HP locks up on startup, 3 user A/C, Classic Shell on 2 A/C

My HP Spectre intermittently locks up on startup, The computer has 3 user accounts and Classic Shell interface on
2 of them.
User account A: Windows 8.1 interface
User account B: Classic Shell
User account C: Classic Shell
Intermittently start-up goes directly into user account A, buy-passing the account selection screen and the
password window. I can move mouse pointer but no click. Control with mouse is frozen.
But I can [cntr][alt][del] to sign off user account A. I can then log in normally to any account using its
password. Then all appears to work OK.
It is said on the Clssic Shell forun that "This can't be related to Classic Shell. None of its code runs before
you log in."

Hi, thanks for the help, Jaco.
I have tried your suggestions previously but no avail.
I finally took it to an IT and it turned out to be a very simple problem:  the F9 key was stuck (even though it didn't look like it), so and since this key triggers diagnostics during start up, every time I turned on computer the diagnostics screen would come up.  When we unplugged the keyboard, everything was fine again.  Guess all I needed was a new keyboard!
Thanks anyway!  Much appreciated.

  • I'm signed in to my account on my macbook air's apple store, but when I try to update any apps, it has a locked in apple store user which is not mine, any help removing this?

I'm signed in to my account on my macbook air's apple store, but when I try to update any apps, it has a locked in apple store user which is not mine. I have no idea where this user came from, but I need to update my apps and get this user off my computer. The users email is locked, it is grey in colour and I can not get it off. I've tried my system settings and the app store, logging in does not change the fact that there is a strange email there. I need help, please! I don't know if this is a hack or what, I brought my computer into the shop to get some work done so it may be their account, I just need the account removed.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
    Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
    Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.

  • Locks list for a user session

    Hello,
Is there a function module or class/method which will give me the list of all locks of a user in the current session and not across all sessions (like transaction SM12). Function modules like ENQUE_READ and ENQUE_READ2 provides the lock list for a user across all sessions but not in the seesion in which the FM is being executed.
Please let me know if you have any information in this regard.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • SDO gives JBO-26030: Failed to lock the record, another user holds the lock

    Hi,
I have a question thats on the boundary between ADF and BPEL but I posted in this forum because its highly related to ADF Model with Service Interface.
We have a BPEL batch process that spawns multiple child BPEL processes that handle threads inside the batch in parallel. These child processes all update the same batch record in a database with for example the lastActionDateTime. We do this by invoking an update service on a SDO application that we built following this tutorial: http://jianmingli.com/wp/?p=2838
It all works good but sometimes when updating the same row from multiple BPEL process instances at the same time, we sometimes get a SDO JBO-26030: Failed to lock the record, another user holds the lock.
I'm a bit stunned by this, because all we really do is updating a record. From BPEL we just invoke the updateBatch webservice method of the Service Interface.
I can imagine that there will be wait time when these updates come in at the same time, but I didn't expect an exception would occur. Also the arbitrariness confuses me. If a child process would lock the record, I would expect this error to happen always and not at random.
From BPEL the error displays as follows:
         <fault>
              <bpelFault>
                   <faultType>1</faultType>

  • How to Lock particular template for user editing.

    Hi Gurus,
we have some templates created on top of infoset querrys to display the output in specific format. I want to lock particular templates for user modification. That means when the user is trying to change the template layout and try to save with the same name it should not allow to do that. if the user wants in another name then it must allow the user to do that.
    How can i achieve that.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Appreciate your help.

Use a naming convention on templates with a particular prefix, ie ZCORP***.  Then create an authorization object that specifies that templates with the prefix ZCORP cannot be changed or deleted.  The user will be able to changed and save under a different name, but not the same one.
    Thanks for any points assigned.

Recently my MacBookPro locked up on startup. Could not get past a certain point of progress bar. I had upgraded to Yosemite few weeks back, with no issues. I ended up doing a Recovery with Time Machine and I got all my apps, photos, documents, etc. back okay --- except I got error messages that my "registration for Photoshop (I use CS4 Extended) and Photo Mechanic are no longer working".  I worked on Photoshop first, and tried (several times) to fix it with their online help suggestions.  Nothing worked.
Is there a simpler way to "get my licenses/registrations back"???  I am also going to contact Camera Bits about the Photo Mechanic issues.   Thanks

Experts need help to solve this issue urgently .........:)
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Mahantesh,
We have faced same scenario, this is happening due to SAP User ID password change.
Stop all the BO work and change the password of SAP everywhere used.Any single point will lock it again.
Try this. This has worked for us.

I find a similar post in NW04S Java  application remians in "starting apps" phase., but I cannot find the function in "http://<FQDN>:5<NR>00/irj --> System Administration --> Monitoring --> Object Locking"
It seems database issue, because we changed to another database and it's ok. But we restart both database and netweaver, the problem is still the same.

  • In 3WP, Error: item 75 / 0000000010 currently locked by a foreign user.

In 3 way Pegging, error " item 75 / 0000000010 currently locked by a foreign user" is coming frequently. What does this error means? How to fix it?

    Hi,
It only means that some other user is either changing the material master or doign some transactions involving this material. You need not do anything. You can just wait for 5minutes and resume your work once the guy completes his work. Some other guys also get this message while you are working in a material. So this is common.
If you want to know who is working, you can find the table relevant to your transaction and then check in SM12 by giving the table name, you can find out the user id there. You shoudl have access to SM12 for this

  • Lock sys and system user

    Dear all,
We have 10.2.0.4 on solaris 10.
Currently we had I.T audit on our environment and auditor commented to lock sys and system user and use one user with any name (not oracle generic name) and grant him sys and system privilege and to use this user for admin purposes. is this right ?.. is this recommended ?
    Please advise

    Hello,
I think it's not a right way to lock SYS.
More over, if you connect as OS Administrator (root for Unix/linux) on the server and use
OS Authentification then, you can connect on SYS AS SYSDBA anyway.
So, in fact, it's not possible to lock out SYS even if you execute the following:
ALTER USER SYS ACCOUNT LOCK;If you want to prevent access on SYS you should set a complex and long password and
apply the same rule for the Administrator / root OS user.
These passwords must be known by very few and well - identified people and written nowhere
    (in any files or scripts).
More over, you should limit DBA roles to SYS and SYSTEM and remove this powerful Role
    from other Oracle Users.
Then, you may enable session AUDIT so as to control the connexion on the database and,
create a LOGON TRIGGER so as to check the login, workstation, program of the end users
    who connect to the database.
On 10g, EM DBConsole shows an alert everytime a User is connected with SYS.
Please, find enclosed, an interesting document written by Pete Finigan on this topic:
    http://www.insight.co.uk/files/presentations/Hacking%20and%20securing%20Oracle.pdf
    Hope this help.
    Best regards,
    Jean-Valentin

The manner how you put files on the server is unimportant.
It's the Webserver (usually Apache) itself that does the protecting.
So either use the control panel where you host your website, or use the method explained on the page I linked to.
Should look like this (on the left) :
Your visitor will see this :
    http://home.wyodor.net/protect/
    Use : root/root
Inside it looks like this :

  • Workspace is locked exclusively by OS user null using machine null

    Hi all,
I get the following strange message when trying to logon in the OWB design center (OWB 11.1.0.6, platform windows):
'The workspace is locked exclusively by OS user null using machine null'
There are no sessions running on the database (except control center service) and I'm the only user on the machine (my own laptop). All the OWB users are unlocked.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Quinten

Metalink Doc ID 405935.1 addresses this problem.
    Close all OWB clients.
Connect to DB via SQLPlus as the repository owner.
    Run OWB_HOME\owb\rtp\sql\stop_service.sql.
Connect to DB via SQLPlus as sys with sysdba.
    Run this: delete from sys.dbms_lock_allocated where name like 'OWB%';
On your other SQL session run: OWB_HOME\owb\rtp\sql\start_service.sql.
    Close all sessions.
Start Warehouse Builder Client and connect.

Unfortunately the situation as we understand it is that Apple will unlock phones locked by the original owner if they themselves provide proof of purchase. They will not unlock it at all for a subsequent owner who has bought it second-hand, however legitimately.
The auction house have sold you an item which is not working as described and your argument is with them. They must take it back and refund your money. If as you imply the previous owner is absolutely not available then this phone is permanently unusable and there is no way whatever round that.
