HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Premiere and Mirror printing for mousepads and t shirt printing

Concerns HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Premiere.  I have been trying to figure out where the printer setting is for mirror printing.  It usually is in the Advanced Tab.  I called HP and was told by 2 different tech's and then a  Supervisor that HP did not include that option in this printer.  I tried to explain how I felt this was hard to believe and was told it most likely was a option that was no longer need.  I have her name and case number.  I asked her to bump this up to the next higher level because I felt strongly HP did not intentionaly leave this option out.  I was brushed off.
Can anyone suggest anything.
Thanks
Joe

You can install an alternate print driver, such as the HP Deskjet 990c(pre-included with XP and Vista) and you should have that option. Follow the instructions below.
===Step one: Determine which port the current HP product uses===
a. From the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon/Start button.
b. In the Start Search box, type control printers and then press Enter . The Printers window appears.
c. Locate the HP product in the list of printers, right-click the HP product, and then click Properties .
d. Click the Ports tab and write down the name of the port that has a check mark in the box beside it. This is the port to which the current HP product is printing.
e. Click Cancel to close the Properties dialog box.
===Step two: Add an HP Deskjet 990c default printer===
a. In the Printers window, click Add a printer .
b. Under Choose a local or network printer , click Add a local printer and then click Next .
c. Click Use an existing port , click the down-arrow ( ) to the right to select the port identified in Step one, and then click Next .
d. Under Manufacturer , locate and click HP .
e. Under Printers , locate and click hp deskjet 990c and then click Next .
f. In the Printer Name box, change the name of the printer if you'd like to.
g. Continue the wizard and select the preferred options, and then click Finish .

  • Paper Jam error message due to broken gear on Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-one printer

3 year old HP Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-one printer (haven't used it much). Keeps telling "Paper Jam" although there is no paper jammed anywhere (searched meticulously with a flashlight after watching HP's tutorial videos on how to clear paper jams). I started searching on the Internet and found a couple of related videos on Youtube that pointed me in the right direction:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMFW1RRlDHEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwbF2Vs_0gQ  I could hear a clicking noise on that area of the printer each time I turned it on, so I carefully took the black cap apart that was hidding the gear, and confirmed I had the same problem as in the youtube videos above. See picture below showing the white plastic gear part that has a large crack which causes the Paper Jam error message and renders the printer unusable. After Googling a little bit, seems like a relatively common issue and wonder why such a part like that is not made of a stronger material like metal (planned obsolescence maybe?). Does anybody know if there is a way of replacing the broken gear?  (I really care for the environment and I would like to avoid having to throw the relatively new and expensive all-in-way printer away) Thanks a lot in advance for the advice!

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Premier doesn't print black, only color

The OfficeJet Pro 8500 was printing normally, then it began cycling repeatedly through cleaning the printhead so I turned it off and back on. I also replaced the black ink cartridge. Now it prints as requested with normal functionality in my hoome network, but it only prints the color features of a page, not black.
    Please help.

    Hello LindaSN,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with printing black ink.
I do have a few suggestions we can try in that attempt to troubleshoot this issue.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I have also done some research and I have found a great document that deals with Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Printer Series (A909).
Please feel free to write me back if you have any other questions or concerns.

Sorry to hear that you are having some issues when it comes to printing anything in green.  I see that you have also attempted some steps in cleaning the printer.  I am going to give you a document that gives great detail in troubleshooting Print quality / Defective printouts.  This link has different documents that deal with print quality issues.
One other thing that could be affecting the Ink Delivery System is how you have the power cable connected. If you have it connected to a power bar/strip, please remove it and connect it directly to a wall outlet.  Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for all HP products in general.  Please click the link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g and eprint

    Hi.
    I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g
I want to print from my ipad and my samsung galaxy sIII .
I tried to set up the apps, but I can't find my printeres emailadress. I followed the instructions but find nothing.
From the hp-website this printer should be able to work with the apps, but how?
    Kind regards Thor

The printer that you have listed will not have an ePrint email address because it does not support ePrint.  However you can use the ePrint app that is available when the app asks for email address choose skip.  In order to use the app you must make sure your wireless device is connected to the same network as your printer.  I am included a link for you to see ePrint supported printers and capabilities for each.
Let me know if this helps.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 : Use scanner without print heads/cartridges

    Hello.
I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 (CB023A) that I bought specifically because of the automatic duplex scanner. Buying a scanner with automatic duplex instead of this multifunction printer was out of the question because the cheapest one costed over ten times more than this multifunction printer (and they still do).
I can no longer afford to keep buying print heads and cartridges just to use the scanner, as this multifunction uses ink for scanning!!! But that is beside the point.
I have read in other posts about taping sensors but I was thinking about going a little further and completely remove the printing part of the multifunction. Anyone knows if I can just disconnect the printing part from the circuit board? Or will I have to fiddle with software? Maybe some hidden option in the "Mfg Commands" (accessible by pressing * and # with the printer on) or some other hidden feature?
Considering that this multifunction takes way too long to boot because of all the print head checking/cleaning/etc, with a little luck, without the printing part the boot time will decrease to almost nothing .
Before I start disassembling I would appreciate some advice, specially if someone else has already tried it.
    Thank you in advance.

Hello kamath27. Thank you for your reply.
I apologize for not replying sooner but I wanted to try and disassemble the multifunction before replying instead of just replying with an acknowledge.
Also, sorry for such a long post but I wanted to be as detailed as possible.
However, before describing what I did and found, I want to clarify something.
With the multifunction in the same condition it came from the factory, if I remove one print cartridge, or one is empty, the multifunction stops on boot with a message requesting to change the cartridge before continuing and there is no way to bypass it. When this message shows, pressing any button on the multifunction or the screen yields no result (there is no OK button displayed on the multifunction screen). It was always like this and firmware updates never solved it.
And going to the printer control panel on the connected computer says that the printer is offline even if it is connected through USB and is displayed in device manager as a connected USB device. This is the reason why I had spent so much money buying ink that I do not use. I never print anything on this multifunction. All prints that the multifunction ever performed were a dozen or so of maintenance align and test pages.
Now for what I did. I disassembled the multifunction just enough to take out the main circuit board, the wireless board, the buzzer and the door sensors. I set up the printer half and the scanner half side-by-side with the main circuit board in the middle, reconnected everything and turned it on in order to test if anything stopped working during disassembly. Everything was OK and the multifunction worked as normal (printed a test page and scanned it to the computer).
Next, while facing the main board the same way it would be faced while mounted in the multifunction, I started disconnecting the connectors (except the ones that belong to the scanner half) one by one from left to right in the following fashion: With the multifunction OFF, I disconnected one connector, turned the multifunction on, waited for any message or the main screen, tried to print a test page and then scan it, and finally disconnected the multifunction, reconnected the connector and moved on to the next one.
    The results were:
    - disconnected the tray feeding sensor -> Allows to boot with a paper jam message that can be bypassed with an OK on the screen. Can not print because of the alleged paper jam but can scan.
    - disconnected the pump -> Allows to boot but a message keeps popping about pump motor stalled. Can be bypassed with an OK but pops right back and all jobs get aborted. Can not print or scan.
    - disconnected the printer motor -> Oddly, no messages. Allows to boot and scan but not print. This was strange because when trying to print there is no message in the printer and the software on the PC only said the printer was busy. I would think the printer would eventually display a message saying the print carriage was jammed or something but nothing happened after 10 minutes. I might test again later as one test may be interfering with the next.
    - disconnected the print cartridge door sensor -> Stops on boot with a message to close the door. Does not allow to print or scan.
    - disconnected the print cartridges connector -> Stops on boot with message to replace cartridges. Does not allow to print or scan.
    - disconnected the print heads connector -> On boot briefly displays a screen with the image of the power button and the code "C00E0060" below. Then the screen turns white and all buttons on the multifunction start blinking. It is as described here but resetting the multifunction, reconnecting the connector and turning it on took it back to operational condition.
    - disconnected everything except for the scanner connectors and the tray and door sensors - Gives the exact same behaviour as the previous test (code "C00E0060").
So, from the tests it seems that I can not use the scanner if anything from the printer half is disconnected. Any ideas on how to circumvent this, if possible?
    Thank you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a Series - Not printing Cyan ink

    Hi,
I am having an issue with my HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a Series (about 4-5 years old) where it has stopped printing Cyan completely. I have had this issue about 2-3 months ago which was solved by cleaning the cyan and magenta print head. After cleaning the print head this time it has not solved the issue.
If I dab the print head onto a lint cloth cyan and magenta ink comes out so I don't think it's an issue with the ink getting to the printhead so have ruled dried up pipes out.
I have done the standard troubleshooting with no luck. According to the print quality diagnostics page all cartridges are at atleast 30% and above and Printhead health claims to be 'Good'.
This all leads me to believe it must be some kind of technical issue rather than physical, something wrong with the printhead chip not allowing it to dispense Cyan ink?

    Hello @12MattC,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are not able to print in Cyan ink on your HP Officejet 8500 A909a, usually you can clean the printheads and the Cyan will come back, but this time that did not help.
I would like you to make sure you complete ALL steps listed here: Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink for the HP Officejet 6500A e-All-in... (Printer listed is the 6500, same steps apply to the 8500)
Please let me know the outcome, if you are still unable to print in Cyan ink call our technical support at 800-474-6836 to see what options they have available for you. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

  • HP Officejet pro 8500 A910 won't print wirelessly

    "An error has occurred. (devInfoPage-503)".
I've had my Officejet pro 8500 A910 for less than 6 months.  It was an easy set up and printed and scanned perfectly for at least 2 months.  I use a wireless connection from my laptop which is running Windows 7.  Then a few months ago I started having problems scanning wirelessly from the printer pad, it would tell me that there was no computer connected. If I went to my laptop and went into the HP Document Manager it would scan the document and save it to my laptop just fine.  And I could still print - the laptop had no problem finding the printer.
About a month ago I had a really big print job for work.  But I figured this was a sturdy printer and could handle it.  Towards the end though the printer would stop printing for no apparent reasoning with the keypad just showing the spooling circle and saying "printing".  The only way to get it to actually print was to unplug the computer, delete the print job and start again.
Then for a while I had to do that every time I wanted to print, even after the "big print job" was long over, and still no scanning from the printer (will scan from the laptop).
I've tried several times uninstalling and reinstalling the software.  I've checked to make sure the printer is included in the "home network".
Today I reinstalled the software at the Control Panel on my laptop I get the green checkmark meaning the printer is set up and ready to go, but when I try to print a self  test page I get this message "An error has occurred. (devInfoPage-503)".  Any help in solving this problem would be much appreciated.  Thank you so much for your time.

My Office jet has printed fine wirelessly for 6 months but started to not recognise the computer.  re starting worked for while but now it will not recognise the computer at all.  The computer says  Scanner communication cannot be established and the printer says it sees the computer.
Why did it work but now won't?
    Thanks,
    Billy

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 is the worst printer I have ever had and I regret getting it

To anyone who is thinking of getting a new printing and is considering getting the HP Offiejet Pro 8500 - DON'T DO IT!!!!  This printer was purchased was purchased for me as a holiday gift.  I was so excited to get it b/c it seemed as if this printer could do everything, and it does do everything except for print out nicely and quickly.  This printer SUCKS down ink and I am constantly having to purchase new cartridges (colored ones once ever 6 weeks for $25.00 a piece x 3).  The printer is loud, it is slow, but worst of all it doesnt' print out documents the way it should so I am wasting a ton of paper and ink.  The lines skip, there are large blank spots on my pages, the colors are off.  In short, this thing is terrible and it is only 3 months old.  I can't imagine how much worse it will get over time.  I'm sorry I got it.

Sorry, Here the answers:- your router does not work (reocrgnized other printers thoug, funny enough)- "you have a problem with Windows " (funny that, we have a windos 7 and windose 8 computer, better call Mr. Gates to tell him that HP said that his systems don´t work)- connected the printer with USB cable: Even this works only on a good day choosen by the printer  For a back up,  have to use really every second time the printer of my brother in law. It is the oldest Epson printer you can imagine. Prints like a treat. It is a joke.  HP tech service on the phone: Looking for mistakes in others from:"Did you plug in the printer?"to "Call you network provider" I hate the printer. Will never again buy an HP. Welcome suggestions.  Regards

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-one printer - issues after upgrading to Windows 8.1

After successfully downloading a driver from the HP website to enable using this all-in-one printer with a new HP laptop using a Windows 8.1 OS, I confirmed that the printing function works normally (just as it did with a Windows XP OS on my wireless home network).
However, I don't find any icons appearing on the 8.1 desktop for other HP apps (e.g. HP Solution Center, HP Photo Creations). I do have an icon for the Printer. When opened, it shows two options: 1) add a new printer and 2) add new software (from the original CD). But the original CD is for the XP OS, which I don't try and possibly mess up what already is working.
So-o-o, Is there any HP software download available for HP apps to use with this printer, especially HP Solutions Center?

    Hi Riley.
