Hello,
I see that you're having an issue with the pump motor stall. I would suggest doing a hard reset.
You can also follow this document for the issue you're having.
Also, can you access the main menu (copy, scan and fax) on the printer?
Hard Reset:
Unplug the power cord from the printer and wall
Take out the toner/cartridges
Wait 30 sec
Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall (Make sure the printer is plugged into the wall and not a surge protector)
Insert the toner/cartridges back into the printer

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One (A901g)

I'm thinking about getting a MacBook...would the "HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One (A901g)" work well with this and for what i need?
I need an All-in-One...I have an iPhone, so I would like the Air-Print feature...and since I might be getting the MacBook, I would like a printer that is wireless. I also want something that is good for printing quality pictures.
It appears this printer has everything i am looking for, but it doesnt say anything about being wireless...does anyone know if it is or not?? if not, can anyone recommend a printer for what i am looking for?
    thanks

Also is this printer quiet? I am considering this for a library setting, and don't need a noisy printer! Thanks.

Hi. You are on the proper board!  Unfortunately to fix the account mis-match issue you are having you will need to share personal information.  To protect your identify and the security of your account I will private message you with what HP will need in order to get your Snapfish/HP Connected accounts synced up so you can use the web services!

    HP Officejet 8600 pro Plus  N911g  model # snprc-1101-01
I insert an SD card full of photos into the built in card reader - but have no option to send the photos to a file on my computer. Does this product only print but not send to a computer?  I need to edit the photos before printing.

    Hi @Rodney88,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer N911g wont send SD imapges to computer, and I am happy to help!
According to your printer's user guide found at this website, HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g User guides, as well as this guide, Printing From a Memory Card or USB Flash Drive. This printer only supports printing from SD cards.
In order to transfer the files to your computer, you will need an SD Card reader for your computer.
Hope this clears things up for you, and have a good day!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g can not define a custom size paper.

HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g can not define a custom size paper.  I would like to have a custom size to work with a card making program.

    Can you help me out?
I have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a
When I try to print to a custom print size (2.75" x 6" in my case), I get the same error everyone else is reporting: "Paper detected does not match paper size or type selected. Make sure the paper size or type is correct to continue the job."
I am currently trying to print using Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 version 14.4.5, but I have the same problem with printing from Adobe Reader 9.8.5 or Preview 8.0.
    I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.
My printer's firmware is "up to date" as of 28-Aug-2014.
    This is what I did:
    1. Open System Preferences from the Apple menu.
    2. Click on the Printers & Scanners icon.
    3. Click on the + sign under the list of printers to add a printer
    4. Click on IP
    5. Enter my IP address in the Address field (verified as "valid and complete host name or address")
    6. Ignore Protocol field (default is Line Printer Daemon - LPD)
    7. Ignore Queue field (default is blank for default queue)
    8. Ignore Name field (default is IP address)
    9. Ignore Location field (default is blank)
    10. Under the Use dropdown menu, I select "Select Software"
    11. HP Deskjet 9800 is not an option.
I searched for 9800, but there is no HP printer with that number in the options.
I tried selecting "HP DeskJet 980C - Gutenprint v5.2.3" to see if that would work, but I received the same error message as above. I tried selecting other random HP printers, but so far I've had no luck.
I've been googling about for a way to manually add a printer driver to this "Select Software" list, but I've found nothing (apparently, no one else wants to do this). I did not find a driver download for the HP DeskJet 9800 for OS X Yosemite 10.10 on the Drivers & Software section of the hp.com website.
Additional details on settings for Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 version 14.4.5:
Selected File > Page Setup from menu
Under the Paper Size drop down menu, I selected manage custom size.
    - Click + to add a paper size
    - Enter "2.75" in width and "6 in" height in the paper size fields.
    - Enter "0 in" as the User Defined Non-Printable Area for top, left, right and bottom.
    - Double-clicked Untiled in the custom size list and rename the size as Receipt
    - Click OK to return to the Page Setup dialog box
    Under Settings: Page Attributes:
    - Format for "HP Officejet Pro 8600"
    - Paper size: Receipt
    - Orientation: "tall/portrait"
    - Scale: 100%
    - Click OK
Select Format > Document and set all page margins to 0.25"
    Thank you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g power surge

Had a power surge on the printer due to a storm. Now the printer won't power up. Tried plugging it in a different electrical outlet, but it still won't power up. Is there a way to reset the internal power supply since I assume there is some type of surge protection on the printer?
    Thanks,

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium e-All-in-One Printer - A910n and duplex printing.

on the product page where I went to buy the printer it says that this printer can do duplex legal, the info below is from the product page under specs.  The problem is that I can printer duplex on legal size paper.  Why and how I can fix that, because the reason I bought this printer is that it can do duplex: legal.
    Supported paper sizes
      Tray: Tray 1: Letter, legal, statement, executive, 3 x 5 in, 4 x 6 in, 5 x 7 in, 5 x 8 in, 4 x 10 in, 4 x 11 in, 4 x 12 in, 8 x 10 in, envelopes (No. 10, Monarch, DL)
    Duplexer: Letter; legal; executive

    Hi,
Wow... Could you provide me a link to the site where you found the information on the "legal duplexor"?  I found this information on the A910n product page ... product specifications.  I found that it doesn't support the legal duplexing.
Here is the link to the document:
    Product Specs
You will want to expand the section supported paper sizes, and look at the table for legal.  There isn't a check mark for duplexing.
How long have you had the product?

  • Officejet pro 8600 plus e-all-in-one color managment problem.

please help, I'm a photographer and I own officejet pro 8600 plus e-all-in-one printer. I want to print my photos using this printer, but it never print them right, so I bought Colormunki photo to calibrate my monitor and my printer and match them together. The problem is I can't control the printer color management  !!! I want to disable it, so I can use the printer profile in Photoshop or other applications to get the right prints. my prints are darker when I set the color management to be handled by the application, or I make the printer handle it but I will end up with wrong colors. I really really need to change the profile of the printer. how ?????? otherwise I really have no use of it in my work.

    Jassim,
Kudos to you for figuring out how to better control the outcome for what you require.
I have learned something new today.  Smiling!
Did you create the new profile manually or add it in from a previously saved setting?  Filename / filetype?
It has been a while since I used Photoshop.  I am thinking I may take another look at my old favorite.

I purchased this unit yesterday for my office and I would like to have incoming faxes get sent to my computer as an e-mail.  I have gone through the digital fax setup process but I am not receiving e-mails notifying me of a fax.  Here are some specifics:
HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus e All-in-one printer

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One.

I have set up an eprint account for my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One. When trying to sign hpeprint.com account, i get a message of "not a valid email address."

Hope you are doing well ovsc92
Do you have an shapfish.com account?
If this is the case let's merge the 2,
"Do you have another HP account in existence?  Normally when someone has this
issue, they have an existing Snapfish HP account.
    1. Go to www.snapfish.com and click on ""log in"" at the top right.
    2. On the splash screen that comes up click on the ""forgot your password""
    link and submit your email.
    3. You should receive an email with a link and a temporary password.4. Click on the link and log in with the temp password.
    5. Change your password to something that has at least 6 characters (at least 1 of those should be a number).
    6. Go back to www.eprintcenter.com and click on Sign In.
    7. On the next screen do not put your email or password, but click on the
    small Snapfish below.
    8. On the splash screen that comes up log in with your email and the password
you just created at Snapfish. This will merge your HP accounts and you should be able to log in to www.eprintcenter.com normally after that."
Let me know the outcome I will do my best to help you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One - terrible print & scan options

I just purchased an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One an the print options look like they were written by someone from the 1990s.  There are no options for lower resolution - only draft, normal, best and no option for black and white - other than grayscale.  The print options box is the default box that was originally develped in the 1990s - no kidding.  I also tried scanning some items and the box to see the scan is about 5" x 5" and there is absolutely no way possible to see what was scanned.  I originally loaded the software using the disk provided witih the printer, but then I went on line and downloaded the "Full" version - which loaded exactly what was on the disk.  I can not believe HP is even selling this thing with these types of drivers.  I loaded the drivers onto my HP Desktop, running Windows 7 home, 64 bit and my HP laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.  Both HP computers are Intel I7 Quad core computers w/ 9 & 12 Gb of RAM respectively.
What gives?  Do I need to return this thing because it certainly does not work properly and is not up to the HP standard we expect - especially for the $300 it costs to buy the thing.  I bought this all in one because HP refuses to update the drivers of my older HP scanner to support Windows 7.  That scanner showed the preview with a full screen, allowed me to change resolutions of scans, colors, etc.
Has anyone else experienced this type of garbage?

I agree the HP customer services and product services suck. I have an Officejet Pro 8500 and consistently had problems.
I think I'll change to a Cannon printer or another company. It is apparent that HP does not care.
