Hello.
I need to find the part number of the part, (or assembly of parts that is available). I have a printer cracked this gear and I just need to fix the printer has been switched on again. Thanks for the reply.
Info: one small part I removed so I could take a picture of a broken right gear.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus - Magenta Not Printing

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus (A910), Model number CM756A, Serial number: [Moderator edited Serial Number] that is not printing magenta.
Firmware version: LRP1FN1231AR. Service ID 21057. IK Number 658.
Software version: 028.000.1315.000. Printer Driver version: 09.84.00.1189
The Printhead Status for all cartridges reports as "Good" in the Self Test Diagnostic Page.
I have run a Print Quality Diagnostics and in Test Pattern 2 there is no red/magenta colored block appearing.
I did not have any alert for low print quantity, however I replaced the Magenta inkcartridge with an HP Officejet 940XL new magenta ink cartridge (HP genuine) and still there is no Magenta printing.
When I open the ink cartridge holder, the printer shows HP Model: A910g, HP Ink Cartridge 940.
I have gone through this exercise several times, however the latest Magenta ink cartridge that I removed from the printer prior to replacing had the following information on it:  C4908A, 2016/05/22.  The newest cartridge I put in has a September 2017 expiration date (part number C4908A).
I am not getting any error messages or anything, there is just no Magenta being printed.
First - I would like to know how to fix this issue with the HP printer.
Second - is there anyway to get a refund for the ink cartridges I have had to use (and waste) trying to resolve this problem.
    Thank you.

  • Why can't I print to my HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A Plus All-in-One from my wired PC?

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A Plus All-in-One on my network.  My router is wireless, which several of my devices (laptops, ipads, etc.) use to get an internet connection, but I have one desktop PC that is actually wired to the router via ethernet cable.  For some reason, when I attempt to print to the 8500 from the wired PC, the doc just sits in the que, eventally registering as an 'error'. But all of my wirelss devices can print to it just fine.
Oddly, this is somewhat of an intermittent issue, as I have printed successfully from this PC before, but I can't right now.  I'll also throw this in: I have at times, plugged an ethernet cable into my wireless-capable laptop and had the same issue.  But then I just unplug the calbe, reboot, and turn on wireless, and can print without any issues ... so I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the PC is wired to the router.
Don't know if this has anytthing to do with it, but my wireless network is called 'FrogNet', but my wired PC doesn't see 'FrogNet' like all my wireless devices do.  It just indicates that this is part of a generic network.   Ideas?  (All computers run Win7.)

  • Mac os 10.6.8 & hp officejet pro 8500a plus (910g) stopped printing wirelessly.

hp officejet pro 8500a plus (910g) prints from mac os 10.6.8 with a usb, but stopped printing wirelessly
HP Network Configuration Page states Network Status: ready and Active Connection Type: Wireless
Wireless Network Test Report - looks A-O.K.
Turned off modem, printer and laptop & restarted modem, printer, laptop computer
Seems that the computer can't "find" the printer, maybe.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If you open System Preferences --> Print & Fax and click the "+" symbol at the bottom of the printer list on the side, you should get an "Add Printer" dialog window to pop open.  Is your printer visible in that window?
If not, try printing a configuration report from the printer, to get the IP address your printer currently has.  If you type that number into your web browser of choice (Safari, Firefox, etc.), does the printer's "embedded web server" page load?
If so, you could set up the printer on your Mac using the IP address in the "Add Printer" dialog. To do that, you select "IP" at the top of the window rather than "Default" (which is a discovery list), and paste the IP address into the "Address" field.  If the printer is available, it should pick the model automatically.
    Cheers,

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus printing issues

I have been having two new issues suddenly (within the past 2 weeks) with my HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. I am trying to print from my iMac 27 inch running OS.X 10.8.4 Both the mac and the printer are connected to a wireless network via an Xfinity Wireless Gateway. I have just replaced the ink cartridges in the printer but am unable to print black & white. In fact everything is comming out kinda pink. I have posted on HP's support site and was told to
    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
    Restart your Mac.
    Reset the printing system:
    - Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
    - Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
Having done that initially my problem was solved. But now I'm having the problem again. I went through the above steps again, but still not able to print. Are there any suggestions for a fix. Is anyone else seen this issue? Is there a particular printer manufacturer that works well with Apple. Because at this point I have a large paperweight that is of no use to me!

The fact that it was solved and then came back points to some (unknown) issue with your Mac's software.
Try these generic fixes first (and then do the reset printing system and re-add again):

  • GOT A HP OFFICEJET PRO 8500A PLUS; I MUST RE-ENTER WIRELESS SETTINGS EVRYTIME I USE IT??

I just got an OfficeJet Pro 8500a Plus, on the touchscreen i have to set-up (username and password) the wireless connection to my wireless SSID; and that confirms the connection ok. At that point i can print no problem, scan and fax.
The problem arises when my wireless router fails and restarts, the next time i use my printer it says it is not connected and i must reconfigure from the touch screen again username and password. Is there no way to have these settings entered permanently so if my router resets or whatever i do not have to re-enter all settings? Thanks for the help and hopefully good news.
    Thank you so much

This is strange.  Does the printer ever lose power?
Let's set a static IP address for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). You can change the DHCP range of the router using its internal settings page.
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway and first DNS. Leave the second one blank.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • Booklet printing hp officejet pro 8500a plus

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus and run Win 7 64-bit and MS Office 2010 Pro.  I can print booklet format from PDF documents, but not from Word.  In Word, when selecting [Print Properties], I can choose [booklet], but once I click on OK, this setting is discarded and defaults back to full page double-sided printing.  How can I fix this? I have tried it with a different printer and it then works from Word, suggesting that the problem probably lies with the printer driver.

NOTE:    The printer driver does not support manual duplexing. Two-sided printing requires an HP Automatic Two-sided Printing Accessory to be installed on the device
found online in user guide  I am researching to find a printer that can do booklet printing

  • Alignment failure - HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus all-in-one printer. The printheads failed and I bought authentic HP printheads (two), installed them and I still get the alignment failure error. The print quality is excellent on all quality and alignment reports that I have printed. What is the problem and what is the solution?
    Craigranderson

Hi craigranderson, and welcome to the HP Forums.
I see you are experiencing an alignment failure.  I would like to try and help.
I would suggest performing a power reset. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend following the steps in this document on an 'Alignment failed' Error Message Displays on the All-in-One.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • My HP OfficeJet Pro 8500a Plus won't print. Paused queue cannot resume. 'Doctor' fails to solve.

As a Windows 7 Admin user I can print to the HP OfficeJet Pro 8500a Plus but other users cannot. Their prints go into the 'Print Queue' and neither Resume or Restart will work. Resume merely deletes it from the queue and Restart does nothing.
Print and Scan Doctor doesn't resolve the problem. It refers to the 'stuck queue' and restarts the computer. Even then it does nothing to solve the problem.
There appear to be many instances of this problem on searching the Internet, most suggesting highly complex solutions. Surely it shouldn't be that difficult to solve.

It sounds like it could be a permissions user since the admin account has no issue printing to it.
Are the other users printing from the same computer, but different accounts or are they printing to the networked printer from different computers?

  • How do I print panoramic photos on an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus printer?

How do I print panoramic photos on an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus printer?

Thank you for this link! Actually I installed a brand new Windows 8 system in January 2014 and then bought the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer a few days later. To install this printer I did not use the CD that came with it but already used this link. Just to be sure that I have the latest version I again reinstalled the driver. The result is definitive: You cannot print common photo paper sizes like 4x6,  5x7, 8x10, etc. via a PC using photo SW like HP Photo Creations, MS Gallery, Windows Photo Viewer or any other SW on a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. The reason is most likely that HP marketing decided that an Officejet should not be smart enough for photos, after all the company sells also Photosmarts. Because you cannot create your own formats  you are limited by the driver to what is typically available in an office, in this case:  A4, Letter, legal, Statement, Executive, A4, A5, A6, B54 (JIS), Envelopes #10-DL-C5-C6-A2-Monarch, Japanese Postcard, Japanese Envelope Chou #3-#4, L, 2L, O**bleep**u hagaki, Index Card Letter-A4, Edge-to-Edge Letter-A4, Env. Japanese No 3-No 4 and that's it, not more. Thank you anyway for trying to help me but in this case only the SW developers in HP can help.It would be great to be able to print from time to time a 4x6 photo on this printer like I would do.Copying photos on a USB stick or on a SD card first and then use this way to print on the printer is too cumbersome for me.

  • My iPhone and my iPad are connected by wi-fi, but I can't print on HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. On the other hand, I can print over wi-fi from PC. What can I do?

Hallo, thank you for trying to help. Here is my problem:
In the past, the airprint was possible without problems from iPhone 4 and iPad 2. Since today it doesn't work anymore. My iPhone 4 and my iPad 2 is connected by wi-fi and I can serve in the internet. But I can't print on HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. On the other hand, I can print over wi-fi from PC.
There are low ink-levels and therefore a message comes to indicate this by printing from PC. iPhone and iPad are accepting the print order without any messages after, but does't excecute the print.
    What can I do?

    Hey helmut,
You can also try the ePrint method listed here if you can't get AirPrint working:

HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus  or  HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910
Windows 7 Home Premium operating system
    Problem:
Upon receiving a print command, the printer remains silent and displays "Now Printing" on the printer screen.  Nothing happens -- it does not print even after waiting several minutes.  Seems the doc is locked in the que.  Only temporary solution thus far is to cancel the print job and then hold in the power button for 30 to 60 seconds and then release it at which time the unit powers off.  then turn the unit back on and let it boot up.  Upon receiving a new print command it will then print.  But same problem then occurs next time it receives a print command.  I have also run the HP Print and Scan Doctor which indicated a device detection problem and suggested unplugging the power cord.  After doing so and selecting "retry" the HP Print and Scan Doctor indicated it fixed the problem ----- but it did not (printer would still not print until once again the power button was held in for 30-60 seconds as described above.  Upon calling HP tech support they told me i needed to buy a new printer because this one was too old! (is 3 years too old to expect the printer to still function???)  Any help would be appreciated!

  • Officejet Pro 8500A Plus can't scan to e-mail

I have an Officejet Pro 8500A Plus and Windows 7 32-bit OS and using Outlook 2010.  I'm trying to scan to e-mail and am having no luck.  From the printer interface I choose SCAN --> COMPUTER --> (MyComputer) --> E-MAIL AS PDF.  It performs the scan, but then on my computer, I get the following error:
"The HP Scan application is unable to open your e-mail application and/or cannot attach the scan to a new email.  Please check your email configuration and try again."
I've checked the configuration in CONTROL PANEL --> DEFAULT PROGRAMS --> SET YOUR DEFAULT PROGRAMS.  I made sure that I selected Microsoft Outlook and clicked Choose Defaults For This Program.  I then selected all Extenstions and Protocols and still no luck.
Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?  Thanks.  You may be wondering why I don't just use the Scan to Email instead of scan to computer.  Well, unless there's a way to import all 400+ contacts from my Outlook to the address book in the scanner, this is the fastest way for me to scan an item and send it as an e-mail to various people.
    Thanks.

How do I scan a document and then be able to email it to someone on my HP Officejet Pro 8500a Plus

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One (A901g)

I'm thinking about getting a MacBook...would the "HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One (A901g)" work well with this and for what i need?
I need an All-in-One...I have an iPhone, so I would like the Air-Print feature...and since I might be getting the MacBook, I would like a printer that is wireless. I also want something that is good for printing quality pictures.
It appears this printer has everything i am looking for, but it doesnt say anything about being wireless...does anyone know if it is or not?? if not, can anyone recommend a printer for what i am looking for?
    thanks

Also is this printer quiet? I am considering this for a library setting, and don't need a noisy printer! Thanks.
