HP Omni 220-1050xt connection to Vizio E series Smart HDTV issue

Looking for troubleshooting help. I currently have my setup as follows: Omni connected to EVGA UV Plus 39 display adapter via a 3.0 usb to microusb. Adapter is connected to HDTV via HDMI cable. I cannot get the computer to recognize the tv.
The software and drivers appear to have installed correctly (I checked the Device Manager per the evga website). At first, the only option in the 'Connect to external display' was the computer. I rebooted--no change. I then disconnected the HDMI cable from the adapter and plugged it back in--then the computer seemed to recognize something was connected (the computer screen flashes a couple times). I asked the computer to detect, and it still only detected the computer, but I could 'force' an option under the Display drop down menu that says 'Display device on: VGA' and I now have options under the Multiple Displays drop down menu. However, when I select the VGA display, it won't display on the tv (I have triple checked the input option on the tv), and I can't Apply the changes, it says Unable to save changes.
The adapter website does say that if the DisplayPort software doesn't show up in the device tray (which it doesn't), then the computer doesn't recognize the tv. I'm stuck as to how to get them to communicate.
Thoughts?

  • HP Omni 220-1050xt Monitor goes blank at random times and will not light up.

Recently my computer screen starting going blank without any warning.  One minute it is fine and I am working away, then the screen turns black and no key sequence will bring it back.  I have selected a power scheme that has never, never, never set in the categories.  I also sent my screen saver to None.  I took it to Staples to run a diagnostic which responded with no errors.  Within 15 minutes of running, the screen was blank and the computer was unresponsive.

    Hello @jlh41,
I understand that you are experiencing an issue where your HP Omni 220-1050xt Monitor is going blank without warning. I am providing you with some steps you can try below:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
Step 6. Try different cables between your computer and monitor.
If the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the issue persists. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. • HP Omni 220 PC to video camera

I need to connect my HP Omni 220 PC with no firewire port to my CanonOptura 60 video camera, that has FireWire output.  The adapter that Amazon sells DOES NOT work.

Before you buy a new one, have the guy look at the cable you bought from amazon and ask why that's not working. From the link you showed me, the cable is a video camera --> firewire connector and not a USB connection. Well, hope you find out more when you visit bestbuy or another. Have a great day!

    Hi,
Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall the IDT High Definition Audio driver ( this will also re-install the Beats Audio interface ) - details on using Recovery Manager to reinstall software and drivers can be found on the link below.

  • Is there a way of connecting the ipad to the smart board in the classroom, so that the smartboard is the control, and the ipad is displaying what is on the smartboard? This is to help a visually impaired child see what is on the smartboard.,

Is there a way of connecting the ipad to the smart board in the classroom, so that the smartboard is the control, and the ipad is displaying what is on the smartboard? This is to help a visually impaired child see what is on the smartboard.

    Absolutely!
Install Splashtop2 on the PC and enable it to be controlled or ran from iPad or Reflection to simply allow iPad to serve as PC unwired monitor. With Splashtop and an Apple TV connected, you use the smartboard as usual, yet the PC and iPad can see the same content. The impaired child can even interact with the Smart Board via the iPad as if he were writing directly on the big screen. Erasing functions can be done by touching the Smart Board manual controls. Several variables are in play that cause this lack of functionality:
Apple won't permit PC software that infringes its proprietary apps.
Smart Board companies refuse to develop iPad apps because they feel threatened and are being replaced by iPads
School districts think Apple TV is meant for copyright infringement and could expose them to safe harbor lawsuits
Network administrators make it impossible to login Apple TVs because they don't want the streaming occurring
Classrooms are not able to keep up with the technology of using the iPad
Clicker companies refuse to play with iPad because they see it as a potential threat to their core business clients
Apple is not working as hard as it could to exploit its capabilities in education, thus losing money in iPad sales
The bottom line is that we educators and technology developers are hurting our childern with petty conflicts.

Does the printer actually support BlueTooth? If the printer is wireless, then most likely it uses Wi-Fi. Did you read the user guide that came with it? Or contact Canon tech support at their website.

The TV is HD, but only has a component input and not HDMI.  Apple TV 2g only has HDMI output.

  • How can I connect my new macbook pro to HDTV, either wirelessly or via a cable?

I just got a Macbook Pro about a month ago and I'm trying to figure out how to connect it to my HDTV. Is it possible to connect it and simply use the HDTV as a display that way?
Ideally, I'd like to connect it wirelessly, but if not, I understand that a cable should work. I tried to look for a cable from one of the Macbook Pro's ports to the HDMI port on the tv... but couldn't find anything. My old Macbook had a DVI port and I don't think it exist anymore (unless I'm missing it).
    Hope to hear back soon.
    Guy

If your MBP can use it, I highly recommend the following adapter:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/H1824ZM/A/Moshi_Mini_DisplayPort_to_HDMI_Adapt er
I'd be very surprised if it doesn't have a capable mini DisplayPort, since my not-quite-one-year-old MBP does.  But to be sure, first make sure you've got a mini DisplayPort, then scroll down on the page above and find a user comment titled "How you know if it is supported w/o guessing."

  • How do you connect wirelessly to a Samsung smart tv?

how do you connect wirelessly to a Samsung smart tv?

If your're running 10.5.8 your MacBook is likely earlier than a 2009 model so you'd need a Mini-DVI adapter unless it's a model 5,1. We need to know which model you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier.
Depends on what input plug you'll be using on your TV. VGA, DVI, Composite or HDMI.
You'll need a Mini-DVI adapter and a cable from that to your TV. Here's the various types of Mini-DVI adapters on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=min i-dvi&x=9&y=13
You'll also need audio cables to the TV for VGA, DVI or Composite. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=min i-dvi&x=9&y=13#/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_19?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=macboo k+audio+cable&sprefix=macbook+audio+cable&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Amacbook+audio+cable
If you connect the MacBook using a MiniDVI to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a stereo system for audio. The Mini-DVI to HDMI doesn't carry audio and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.
P.S. Composite is the red, white and yellow RCA plugs on your TV or red, white and S-Video plugs.

  • I intend to purchase a Mac Mini and connect to a regular (not smart) flat screen TV and use such as monitor. Can this setup also allow access to Netflix or Apple movies or an Apple TV is also required?

I intend to purchase a Mac Mini and connect to a regular (not Smart) flat screen TV that will be as such a large monitor. With this setup do I require an additional Apple TV to watch programs from Netflix, Apple Store movies, Y-tube etc?

You can view NetFlix and YouTube via their websites on a Mac computer. You can purchase/play iTunes movies and other thing via iTunes on the Mac.
