Hp Pavilion dv1000 - Help.

New here...
I have a HP Pavilion dv1000 - My digital media reader will not read HC... Is there a bios update that could allow my pc to read this HC card?
or will an external digital media reader be my only solution?

You don't state in your post what operating system is on your dv1000? Try this weblink for your model card reader and update driver to see if that recognizes HC? Otherwise, an external card reader may have to suffice...

my hp pavilion dv1000 (1615ts) has an overheating problem and shuts down suddenly.  please help..

with that age of laptop we immediately suspect an issue with dust clogging the exhaust fan or the thermal compound between the heatsink and fan breaking down and needing to be replaced. The laptop needs to be opened and inspected in other words.

  • Notebook- Pavilion dv1000: Increased RAM, USB Mouse Turns Sluggish

My HP Pavilion dv1000 had an original 512MB DDR single card RAM.  Due to slow performance, I recently added a second DDR RAM card of 1GB, increasing the total RAM size to 1.49 GB.  The system performance has improved significantly.
However, I had been using a USB connected external Optical Mouse with the computer.  That same mouse has suddenly turned very erratic after this installation.  It works fine for a few seconds, then the cursor suddenly Hangs/Freezes for a few seconds (sometimes even for longer spells), and then jumps and becomes responsive again for a few seconds.
No other device has so far shown any misbehaviour.  Will be thankful for any guidance to help me tune up the settings to make the USB Mouse work smoothly again.
    Thanks.

    could be a coincidence....try a different mouse

  • HP Pavilion dv1000

    Hi All,
I purchased  a HP Pavilion dv 1000 in 2005  I only used it for just over 3 weeks,  Then I got transfered  to Houston Tx
Where I remained for over 6 years, but before I left the UK I was having problems with my  HP dv1000  before I could send it back to HP I was transfered, Now over 6 years later I'm back and was wondering would it be worth the trouble of paying for it to be fixed...I did take it to a computer repair guy and he said it needed a new HD I bought a new HD and installed it but zilch
...nothing happened at all, wouldn't even start up, nothing.....I've been told that it now needs a new MB but after paying £70 for a new HD I'm very dubious of laying out anymore money...If I sent it back to HP would they repair it for me? I'm willing to pay
as long as it will work....I think I remember reading something about the HP pavilion dv1000 having trouble after I bought it .
    Does  anyone know what the problem was?  Please contact me on {Personal Information Removed}
                                               Thanks in advance....Jim Hover

    Hi, Jim:
If it were me, I would not throw good money after bad.
HP may repair it for you, but it would be cheaper to buy a brand new notebook, I'm sure.
If you don't want to bear the expense for a new notebook, I recommend getting some gently used notebooks on places like eBay or go to your local computer shop and see if they have some nice second hand notebooks for sale.
Notebooks from 2005 are becoming a little dated.

  • Drivers for Pavilion dv1000 from HP website don't work! :(

    Hello everyone.
I have an older HP Pavilion dv1000 laptop here that I am trying to reinstall XP Pro on.
It is XP Pro SP3 32-bit version.
I have performed a clean install - deleted all partition, reformatted, and installed XP.
That worked OK, but now I need to instal the drivers for things such as the sound and VGA etc.
I found the drivers on the HP website here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=43561...
I downloaded them all, but the probem is that NONE of them work.
I started with the audio driver - bargraph goes across, then reports that the install failed.
I then tried the VGA - Install package starts, then reports there is no supported hardware.
Can someone here give me a link to the CORRECT drivers please, as the HP website is obviously linking this model to the wrong driver files.
Thanks a bunch for anyone who takes the time to reply.

  • Win 7 and HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook PC help.

I keep getting an error message saying "No Audio Output Device Installed."
I just recently upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista, and evidently my Audio Drivers got somehow deleted in the process.
I checked the HP Drivers page for my laptop, and i found the one for vista that I was using and I installed them again hoping they would work because they don't have drivers compatable with Windows 7 for my laptop.
But i still keep getting the same message.
Under properties on my audio card it says: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
Anyone know what to do? I wish that HP could make a compatable audio driver for my notebook for Windows 7.
    Suggesstion?

HP provides support for each HP product based on the original operating system tested, pre-installed, and shipped with that product.  While HP worked closely with Microsoft during the development of the Windows 7 operating system, Microsoft will be providing Windows 7 operating system related support to those customers who purchased the Windows 7 operating system separately from their HP PC (i.e., not preinstalled by HP on their HP PC).   Please note that certain HP products (specific hardware and/or software) may not be compatible with the Windows 7 operating system.

  • Graphics/Video Card [REPLACEMENT / UPGRADE] on HP Pavilion Desktop - Help

    I have the following:
    HP Pavilion Elite m9152p Desktop
Upgraded to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (upgraded 11-2009)
The video card seems to have gone out and I have tried the following:
    Reinstalling Operating system
Uninstalled & Reinstalled & Rollback drivers
Prior to the above attempts, no changes had been made to software or hardware only leading to the same result: The video seems to be fine and then it freezes and crashes and ultimately has to have a hard-restart at which point, the computer loads the onboard video/graphics.
I need to purchase a replacement video/graphics card, but I am unsure what specs I need to be aware of or what my computer can handle as far as a replacement and maybe a possible upgrade (not necessary) - any help in this regard would be most appreciated.
    Thanks!

I think it is a good choice.
The reviews seem positive for the most part including that the fan appears to be quiet.
I don't know if your previous card had HDMI.
When you install your new video card, it may disable your onboard audio due to the HDMI audio chip on the video card.
If you do lose your onboard audio, after you install the video drivers, reboot the machine, go into the BIOS, find the onboard audio setting. It may be set to Auto or Disabled. Change the setting to Enabled. Save the setting where you made the change and again when you exit the BIOS.
Upon reboot you will have your onboard audio back.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.

  • Pavilion boot help

we have a pavilion zv5000 and upon trying to start today we get nothing except some horizontal line flash up then a screen with hundreds of white dots arranged in squares, tried a hard reset , tried to enter bios but nothing is working or changing what happens.
    Please any advice?
    Martin

Try re-seating the memory modules, remove and re-insert them a few times to clean the contacts.
It could be some serious hardware failure that would need to be diagnosed by a professional also.

  • Pavilion dv1000

If you getting blinking cursor on the screen there might be a issue with the software. If the screen is completely blank , remove the battery reset the RAM and Hard disk. If you still facing the same issue contact HP.
