Hp pavilion p7-1167c windows 7 64bit

Boots up most of the time with a "Default" desktop. File folders etc. are no longer on desktop but appear in
program list. Fire Fox browser is in default with no saved information. Sometimes after various restore
operations my regular desktop appears on bootup with Fire Fox etc. in its normal mode.

Hello simplex
What operating system are you running? Has this always happened, or did it just start recently? If it just started recently have you made any software or hardware changes tot he computer (although hardware is unlikely to cause what you describe)?
What happens if you:
1. Right click on the desktop.
2. Point to Arrange Icons By
3. Check Show Desktop Icons
Is Show Desktop Icons already checked? If so try toggling it off/on.

  • HP Pavilion G7-2310sw Windows 7 64bit drivers

I decided to downgrade my Windows 8.1 to Windows 7 64bit on my G7. What drivers should i use in order for it to work?
Will Win8 drivers work just fine or will I need some replacement for them?

    Hi:
Use the W7 x64 drivers and software from the g6t-2000 except the BIOS and firmware files.

  • HP Pavilion g6-2293sx: Windows 8 64bit CDs

    Hi,
I purchased HP Pavilion g6-2293sx in May2013. It was shipped with Windows 8 64Bit. After a upgrade, I was unable to see the Battery status in status-bar.
This was really frustrating, as we live in are where frequent Power break-downs occur - almost 4-6 hours daily. So one need to aware of the battery status to prevent abrupt shutdown of notebook.
Anyways, I downgraded to Windows 7 and during this process I formatted the HardDisk so there is now, No Recovery Partition.
How I can get back to my Original Windows 8 (64Bit)? From where I can download Windows OS genuine for my Product?

Sorry, but HP doesn't provide downloads of the HP Recovery partition or HP Recovery image due to licensing restrictions.  Please use the HP Recovery Media, you created when you first setup your computer, to return the computer to a factory like state. If you didn't create your HP Recovery Media, please contact official HP Customer Support in your region / country, via the HP Worldwide Support Portal, to see if HP Recovery Media is available for your computer. Software may not be covered by the warranty and there may be a charge for the HP Recovery Media.
Alternatively, you can try this Windows 8 OEM download; http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&sqi=2...
This is an unofficial "official licensed copy of Windows 8 OEM." Download this file (you may have to try several time or repeatedly to successfully download this file) and burn the ISO image to a DVD. Set the BIOS to use UEFI, enable "Secure Boot" and disable "Legacy Support... if these options are present. Boot from this disk and install Windows 8. It should register as an official copy and use the key embedded in the BIOS. Please note that no HP customizations nor HP value-added will be installed using this method.

  • HP Pavilion g6-2240sa Windows 7 64Bit graphics drivers

I installed windows 7 on my HP Pavilion g6-2240sa however, the windows 8 graphics drivers are not compatible with windows 7.
Can someone please give me a link to some appropriate compatible drivers.

Sorry none of those things worked.
I have one other thing you can try, and if that doesn't work, then I suggest you give up and reinstall W8.
Download and run the AMD Mobility Radeon Driver Verification tool and see if it finds and installs a graphics driver for you.
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/mobile?os=Windows 7 - 64
You may also want to try reinstalling W7 start fresh, and just use that last graphics driver I posted from the HP 2000.
And should you decide to start from the beginning, make sure you install the AMD chipset driver first before installing the graphics driver.  You only need the first file download listed on the webpage.

    Hi Guys ,
I Help my Customer to Purchase Pavilion P6-2420L (FreeDos) , But i cant find driver windows 7 for this model , anybody can help ?
    Product No : H4J47AA#UUF
    Model No : P6-2420l

    Hi:
HP only supports its consumer PC's for the current windows operating system at the time of production and that is currently Windows 8.
That is why there are no drivers for the machine on the support and driver page.
So, what you have to do is to source a comparable model that came out before W8 came out that has the same hardware as the one you want to install W7 on.
All of the W7 x64 drivers from this model should work.
The product specs for the PC you are working on indicate it has the Intel onboard video, so use the Intel graphics driver.
DO NOT USE ANY BIOS OR FIRMWARE FILES

  • Why are my 2 W S X keys only working intermittently on my HP Pavilion DV7 running windows 7?

    Hello,
I'm experiencing a bit of trouble with my 2 W S X keys. They only seem to work when they want to and when one stops working, the other stop working too.
The laptop in question is a HP Pavilion dv7 running windows 7 64bit. I can't think of any changes that have occured before the change but was working fine this time last week. Not dropped it or anything.
A note i saw elsewhere said to check if the keys work works in the BIOS. I opened the BIOS and tried the keys in there upon startup. Didn't work. Logged in left it for a bit and then as if by magic it was then working again (enough so to enable me to write this).
Any ideas what this could be?
Thanks in advance of any help,
    Adam

This is definitely from malware - it happened to me last night and I checked online and found 2 many guesses. I managed to resolve it moments ago - and I'm typing with the same computer / keyboard.  It is hard to resolve but here is the link to the virus description (which does not mention the specific symptom of losing the 2 W S X keys). I lost the function immediately, and suspected malware right away: http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/threat/encyclopedia/entry.aspx?name=TrojanDownloader%3aJava...
So this is how I solved it: I had Microsoft Security Essentials and it was up-to-date. However, it does not find it by itself. Spybot finds something but is unable to fix it - even upon a reboot. I installed Trend free atHome(?) virus scan - it does not find it. I installed AVG full Internet Protection - it does not find it. However, while AVG was running (a few hours) Security Essential found it - just like that! So, it appears that when the malware was adjusting itself to avoid being detected, that it was discovered by MS Security Essentials. I fixed it while AVG was running, and tested my keyboard right away. At first the x worked, then the other keys.
This is malware - not hardware, so please stop telling people to clean or replace their keyboards.

laptop no sound HP Pavilion g6t-1d00 CTO Notebook PC Windows 7 64bit everything enabled. I don't want to try to install wrong code from forum searches.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55036.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

  • Unable to install printer Deskjet 6122 on windows 7 (64bit)

I bought a new HP Pavilion Model HPE h8-1237c running Windows 7 Professional (64bit). I’m not having any luck at trying to install my old HP Deskjet 6122 printer. Drivers on disk and newer downloaded ones are not compatible with the 64 bit OS. HP suggests installing drivers for Deskjet 990c as alternative. That didn't work either. This new computer only has USB ports and not the old parallel one like my old Pentium 4 Windows XP computer. The printer does have a USB hookup, but windows doesn't install the printer as plug and play since there are no drivers available. I've tried installing it running Windows Virtual PC in XP Mode. The printer install software runs fine in the virtual mode until it gets to the "print test page." At that point the install fails to find any printer at which time it completely reverses the install.  Pffft ! !
Help please!      I've been going crazy for two days to solve this problem. I haven't even begun to attempt installing my trusty old HP Scanjet 5530 flatbed scanner. I suspect it will be a similar nightmare as is this current printer dilemma.
Am I destine to have to buy new hardware that’s compatible with windows 7 (64bit)?
    This question was solved.

The Deskjet 6122 driver should work fine on Windows 7 using the DEskjet 990c driver, but many folks (myself included) have been having problems getting the Deskjet 990 driver to download from Windows Update.
You have probably already done the steps here, but if not start with that. If the HP Deskjet 990 does not show up after clicking on Windows Update as shown in step 8 and you get a message that "Windows Update was unable to find a list of devices, try again later" then see the solution here.  If the problem still exists then you can download the driver from the Microsoft Update Catalog site, but this is not very easy to use.  If you need to use the catalog site post back here and I will write up some directions.

  • Help with Drivers for HP dv8315nr for Windows Vista 64bit

Hi everyone! In 2007 i bought a laptop a HP Pavilion dv8315nr with the hope that the stickers in his keyboard saying "Vista Compatible" was true and the promise of that the AMD Turion processor can handle a 64bit OS. Today i realize that was not entirely true, because i got the Windows Vista ultimate for 64bits and the processor can handle this OS but i see that in the HP site don't provide any support for the drivers, so i get the problem that i don't have audio in my laptop and the modem adapter doesn't  work either.
My question is can anybody help me with the audio driver for the HPdv8315nr for windows vista 64bit, that's my priority.
I appreciate the attention for this manner. Thank you
    Jorge

I have the same problem with my Photosmart 7350's--I have two. I cannot get either to work with the New Mac Pro driver--Gutenprint .... I got the new drivers from Apple for HP but they fixed nothing. I even downloaded the newer drivers from HP, but their Printer Assistant does not seem to be working. I downloaded it twice. I can get a test page to print a few lines but the rest of the page is blank. When I try to print with either Pages or Word I get either nothing or trash.
My computer is the New Mac Pro 2.8 8-core with OS X 10.5.4.
These printers work with my Windows machine and I have read where they work with the Mac OS X. Can someone help. The link for printing trouble shooting did not help. My guess is the driver but I cannot get one do show up even after the HP download.
    thank dr_lynch

  • HP Pavilion G6 2230SA Windows 7 64 bit \usb \controller driver

Hi - I'm attempting to install Windows 7 (64Bit) on a HP Pavilion G6 2230SA Notebook which was originally delivered with Windows 8. I appreciate that this is not supported by HP but am simply hoping that someone could help me install the correct drivers which I'm missing? These are:

    SM Bus Controller
    Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
Any help that anyone can offer would be hugely appreciated!

    Hi:
    You need these drivers...
    SMBus Controller:
Download, unzip and manually install the smbus controller driver I attached under Attachments below.
Go to the device manager and click on the smbus controller needing drivers.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that you unzipped.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.  Then reboot.
USB3:   Install both of these and reboot.

  • Installing Firefox with windows 7 64bit mode just does not work.

I have windows 7 64bit mode. I cannot install firefox, it crashes all the time when I open it. I know the problem is because my windows 7 is in 64bit mode. Can you (firefox support) or someone on this forum provide the simple and easy steps of getting it to work. Also can you (firefox) hurry up and release a 64bit version. I'm using google chrome and crazy browser as they seem to have no problems at all. I really want to use firefox but it just won't set up for me because I'm running win7 64bit mode. If I was running win7 32bit mode I wouldn't be having any issues. Has anyone out there got a simple step by step solution for this? It it mind boggling that with todays technology no one has a simple fix for this issue. Help!!!!!

    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.375.70 Safari/533.4

I have been running Win 7 64 bit on an HP Pavilion lap for several months. The whole browser thing has been a nightmare. My work involves heavy duty internet research. Firefox crashes every few minutes. There is no specific event I can find that kicks this off, but running the latest Flash Players and Adobe Reader makes it a lot worse. In fact, I had to set up the adobe reader to not run within the Firefox window. I had to back off to an old version of adobe Reader and Flash Player to accomplish this. I love Firefox. I was disappointed to have to uninstall it as it was impossible to run searches with it.
So then it proved to be that IE either version 8 or 9 was even worse. I could not keep it up long enough to run a search.
So I installed Chrome which has some nice features, but it also crashes, albeit more gracefully so I do not lose my place and it makes a quick recovery but there are many online applications where Chrome just does not work.
My son also has Win7 64 bit and says he is also having the same problems.
I want my Firefox back! Please fix it.

  • Recovering lost Windows 7 64bit

    Hello,
I received a HP Pavilion g6-1325sa Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit laptop for my birthday about 2-3 years ago now and a situation happened a while back which forced me to wipe my hard drive completely, removing the Windows operating system in the hard drive entirely and made me go to Ubuntu as I had no OS. I am now trying to recover my Windows 7 operating system and am having some issues trying to find the right place. I went to the Windows website and tried to download the right operating system and typed in my serial number for the licence that is still on the bottom of my laptop. Windows gave me an error saying that HP are the ones who I need to contact to get back my operating system. Looking through the website, all I get are tutorials on how to restore a laptop with Windows 7 already on it or irrelevant tutorials along those lines, but nothing that helps me. Am I missing the page where I type in my serial number and get back my OS or are HP going to try make me pay for a whole new OS, regardless of the fact that I still have the code for my old one?
    Any help is much appreciated,
    James

What you need is recovery disks and the key (not serial) that is on the COA sticker on the bottom of the computer or maybe in the battery compartment.
If you did not create recovery disks when you got the computer then you will have to order them.
If you live in the USA/Canada, call HP at this number 1-800-334-5144, and see if you can still get a set of recovery disks.  Otherwise the WorldWide site:  http://welcome.hp.com/country/w1/en/support.html
