HP PhotoSmart C309g Printer no longer prints Black Text, Graphics, etc

Hi:
We have an HP laptop.
We have an HP PhotoSmart All-In-One C309g Wireless printer/scanner/copier.
It has been working fine for a couple of years, until 2 days ago.
It will no longer print anything in black (colors and Photo Black work fine).
We have taken it apart...removed all ink cartridges, removed the cartridge caddy,
cleaned all electrodes, replaced the caddy, installed 5 (all) new cartridges,, etc.
We went through the process of removing the cartridges, caddy, shutting down,
removing the AC cord, waiting for several minutes, then doing the reverse process.
When we turn the printer on, it does its auto-check/install, and after about 4-5 minutes
tells us that the installation failed, the to press the OK button.
We went thorugh this process several times, and the installation failed every time.
In the past, installing printer cartridges, cleaning, calibrating...executed quickly.
The printer will not print anything that is Black, whether it me a print from Word, Notepad,
doing a direct copy from the glass, etc....both, with the laptop On or Off, but it will not
print anything in standard Black.
The colors and Photo Black print fine, but the regular Black does not.
The output from the other 4 cartridges are sharp, crisp, etc.
Anything... text, graphics, etc., in standard Black does not print.
Any ideas.

Network printer no longer printing double sided

I've recently set up my airport extreme (AE) base station in bridge mode with my Verizon fios wireless router. I also have an airport express connected to a Brother laser printer via USB. The AE is getting ip addresses from the Verizon router, and I have not yet turned off any wireless signals, so both routers are sending out a signal. In this configuration, I can still send print jobs to my laser printer fine, but the printer no longer prints double sided even when the print settings are set to do so. I've also noticed that I can no longer see the printer status when I open up the specific printer app. for that printer. All of this was possible over my wireless network when I was running a simple cable modem to the AE and the AE was the only router in the house. Could this problem be caused by having two wireless antennas running at the same time or does this sound like another problem?

To try... set a different printer as the default, and have the network printer as non-default selection

Black ink cartridge in my Photosmart c309g-m won't print

I have an HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m printer. The black ink was low so I replaced the cartridge with a brand new HP564 black ink cartridge (not the photo black ink cartridge). The printer will not print the black ink cartridge since I replaced it. I have replaced it with a new black ink cartridge twice thinking that perhaps the first one was bad. I have shut down the printer as instructed and waited. I unplugged the power source and unplugged it from my computer. After waiting the instructed time period, I plugged everything back in, turned the printer back on and attempted to print again. The black ink cartridge still will not print.The color cartridges and the photo black ink cartridge are printing. I have done several clean printhead routines. I even attempted an alignment (this has failed). Now since the alignment procedure has failed, the printer attempts the alignment every time I turn it back on. This procedure continues to fail since the black ink cartridge still won't print! I am wasting all my color and photo black ink! What can I do to correct this problem?The error messages that I received were Oxc19a0007 and Oxc19a00013. I could not find any other solutions for this problem.

I have the same problem as redtailhawk, however no error messages. I have an HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m printer/copier/scanner. The cyan, magenta, and photo black cartridges were all low, so I replaced them with remanufactured HP564XL cartridges from 4inkjets.com, which apparently are from LD Products, which is on the labels on each cartridge. These are what I already had installed, and have been using sucessfully for the past two years or so. The printer will not print using the black ink cartridge since I replaced the other three cartridges. I believe, actually, that I tried to put a document and only the color text printed before I replaced the three cartridges. I tried another remanufactured black ink cartridge, thinking that the one I had installed might have become bad somehow. What I have tried:1. I cleaned the printheads from the printer network page, then did a 2nd deeper cleaning.2. I performed a hard reset by unplugging the printer while it was on, after it got finished performing all tasks, then plugged it back in 30-60 seconds later.3. I verified that all cartridges were properly vented.4. I soaked the printheads in hot water and noticed that quite a bit of ink flushed out of them. However, when I reinstalled the printheads and cartridges, all my ink level went down at least 50%. Before I removed the printhead, I also noticed that there was some black ink on the printhead that looks like it had leaked from the cartridge prossibly. When I run a print quality report or printer status report, I see that the black does not print at all; the other four cartridges all displays their levels. Also, every time I try to align the cartridges, the alignment fails. I do not get any error messages, though. I am running Windows 7 (x64) and printing via USB. I also tried printing via bluetooth as well as using the web services printer, neither of which worked. I also booted into Windows 8.1 (x64) RTM and attempted to print, but I'm having the same problem. Please advise me on what I can do to fix this problem, or if I have to buy another printhead. HP Photosmart 5520 printer no longer prints wireless

Hello.
I recently got an xfinity cable modem with wireless. (Xfinity/comcast promoted it should be faster...I am seriously doubthing that!)
Before this cable modem, I was printing okay with a Netgear router. Never an issue with it. Now with the comcast modem with the Netgear router, I can no longer print wirelessly from my computer or anywhere remotely (ipad, laptop, etc).
I do suspect something with the comcast modem but comcast claims it is NOT them (Yeah, right...works okay flawlessly before and now nothing). Thus if someone can help me pinpoint where the problem lies, I would be greatly appreciated. And of course, one cannot turn off the wireless network in the xfinity modem either!!
Have tried the HP diagnosics but says it cannot establish a 2 way communication. Everything on the printer display looks correct from a wireless standpoint (i.e. sees the router name, etc).

What Comcast forced on you is a Gateway device, modem+router. Call comcast and have them put that Gateway in Full Bridge mode and now connect your router back up and use that. What is the exact Comcast model number they gave you?

Printer no longer prints in black only

My printer just stopped printing in black. Loaded a fresh blank ink cartridge and when it prints the allingment page there is no blank ink. Tried everything that HP doctor has as far as remedies and cleaning. It will not print black ink anymore. Is it time to get a new printer?

what follows is completely beginners question. I'm not even sure I'm in a right place, so my apologies (if I'm not).
I have created a little flyer in Corel Draw. It is very simple and basically contains some black text, small black outlined object and dark blue frame. It prints from Corel to my B/W home laser as it should - black text and object are solid black when printed. However, when I convert to PDF (from Corel's publish PDF option) and try printing PDF file on same printer, black text and object come out dark grey on paper.
So I took my PDF file to a friend. He's office has decent equipment and software for some reason, but they are not into graphics business so hardly an experts as well. First we tried printing PDF file to Canon iR2270 B/W network laser and on Brother HL-4200CN colour network laser and result was same - black elements in PDF print dark grey. Then we opened PDF in Adobe Illustrator CS2 and tried printing from there - and everything printed fine, black was sharp, solid black. But when we re-created PDF from Illustrator and tried printing it from Acrobat, we had same problem.
We tried some other ideas - created new document in Illustrator, printed it fine (from Illustrator), converted to PDF (both saving it as PDF and "printing" it to PDF file as there is Acrobat 7 installed as well) and whatever we did, PDF printout had grey instead of solid black. We also tried different PDF print profiles - standard, HQ, press... same issue.
Document is created as CMYK, and both in Corel and Illustrator black elements are 100% black, with CMY values set to 0%.
As it was tried in different environments with same results, I'm sure there's nothing wrong with software/drivers/hardware, but I'm missing some simple option in settings/preferences.
Does any of this make any sence to you guys? Anyone has idea what am I doing wrong..?

Make a new swatch of black with ALL of the colors set to 100%, not just the black.
I have been testing this on a Brother HL-2070N printer but I've also run into these documents causing problems on our work copier (Xerox Workcenter Pro 275), though less frequently with the Xerox copier. It seems like a lot of people are having this problem with Brother printers so it might be something they are especially prone to. I don't know what program they were created in originally since they're a customer's file but I edited all of the black colors in Illustrator and it's printing fine now.
The files were originally PDF files that were 5 pages long. I've been opening up each page in Illustrator to change the colors and to make the requested changes. After I've changed each page, I create a new PDF by combining the 5 individual pages to get my packet.

Canon Pixma iP4200 - print settings for large black (text) cartridge?

I would be glad of advice as to what settings to use so that my Canon Pixma iP4200 uses its separate (for text) black ink cartridge, as opposed to its 'photo' black cartridge.

Of the four settings listed, the best for text only printing is "Composite Document". Most of the time this will mean that black text will use the black cartidge, as opposed to using CMY to print a black equivalent. However, this can vary depending on the application and the colour value it sends to the printer for its text. PowerPoint can often send it's text data with an RGB value not quite equal to black. Therefore the printer can mix some of the other colours with the black, or use the CMY tanks to print a brownish 'black'.
As for the lack of a text only option, well this is the grayscale setting. Regardless of the colour value, only the black cartridge will be used. And if the text does have some value other than black, it will look less solid as the printer does its best to make the colour look different by using the black cartridge.

HP printer no longer prints Pages docs

My HP deskjet 5650 printer suddenly stopped printing Pages documents this afternoon after completing only 8 pages of a 10 page run. The printer does, however, print from other programs such as Preview, my Mac mail program, Appleworks, etc. So this problem seems specifically related to Pages. I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled HP driver V 3.3.3 (Universal Binary), as the Software Update recommends. This still does not solve the problem. I've rebooted and turned the printer on and off, and even installed HP driver version 2.7.1 which is specifically for the Max OS X, but nothing seems to work. Any solutions?

It turns out that my HP printer DOES reproduce Pages '08 documents imported from Appleworks, but for some reason, it will not print 2 pages of the 10 page document I was trying to print. I looked at the embedded marks and other aspects of the document, but cannot find anything that makes them different and unprintable in Pages.

Photosmart 5580 will no longer print from my wifes laptop, only from the desktop computer

We have an HP computer with a photosmart 5580. We also have a lynksis wireless network set up for the home for all of the kids laptops. My wife and kids used to have the capability to print documents from their laptops. I am not sure if it was going through the wireless network or the bluetooth technology on the laptops. Recently we have run into the problem that they are no longer able to print from their laptops and even from the desktop we have not been able to print. I have had to reinstall the printer onto the desktop 2 times to make the printer work. But then a week or 2 later the computer stops recognizing the printer and I will have to reinstall it. The desktop is only 2 years old but it is barely used since everyone has a laptop. Also a friend of ours says that by doing a disk defrag on the computer that it messes up anything that we have connected to the computer. I strongly disagree with that statement and like I told my wife, if that were the case then the printer would have stopped working last year, but she takes this friends advice seriously and told me to stop the defrags completely.
I am thinking that it may be something in the registry that is causing this problem. Am I headed in the right direction or does anyone else have a different idea to correct this problem?

Well, I think the problem is that the printer is getting a different IP address from the router periodically and the printer software cannot keep track of the printer.
The best way to fix this is to reserve an IP address for the printer so that it has the same IP address all the time. Do you need help doing this?
Unless I am missing something, this system is not using Bluetooth, but the Linksys 802.11 wireless system and defragging your hard drive has nothing to do with it (and is generally a waste of time, anyway).

HP PSC 1610 - printer no longer prints although it goes through the motions

Printer receives command to print and the paper feed engages. However the page is blanh whether it is a test page, a document, or a report. Checked both caetridges adn the ink is ine. Tried aligning the cartridges but an error message was displayed. I have no ida what next to try. Any help would be appreciated

Epson SP2200 printer no longer printing with Snow Leopard 10.6.1

Quite a few users of Epson's SP2200 printer found they may have an expensive brick on their hands after upgrading to Snow Leopard 10.6.1. I was among those who thought my trusty printer was now useless, along with over $200.00 worth of ink supplies. I tried everything, nothing produced any results, Then I had an epiphany. My SP2200 was connected to my iMac via a Firewire connection. Firewire has been slowly phased out in favour of USB2, could that be the problem?. After downloading the SP2200 print driver from Epson's supported printers, I connected a USB cable between my iMac and Epson printer, and selected "System preferences" > Printers & fax> unlocked the app >selected the + sign to add a printer and "viola" there displayed in the printers window was the "Epson" Stylus Photo 2200 printer icon. I eagerly added it to my printer list. This was too easy; still not convinced I had succeeded, I tried printing a photo from my iPhoto library. After a few moments, I heard the sweet sound of my printer come to life, and shortly after that, a printed picture emerged.

Hi TDCP - welcome to the forums.
Printer drivers have taken a hit with SL.
Unless you know for certain that your current drivers are fully compatible with SL, you may need to look for updates in that regard. Same goes for your Adobe products.

I did notice Apple appears to have released an update specifically for Brothers Printers following the release for 10.8...
I don't know if this will help with your problem, but in the event you haven't installed it yet, try choosing software update from the Apple menu to see if it comes up...
I have a Brothers printer myself but have not tried to use it since updating...

Hello and HELP! Recently I switched ISP and was provided with a wireless router which I had never had before. My HP 6310 printer no longer prints off of the computer and HP is telling me I need a new printer. Is this the only way to go as I am on a limited income....Thank you and Happy Holidays! Trekbabe

Which type of connection are you using with this printer?
Is your printer connected with a USB cable or is it a wireless model?
How is it that HP is telling you that you need a new printer?
Has your printer been diagnosed as failed by an HP service technician?
Is it no longer in the standard (one year) warranty period?
