HP Support Assistant (Win 7 x64): Error 1316 on update/install

HP Support Assistant was running and downloaded an update for itself, which doesn't install properly. I am left with shortcuts that no longer work - HSPA.exe is missing.
I went direct to HP site, downloaded HSPA latest version, and tried to install.
I get toward the end of the instal...
Then get this error:
Then HSPA unintalls itself...
Then I get a final Windows error:
I have tried a System Restore, but it doesn't work (no restore point early enough).
Can you help me fix this problem?
(Unlike some other posts, I really LIKE HSPA and want to keep using it.)
I am using Win 7 Ultimate x64 on an Envy 1104-tx.
Please help!!

Unfortunately, it doesn't fix the problem because now it won't install via Control Panel:
I select the HPSA and ask to uninstall:
I get the message that it's preparing to remove...
Then it "crashes" with the same error as before:
Now what should I do? I would really like to get HPSA working again.
PLEASE HELP

  • Hp support assistant hasn't been able to download updates since day 1

The hp Support Assistant has not been able to download updates since I got the laptop. I have resently tried to fix it.  I have unistalled the old version and successfully installed the new version.  However, it still cannot download the updates. When it tries to get hp updates, this screen always shows up.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi @Carling ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP G61  Notebook and issues running updates to your Notebook. Here is a link to troubleshooting the HP Support Assistant. I would start with the second link marked HP Support Assistant is stuck gathering information.
I would think that it is a firewall or virus protection. Here is a link to Microsoft to make sure your Windows 7 updates have been done.
    Hope this helps you.
    Thanks.

  • MBPro Win 7 x64 Errors

Hi, I have recently bought a MacBook Pro 2009 from a mate who sold it as faulty. The Apple store said it was a faulty Logic Board but couldn't say for certain what the problem was. Having experience with PCs I tried putting an old HDD in to test if it would work and it did. So I bought an SSD and installed Win 7 via Bootcamp.
Last night I upgraded OSX to 10.9.4 Mavericks which installed okay, then I installed the upgrade to 10.9.5 and left it running when I went to work. When I got home I found the Mac had frozen at the login screen with a spinning multi-coloured wheel in the top left corner but the machine was unresponsive so I had to hold the power button down for 4 seconds to turn it off. After I restarted the update installed (again) successfully.
In Win 7 here is the hardware specs of my Mac:
    System Manufacturer Apple Inc.
    System Model MacBookPro5,5
    System Type x64-based PC
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     P7550  @ 2.26GHz, 2261 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
    BIOS Version/Date Apple Inc. MBP55.88Z.00AC.B03.0906151708, 15/06/2009
Having heard OSX was rock solid I booted into Win 7 x64 and looked through the event logs and found these 2 errors which seem to be hardware related:

could somebody point me in the right direction as to how to resolve these issues? My Machine has been upgraded to 8gb ddr3 1333mhz and a 240gb Kingston SSD 6Gbps. I think this version of the Mac only supports 1.5Gbps sata bus, I have downloaded a driver from apple to upgrade the EFI to install faster storage to the 3.0Gbps but they do not support it so I am unsure if installing it will be a good idea.

  • MSI GTX970 Gaming 4g Win 8.1& Win 10 x64 error code 43

Good day. I`ve changed my gtx 770 OC from gigabyte to msi 970 gaming 4g. After windows loaded i have exclamation on gtx 970 in device manager - error code 43. Tried clean install new drivers with DDU. Tried all driver from 344.11 to 344.80. Updated bios for my mobo and video. Reinstalled win 8.1 x64  and win 10 tp - same error :( I was thinking that my card is dead and tried to install win 7 x64. And it works perfectly in win 7, no errors.
Any thoughts how i can make it work in win 8.1 ? (tried to turn of gen3, standby and etc in bios. Hypervisor is not active in win 8.1 too)
    My Pc:
    cpu i4670k
    mobo z87p-d3 (f8 bios)
    ram 2x4gb kingston
video msi gtx970 gaming 4g ( latest bios)
    psu zalman zm600-gsII
    1 ssd and 3 hdd

sounds like there is some kind of compatibility issue
have you tried MSI VGA drivers from smi web for your card?
else ask your mainboard vendor for bios update
    other options/tips:
    * tell S/N of your card and save and upload its current vbios to check for updates
    * test the card in another computer with Win8.1 OS to verify if will works there

My hp support assistance wont run. It keeps stopping during updates and when deleting the temporary internet files. So it never finishes the process.. help

The failure to remove the Temporary Files could just be due to having your internet connection active during the removal process.  For most folks, the amount of data in this directory is minimal.   If you want / need to remove the files, you could close your browser(s), make sure your Internet music and TV connections are closed, and then try removing the files manually:
    Path to Folder:
    C:\Users\--YourAccountNameHere--\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files
    Warning:
Do NOT remove the "Temporary Internet Folder" itself.  Go "inside" the folder before removing anything.

The HP Support Assistant is great when it works -- and not so great when it won't cooperate.  You can try removing the program from your computer and installing it again.  That may work.
Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features >
Scroll down, find, and Uninstall HP Support Assistant.
Restart your computer after uninstalling the existing version of Support Assistant.

Assure that you download and install only the most recent versions of each driver or program.
Save the appropriate *.exe installation package on your computer
NOTE the name and the location - the *.exe file will likely save to "Downloads “
Install the Software / Driver installation package:  If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package(s) and “double-click” to install, else Right-Click, Select ‘run as Administrator’ and install.

  • Incorrect Low Disk Space Warning from HP Support Assistant

I have an HP Envy m7 notebook. I am getting a warning from the HP Support Assistant that the Primary Drive C:  has low disk space. However, my Windows 8.1 Properties box for the C: drive says more that 90% of the drive is free, as I guessed. Why am I getting this seemingly incorrect warning?

    Hi sheryltoo,
Thank you for your query, I will do my best to assist you.
I understand the HP support assistant is giving you a low disk space error, but you have plenty of free space available.
Did the error pertain to a different drive letter other then you main drive?
I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the  The HP Support Assistant.  If you have an older versions installed that may be why you are getting a false error.
Please let me know the outcome.

  • HP Support Assistant not installing graphics updates

I am trying to update my graphics driver through the HP Support Assistant, as it tells me that there is an update to it. It goes through the process of downloading the update, but it doesn't instal. I have already tried uninstalling the support assistant with Microsoft Fixit and reinstalling. I even ran the assistant as Administrator to see if it was a permissions issue. Unfortunately the driver page for my computer (http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-110-000-Desktop-PC-series/5359000/model/5365304/drivers) does not have the new one 10.18.10.3621Ap1/sp67247.
Do I need to delete my old graphics driver first? Is there a place where I can just direct download it and install myself? Is there a location where the Support Assistant downloads it to that I can get it from there? Any help that isn't simply "Uninstall and Reinstall" would be greatly appreciated.
Included are pictures of the Support Assistant and what is happening.

  • HP Support Assistant does not inform about ANY updates for drivers/softwares

Hello everyone, HP Support Assistant is not showing ANY sort of updates/messages for latest drivers and softwares although there are updated drivers available for my notebook at the Driver Software Support section from where you can manually download and install them. I'll be updating all my drivers one by one in the morning but ever since I've bought my laptop I've wondered why HPSA has not came to any benefit of mine yet. Is this a known problem? Help is highly respected!Regards.

Okay so its starting to give updates,  so far I've had 3 updates for HP System Event Utility, Simeplepass and HP Wireless Button Driver.  I guess it works very specifically and on it's own.  No luck on other drivers.

    Hi,
"There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again"
I've got the error (80071A91) that others have experiences while trying windows update and for the life of me I cannot get the updates to install.
Looking for the past 4 hours via Google, trying different recommended things and still no luck

    # SFC /scannow causes the "repair status message" and asks for reboot.
I've downloaded fix-it, tried booting into a system repair/restore disk using command line to run
    #sfc /scannow /offline....
using the dispart to LIST VOLUMES  (based on this http://mikemstech.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/how-to-perform-offline-system-integrity.html )
I've tried #fsutils resourse set autorevert=true (or something, can't find the exact post as I've rebooted so many times)
I've tried dismc.exe (or similar without success)
Basically I'm stuck with these updates (~10 of them) always sitting there downloading, installing every time I shut down the PC.
Running a system repair disk created in windows still does not allow #sfc /scannow....
My Last system restore was 04/08/14 and I cannot even restore the system to this point as the restore fails and asks to remove itself once I restart the system.

**NOTE** I have the C drive hooked up in RAID 0. Two(2) * 60GB SSD disks in RAID 0 used as C: via BIOS RAID
    Secondary storage disk a D:
Been working and updating fine for the past 5-6 months.
I have the Optical drive setup as O: and a Daemon tools virtual drive as drive E:
While running DISKPART and using LIST VOLUME I see this:
currently the system seems to have lost all update history
Any information or help on this is appreciated. I don't want to reformat and reinstall, I don't really want to 'repair' and wipe my current software installation so I'm hoping there is a way.
Anyway I can get the 'pending state' removed.?
    Thanks in advance
    David

Hi, I've rebooted into Repair mode (Console), (because repair said windows is installed on E:) run dism.exe /image:E:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
This gave a message about small scratch space but did say something out a fix. Upon reboot into safemode with console I received the same message
    "C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow
Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.
There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete.  Restart Windows and run sfc again."
I then rebooted and tried SCF again, no luck... Same message, same updates still sitting there.
Partition info: (as mentioned earlier C is in RAID 0 with 2 SSD disks)

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
