HP w2207h

I've had an HP w2207h for years and had to do the "OSD lock out" for it's known issues.  Because of this I have not had sound for years.  I am tired of not being able to play my games so I went to install a sound card in my desktop, I don't have an available PCI slot.  It's occured to me that I have been dealing with a defective product.
Please tell me how to fix the monitor so that I may have full functionality or replace it.
Thank you.

I have read your post on how your monitor is experiencing audio issues, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
I am providing you with some steps you can try below:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
Step 6. Try a different HDMI cable connecting your monitor to your computer
If the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the issue persists. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

  • My w2207h HP Monitor is not working on my macbook pro with hdmi minidisplayport adapter. On Windows 7 via bootcamp it works. What can i do ?

As is said my HP w2207h monitor is not working with a minidisplayport to hdmi adapter and a hdmi cable which is working fine for my PS3. So the cable is not the problem. And on my TV i also have no problems at all activating a second monitor. Therefore the adapter isnt the problem either. When i plug it in the typical bluescreen appears. Then after a few seconds it appears again and there is no second monitor recognized. I also used the "recognize Monitor" button without success. Please help me, are there any special drivers or something like that ?
PS: bought a high end expensive adapter now because the old one was very cheap. But didnt help. Still stuck on the macbook not recognizing anything !

If you have an external drive you can hook up to the MacBook Pro I believe there *may* be a solution by getting an image to the MacBook Air.
On the MacBook Pro with the Windows install disk in the DVD drive fire up disk utility.  Select the DVD and then hit the "New Image" button.  Disk Utility should offer to create a disk image from the DVD.  I would put that disk image on a USB drive connected to the Pro.  You should be able to mount that image when you connect up to the Air.  Hopefully BootCamp will be able to access that all through the process.
If that doesn't work (the drivers don't recognize the disk image once Windows gets underway for its install), you might try copying the installation files from the DVD to FAT32 formatted USB stick or drive and then using that to install Windows.  I would expect Windows would be able to see the USB FAT32 drive and I don't believe any file on the drive is going to go beyond 4GB.
I haven't actually tried BootCamp on the Air, since I just use VMWare which has no issue installing from anything OSX can see.  But BootCamp is going to eventually hand off operations to Windows and that's going to complicate matters--Windows has to be able to see the drive.  While I believe there are drivers that let Windows connect to that drive, there's no way to authenticate (or even load the drivers I expect) before Windows itself is loaded--so it's a "chicken/egg" problem.

My w2207h monitor used to pivot very nicely on Windows 7 but after updating to Windows 8 and then 8.1 it won't pivot.  I've been through the various controls but nothing seems to work.  I downloaded and installed what seems to be the latest drivers (64 bit) and it still doesn't work.  What am I doing wrong?

I understand you are looking for the software for your HP w2207h 22 inch LCD Monitor. I am providing you with the HP w2207h 22 inch LCD Monitor Drivers page for your monitor. Simply click on the drop-down box and select the operating system you wish to download the software for and click on the NEXT button. Scroll down the page and you will see your drivers and/or software.
***NOTE: If you do not see your operating system in the drop-down then HP has no software or drivers that are supported and you will have to use the default Windows drivers. This could prevent you from being able to utilize some of the higher functions available to this monitor.

Go to Device Manager and locate the Monitor
Right mouse click and select update driver software
    Browse my computer

  • Monitor hp w2207h

iI have a hp monitor hp w2207h. For some time, when I try to start it, the blue LED flashes constantly. For a while, the monitor screen remained black, then turn it on. Now, however, does not turn on its own, leaving only the blue LED flashes. I already tried to connect it to other operating systems (windows vista, seven and ubuntu) and thus also different video cards but the problem is not resolved then it is certainly the monitor. I also replaced the cables but nothing has changed.

    Hello Tambaro,
I understand your monitor will not turn on but the blue LED light just flashes, is that correct? I will be happy to help you.
You have done all the necessary troubleshooting that you can do with a monitor. If the monitor is still covered by HP’s warranty you have them replace it. If it's out of warranty you might be better off replacing the monitor.  Some local technicians might be willing to have a look at it so that is always an option.
If you are not sure about the warranty insert the monitors information in this link to confirm.
Please respond back at your earliest convenience.

  • HP w2207h with Mac Mini screen clipping trouble?

    Hi,
My HP monitor is connected to the Mac Mini using the HDMI cable. The monitor seems to almost be working right. The only problem is the edges of the screen are cut off in the monitor. The Apple menu bar is completely cut off at the top and part of the Dock is cut off at the bottom. I have cycled through every resolution available in the Display settings in the Systems Preferences. I have also tried to use the physical menu on the monitor with no luck. I cannot seem to fix this. Any solutions?

  • Inspiron 3847 losing video output to HP w2207h via HDMI and Analog upon Restart

I recently purchased an Inspiron 3847 and hooked it up to an HP w2207h monitor by VGA and HDMI. Twice I have installed new software and upon restart I lose all video output. The computer is running, but I am unable to get video to my monitor to use it.
I am not sure where to go from here, as I have hooked up my laptop to the monitor also by VGA and HDMI and the monitor works fine?

    * Turn the Inspiron 3847 and the W2207H off
    * Disconnect the VGA cable from both the Inspiron 3847 and the W2207H
    * This leaves only the HDMI cable connecting the Inspiron 3847 to the W2207H
    * Turn the Inspiron 3847 and the W2207H on. Does anything appear on the W2207H? If yes, allow it to boot all the way into windows
    * When done, restart the Inspiron 3847. What happens?

  • Problem with Mac mini and HP w2207h

I have a new Mac mini and a HP w2207h screen. I have a problem with the resolution. The screen wants to be on 1680x1050, but when i turn that mode on, the screen is just blinking and you can't see anything. so i have to use the 1080p modus. But it's kind of blury. Can anyone help? Does apple has some kind of support mail??

Don't waste your time or money on the adaptors. I have a hp 2207h and I tried th dvi to hdmi and the dvi to vga, neither work, I still don't have a working monitor. Waited on the phone for tech support for 30 minutes. Then got a total line of crap.
This monitor works flawlessly with my comcast motorola hd cable box, with my sony dvd player, with my toshiba laptop, with my hp computer. But will not work with a mac mini... The only logical reason given the wide varity of equipment it will work on, is that apple does not support HDMI standards, if they did, it would work.
The apple does work on my 40 in tv. But thats not where I want it. So, this is useless to me. And after the line of crap I got from tech support, I'm thinking about quiting apple all together.
This ***, I was really excited about my first apple computer. Now after 4 hours, and nothing but frustration and no support at all from apple, I'm thinking about giving up and sticking with PC's from here on out. Worst experiance ever.
I may even switch to android and chuck my 4...
