pLs help me.
thanks !

Are you using JDeveloper? If so what are you doing with ODBC - Java uses JDBC.
Also can you explain what you are trying to do and what steps are you following?
Check out this tutorial to get started with DB connection:

  • Slow SQL Apply on Logical Standby Database in Oracle10g

    Hi,
    We are using Oracle 10g Logical Standby database in our production farm but whenever there is bulk data load (5-6 GB data) on the primary database, the logical standby seems to be hung. It takes days to apply the 5-6 GB data on the logical standby.
    Can anybody give me some pointers how can I make my SQL Apply fast on the logical standby for bulk data.
    Thanks

    Hi there,
    I've a similar problem. I did an insert of 700k on a table. It takes me over 1 1/2 hours to see the data. Notice, I increased the "max_sga" to 300m and "max_servers" to 25" and didn't help the performance at all.
    My version is 10.2.0.3 with the patch 6081550.

    http://localhost:1158/emHere it is 1158. For the 2nd db, there would be another port number assigned. All you have to do is to use the correct port number and you would eb able to use the 2nd db with EM. All the port numbers are in teh files, portlist.ini which will be under Oracle_home/install folder.

  • Exception while creating Database in oracle10g Solaris 10 using DBCA

    hi,

    After this i have executed dbca. i get the message ---Exception in thread "main".
    Can anybody kindly suggest me in resolving it.

    Can you run any other x-applications (eg. xclock)?
    Usually DBCA will give an appropriate error if it is a display issue. Can you run any other Oracle utilities, like NETCA?

  • Basic standby database configuration in Oracle10g standard edition

    Have anyone successfully implemented the technology in Oracle8i and earlier known as "Basic standby database" in Oracle10g SE? From the information, that I've been able to gather, this technology still exists in Oracle9i and later, along with Oracle Data Guard.
    I'm not interested in the complete Data Guard environment - only the standby database feature as mentioned above. Basci
    I've tried the documentation regarding the configuration of Data Guard (in lack off precise documentation on this technology) - but it's very confusing what's possible on SE an EE editions.
    I've followed all the guidelines, enabled archive logging on primary database, created standby control file, copied the primary database files, created the pfile from the primary database - and then used this as the source for the spfile on the standby database.
    I can then mount the standby database and start the recovery process with the following command:
    alter database recover standby database disconnect;
    The database is altered but no archive is applied (I've manually copied the archive logs from the primary). I've configured the standby_archive_dest - but the status for the MRP0 process keeps saying: WAITING_FOR_LOG
    It seems like the "automatic" recovery mode doesn't work on SE. My conclusion is that you'll have to do everything manually - which means that I've have run the recover command manually - everytime I want to apply the archive logs from the primary.
    Does anyone have a complete how-to-guide on this issue or have tried implementing in a real solution?

    Hi,
    >>The database is altered but no archive is applied (I've manually copied the archive logs from the primary). I've configured the standby_archive_dest - but the status for the MRP0 process keeps saying: WAITING_FOR_LOG
    because ur using standard edition and in this edition the archivelog will not automatically move to standby from primary database.so u have to automatically transfer and apply it.

  • Unexpected Database Connector Error when rpt has parameters (CR4JE)

    Hello,
    I am trying to call a crystal report from my web-based JBoss application.  If the report does not have a parameter, the report is displayed just fine.  When the report has a parameter, a parameter screen is displayed. Respected Sir's
    I have to create stand by database in oracle 10g i am working on (Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Prod) .Plz any body provide steps required for creating stand by database in oracle10g.Both the database db1 and db2 are running on archivelog.I am confuse how to set archivelog parameter that goes to db2(standby database) from db(primary database).Any one provide me steps to properly configuring the stand by database.
    Thanks

    Respected Sir
    These are the detailed steps that i performed on standby and primary database.
    On both the systems i install the oracle in E drive and the database i create in G drive and archive destination also in G drive.
    Like G:\prod1\(all the datafiles,logfiles and control file).
    G:\arch\(all the archive files).
    ON PRIMARY DATABASE(IP:192.168.2.14):
    1.First i create a database with DBCA and the database SID is prod1.
    2.Put the database in archive mode and also enable the force logging.
    3.Shutdown the Primary database and modify the following parameters in pfile.
    log_archive_dest_1='LOCATION=G:\ARCH'
    log_archive_dest_2 = "service=STDBY mandatory reopen=60"
    log_archive_dest_state_1 = enable
    log_archive_dest_state_2 = enable
    log_archive_min_succeed_dest = 2
    4.Mount the primary database and create the standby controle file and create the spfile from the modified pfile.
    5.Shutdown the primary database and take the backup of all the datafile,logfile,standby controlfile ,passwordfile,pfile in a folder.
    6.Startup the primary database.
    Tnsname.ora Configuration.
    Create the connection string using the Net Manager with name STDBY and in host name i provide the IP address of the standby database.
    ON STANDBY DATABASE(IP 192.168.2.9):
    Listener.ora Configuration.
    Create a listener using the Net configuration Assistance.
    1.I copy the datafile,logfile and standby controle file in g:\prod1
    2.Copy the E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\prod1 folder from primary database and past it on the same location on the standby database.
    3.On standby pfile i change only the standby_archive_dest parameter to g:\arch.
    4.Create the service with oradim -SID -NEW prod1 -STARTMODE manuall
    5.Start the standby database in nomount mode.
    6.Create the spfile from pfile and shutdown the database.
    7.Startup the database in nomount mode using spfile.
    8.ALTER DATABASE MOUNT STANDBY DATABASE;
    These are the occurs when i use tnsping stdby on primary database.

    Hi,
    Use JPA - see the visitors example, it uses @PersistenceUnit injection with previously weaved .class entity files.
    You can use application managed EMF's and EntityManagers with code like the following - which is not preferable to using @PersistenceContext injection on an @Stateless session EJB but...
              EntityManagerFactory emf = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("JPAServletPU");
              EntityManager em = emf.createEntityManager();
              EntityTransaction transaction = null;
              try {
                   transaction = em.getTransaction();
                   transaction.begin();
                   Visitor entity = new Visitor();
                   entity.setName(name);
                   entity.setNum(num);
                   em.persist(entity);
                   transaction.commit();
                   System.out.println("Committing: " + entity);
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } finally {
                   em.close();
                   emf.close();
    Use a persistence.xml like the following
    <persistence version="2.0" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/persistence/persistence_2_0.xsd">
