when i go to restore my Ipod on Itunes, i press RESTORE but it go's to a search engine to browse my laptop top. What do i do?? i hjave a lenovo thinkpad x131e which i cannot update itunes on is there anyway i can restore my ipod without using itunes and if so how???? thanxs

If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

If IOS-7 is NOT installed and you have NOT turned on "Find my iPod," do the following:
Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. Right now you can't without a computer. Once you get to a computer you can restore it using DFU mode.
