HT1212 IOS7 password problems on iPhone & OS update problems on MacBook -- HELP!

I've updated IOS7 on my iPhone & I've been asked for my password, which I don't know (I actually don't think I set one).
I tried to sync iPhone with iTunes on my MacBook Pro, however the phone won't work without itunes 11.1 (which I seem to not have). I need to install OS 10.6 version or later on my MacBook Pro, however when I have tried to do so, I keep on being told I need a previous version. I tried 10.6.1 which doesn't work and can't seem to find 10.6.
I have no idea what I'm meant to do to get 1) my iPhone working and 2) update iTunes so it can eventually sync.
Someone help?! I'd be forever grateful!
Thanks

Your Passcode problem is a different issue, but until you update your computer, & iTunes you will not be able to fix that.
An Apple store will restore your phone, or you can use another computer. Follow the directions here:
Force the phone into recovery mode, as described here, and restore it:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
This will remove the passcode.

Iphone was updated to IOS7. It has been locked since password is forgotten . Cannot retrieve mail as it is linked to icloud account. Is there any way to retrieve the password or reset it?

Go to http://iforgot.apple.com (on a Mac or PC) and sign in with your iCloud login. A new password will be sent to your associated email address. If this doesn't work you will have to contact Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com; click' See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'.

  • Problems With iPhone after updating to Software Version 1.0.1

I recently installed software version 1.0.1 and my iphone has had problems ever since. problems i have noticed is that when you press the lock button it takes about 2 seconds to respond, the same goes for when i try to unlock the phone. I have also noticed that when im making a call the screen freezes. I have tried restarting it through itunes and it still gives me problems...

I would recommend doing a reset of the iPhone, and perhaps a restore. If it continues to do that, call Apple for support.

  • Iphone 4 update problem (in itunes)

When I connect to itunes and hit update it says "The iphone software update server could not be contacted" I haven't updated in forever any ideas why i'm getting this?

Sounds like you previously used an iPhone hacking tool such as tinyumbrella that modified your computer hosts file, blocking access to Apple servers such as gs.apple.com

  • Ipad/iphone software update fail on MacBook Pro

Apologies in advance that this will be a bit convoluted. I Try to keep it concise.
I am trying to update my iPhone/iPad to latest software version 4.3.3. This works fine on my MacBook Air, but not on my MacBook Pro (First i& version, early 2010).
I phoned Mac support and been through all their check lists (Transfer purchases, backup, sync, turn off firewall, etc.). I have used disk repair, cocktail and Clean-my-Mac. I have removed everything form the startup menu in the admin account (which I am using) and have disabled/removed all security software.
I am still getting the following error message, after itunes has gone through extracting the software and syncing the device:
"The iPhone "xxx" cannot be updated at this time because the iPhone software server could not be contacted or is temporaily unavailable." (see shot below).
As I am using the same wireless router/network connection for the MacBook Air (which as I said updates fine), it is not likely to caused by router settings, but rather something on the MacBook Pro. As I uses it as my main machine and where i keep my Itunes library, I would like to be able to perform the software updates for the iDevices from there.
Has anyone had the same problem, and possibly a solution. Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    Rebane
This was first posted on MacBook Pro forum, but it was suggested the me to repost it in both the iphone and ipad forum; apologies if this leads to duplication

    Thanks Nick,
    I will try this now.
Any idea though what would the MacBook Pro prevent the auto update, when the MacBook Air has no issues whatsoever. I want to avoid reinstalling the OS, maybe a re-install of iTunes might help.
    Any suggestions welcome.
    Cheers,

  • I changed my yahoo email password and it will not update on my macbook.  Help!

I have an iphone, ipad, and a macbook.  I changed my yahoo email password.  The iphone and ipad updated, my macbook refuses to retain the new password.  I have to enter the new password everytime it retrieves mail.  HELP!

    Howdy, JJ!
I'd suggest taking a look at your Keychain to resolve this.
I have a couple resources that can help with this.
Lion Mail: If your password is not saved
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4903
Open Keychain Access in the Utilities folder in Launchpad. Locate and delete the mail account password item. While in Keychain Access, you can also choose Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid to verify and repair keychain settings.
If that doesn't do the trick, it's probably worth resetting your keychain:

  • Problem with iphone after update

Hey guys, I am having a bit of bother with my iphone. Basically i was given an iphone 3g and I'm not really sure where it came from but it had a vodafone sim, I am on an orange contract so i took out the vodafone sim and put the orange one in and to my surprise it worked,  it has been working fine for months but tonight I decided to do an update on itunes and now it is telling me that the "sim card in this phone does not appear to be supported" and and my phone is stuck on a screen with the usb cord and the itunes logo telling me to connect it, also i can only make emergency calls. What on earth have i done? I no longer have the original sim so cant use that to activate it
Is there any way to fix this? I had no idea doing an update would cause this trouble and atm my phone is useless.
Any help would be very much appreciated,
    Cheers
    Tors,

The problem also appeared for some people after updating to 7.0, and for some after updating to 6.1.3, or 6.1.2, or to 5.1, 5.0, etc. and some first saw it without updating at all. Which argues against it being a software problem with 7.1 specifically.
Restore your phone using iTunes and set it up as a new phone. It you still have the problem it is a hardware failure.

  • IPhone Application Update Problem -- Please Help

So I downloaded the application Aurora Feint. Synced it to my iPhone and all was well. Then apparently there was an update. Instead of logging onto iTunes and updating it that way, I decided to try out the Application Store update feature on the iPhone itself. The problem is that the feature won't work for programs later than 10MB. (Aurora Feint is 20+MB.) So now I'm left with an unusable Aurora Feint update icon on my screen that is just taking up space.
I tried holding down the icons so I could just click the X to get rid of it. Problem is the update icon has no X. Then I tried syncing my phone via iTunes and telling it to remove the AF application. Supposedly it did. But when I disconnected the phone, the AF update icon is still there.
Can someone please tell me how to get rid of the blood thing?

If all else fails, first remove the app from iTunes (delete it), then do a restore of the iPhone. It should be gone after the restore.

Did you check your security software settings to provide contact to the Apple server during the download process? http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3125

  • IPhone 4 update problem ??

Latest update iPhone now showing Pictureof USB cable then an arrow to iTunes ??

Make sure ALL security apps on your computer are disabled when updating, even if there was no problem with them before.
If doing so doesn't help and you've tried multiple cables and computers, there likely is a hardware problem in the phone that requires replacement.
