When trying to restor my I pad mini that has been disabled I keep getting a message saying connection has timed out. I have been working on this for hours. Someone please tell me in the simplest terms how to restore my ipad.

Hi, I just got the iphone 4 and connected to my computer but i am unable to update to software version 5.0.1. It starts to update but then i get a error message that says my internet connection has timed out but i am still connected? I have rebooted the computer, made sure itunes is updated and am still not able to update. Help
Check for any anti-virus or anti-spyware software you might have. Temporarily disable that to continue. Normally this is what will cause a timeout. I assume you have a good Internet connection?

im trying to download itunes 10.5 but keep getting error message that says: There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A problem run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Yes, I had found a similar solution also. I'm running XP Pro, SP3. I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair. Then run the 10.5 exe.
While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess. Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes. Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing. I haven't begun to work on that. -

Well, first, why are you running such ancient versions of Firefox as 3.6? i would immediately update to Firefox 15.0.1 as Firefox 3.6.28 is no longer supported and is critically insecure.
As for the dreamweaver thing, I'm not sure this is a Firefox issue, so I'd check again after updating Firefox. -
Trying to update iphone to 5.0 and after going through the entire download, I get the message that "the Network Connection timed out". Check my network settings. Help!
I have been having this problem for many many months. I switched off my firewall and windows firewall and i am still having the same problems.

I assume you have tried everything here?
iPod: Cannot restore or update in iTunes with error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439
It doesn't mention 1442, but the same troubleshooting applies.
It wouldn't hurt to also try another available USB port on your machine and another sync cable if possible.
Lastly, try restoring the iPod on another PC or Mac running iTunes.
If you know of somebody with a PC running Windows XP still, ask them if you can download the reset utility and use it to reset the Shuffle.

I can log in and use my homepage in IE but I get a session timed out message when I try to log in while using Firefox. the URL is: https://familysearch.org.
I also did one other thing, before I got the reply. I changed my home page from the log in page to the website's home page. Then I can log in after clicking the log in button. It seems that the log in page wasn't allowing me to get into another session. Perhaps this will help someone else. The above solution was good in that it helped me find out all the places I needed to go to erase unwanted cookies, etc. Thanks for the help.
