I am a new mac user and I switch to mac due to the graphics that it brings. I do website in pc and I heard iweb is the best.NOW i heard that iweb will be discontinue. so what is the best application there for website using MAC OSX lion?
It is now confirmed that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
◼ Password protection
◼ Blog and photo comments
◼ Blog search
◼ Hit counter
◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken. If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows. Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.

However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone. How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.

Hi, I have had my ipad air for about a month. The other day I took it out of its cover and it was splintered from the top with downward cracks. It is new and under warranty so I rang the support team. They told me that it would cost about €120 but could be repaired on the spot and they made me an appointment at the local genius bar. I got there and they told me that I had dropped it or banged it or something. I said I had not, they insisted that I must have done. I repeated several times that I had not - it was obvious they did not believe me, they said I must have done. They then told me they never repaired or replaced broken glass in any ipads, that the man on the 'Support' had been wrong. They always replaced the whole ipad at a cost of €300. I was devastated at not being believed and at the amount of money they were asking for. I left and rang the support again. I was told their system was down but to call on monday to get a quote for the reparation, I could send it to my home insurance company and they would undoubtedly cover the repair. I asked how long this was all going to take because, I was in the middle of a big project and this was taking up my time, and also I needed the ipad for my work. They told me it would be done in a minute. I rang on the Monday and I was told it would take up to 5 days to send but probably it would arrive sooner (it is now thursday, I have received nothing). I then rang my household insurance, a big company - and they told me they had never heard of such a cover. I asked if this was because I had a very basic policy, they said, no it wasn't that - I didn't have a basic policy I had quite thorough policy, but they didn't know of a policy in any comany that would cover this sort of damage. I was stunned - yet again I had been given false information and false hope by apple. Yet again I was let down. I then decided to do a further investigation on the internet and discovered a long trail of comments on Apple Forum of people who have also had splintering and cracking of the ipad air glass for no reason whatsoever. Some have commented that the glass could be thinner in order to reduce the weight, some have said that the splintering could be caused by a weakness in the casing at the top where it is plastic (the ones that take sims) that might make it more flexible and therefore liable to crack.
All of the posts and complaints on the apple forum and elsewhere seem to point to a design fault. However throughout all this I have been mislead by apple support staff constantly who all say different things, I have virtually been accused of lying by denying that my ipad received any kind of impact by apple staff and I have been left feeling incredibly frustrated and upset by the total lack of any kind of real help by Apple. All this despite being acomplet apple user in my business for the last 25 years, where I have never come across this attitude towards me as a customer before.
When the screen on my iphone broke, it was because I fell in the street while I was talking on the telephone, it flew out of my hand and smashed on the pavement. I was rolling around in agony, while my son was holding up the smashed telephone wailing 'Mama, you've smashed your iphone!!!' This of course, I blamed on noone but myself - it broke because it fell, I paid an arm and a leg without protest to get it repaired.
This is not the case with my new ipad air. It has splintered for no good reason at all - and noone at Apple seems to want to help me or to care!
I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me if there is anything else I can do to ge this matter resolved?If it was a refurb replacing one that was under warranty, the warrany is good until the original warranty expires or 90 days from replacement, whichever is longer. In either event, it should still be covered if you've only had it for a month. (assuming you're in the US here). You can try to restore it as a NEW device rather than restoring from your backup, but this sounds like a hardware failure... I think. I'm not sure what you mean by "the top half of the screen slides". If you mean only the top half is touch sensitive, how can you determine that? You wouldn't be able to slide to unlock if that were the case...

I have a similar problem with this HG8245, but I can't even see the airplay icon in my iOS devices nor my MB Pro. However, I discover by accident that it works very well if I connect the ATV through the wifi interface (tested with my iPhone 4 and iPad 3Gen both w/iOS 6.0.1, and my MB Pro w/OS X 10.8.2). But as soon as I connect the ATV through the ethernet port, it disappears from all my devices.
So my guess is that there is some issue (i.e. undocumented filtering) between the wifi and the ethernet interfaces. I have reviewed the HG8245 configuration but I haven't found how to solve this. Have you figured out how to solve it? I will try to use some port scanner to see if there is some difference im using the wifi and the ethernet ports and will post the findings. -

I am afraid all apps are tied to the Apple ID they are purchased with and are not transferable.
Your son have to buy those apps with his own Apple ID and start from scratch. -

I reply through the gmail app on my phone and it's been working out fine for the past year. The other day I was experimenting with iMessage on my MacBook and i responded to a few messages from people with iPhones through my MacBook. I didn't like it so I logged out because suddenly I wasnt getting e-mailed those messages like I was before. Now that I'm logged out I can recieve any messages and a friend says that it auto responds with "this person can't be reached with iMessage at this time"
What can I or my friend do? I don't want to buy an iphoneyes other people can send an email to me through their text message app on their iphones and it works fine. theres just one person who cannot and she lives in a different state. i did tell her to delete the entire thread of messages that i have with her but i'm not sure if she did it correctly and may still be replying to a message that i sent through iMessage days ago. i just sent her a message about turning on her MMS. i am also asking her to send the messages to a completely different address that she doesnt have in her phonebook so hopefully that will work.

Hello PC users! I have installed iTunes on my laptop confirmed correct installation by Apple tech and iTunes will not connect. Pswd and user I D have been confirmed, no error messages it just says connecting to iTunes store and it never does. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling using Apple downloads. Still nothing? any clues?

What is the best way to configure my iPods and user accounts?
I'm looking for a little guidance. Here is my situation:
I am running the latest version of Tiger. It is currently configured with three accounts; mine is the admin. account and each of my two children have their own accounts.
My account is the one that is used most of the time. All of our calendars in iCal are maintained here including one for each of the kids. Each of the kids has their own Contacts list in the Address Book as well. I currently have a 5G 30GB iPod Video that I sync with iTunes through this account. Shortly, I will be buying an iPod Touch. I want my 30 GB iPod to be the one that has everything on it; it will be the one we take in the car on trips for music. I want the Touch to have some, but not necessarily all, of my music and all of our calendars and contact information. I am looking to use it to replace my Palm as my PDA.
My son has a 2G Nano which currently syncs through his account.
My daughter will be getting a 3G Nano soon.
I will also be upgrading to Leopard very soon.
Ultimately, I would like each of the kids to have their own iTunes libraries for music and podcasts and to sync their iCal calendars. As I understand it, however, they cannot access their calendars from their own accounts under my current arrangement. I also understand that there are several ways to configure my Mac to work with multiple iPods.
Given all of this, what is the best thing for me to do? Should I set up all of the kids' iPods to sync through the admin. account so they can get their calendars at the same time? Or is their some way for them to have access to their calendar information from their own accounts under Tiger (or Leopard)? And as far as my two iPods (the Video and the Touch), should they sync through separate libraries, or through one using playlists. I also want to minimize duplicate data wherever possible, be it music or records in iCal and the Address Book.

I was told I could sync my music on my pc with my ipad2 by an apple agent. I hooked my ipad2 up to my pc and did so, but now I can not open any of my apps on my ipad2. when I try it just flickers and does not open. Can anyone help?
On you iPad, force close all the Apps in the multitask window.
Follow these steps to force an app to close:
From the Home screen, click the Home button twice.
Tap and hold on the app.
When it starts to jiggle, tap the to close it on by one until all cleared
Now do a Soft reset of your iPad:
Hold both Home and Sleep button for around 10secs until you see the Apple logo then release. After it returns to Home screen, try your Apps again and see if this resolves the issue. -
I have changed my bank account and need to up-date them on itunes. I have been sent an email to up-date them without asking for them and so want to be sure that it is not spam. Can someone tell where i can change this information when i login to my itunes account please?
On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link. If you are doing it on an iOS device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

If you've received an email then if it's not personalised (e.g. 'dear client' or 'customer'), is in poor English, and has a 'verify now' or similar link in it's a phishing attempt to try and get your iTunes account and payment info - in which case you could forward it to Apple :

Welcome to the Apple community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again. -
FaceTime: I have a iPad, iPhone, iMac all on the same apple Id/account. Without changing id/email address can I use FaceTime between any 2 of my devices? It works from iPad to iPhone but not the other way??? I would like talk/see my kids if am away.
