You can go to the pictures folder on your old computer and copy the "iPhoto library" file and copy it to a thumb drive or something like that and then just open it on your new Mac.

I need to find a way to transfer music from my itunes on the pc to my Mac pro.
If they are iTunes purchases then you should be able to copy them over to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases if you have iTunes 11 on your computer) - that should also copy any other purchases over e.g. apps etc.
If it's music from other sources (e.g. CDs) and you don't have them on your computer nor on a backup then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them off : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Before starting the update you may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. -
also, I have most of my songs on my ipod touch. most were from cd's and not downloaded. how can i also keep them?

Thank youThe iphone is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases: FIle>Devices>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything form the old computer or your backup copy of your old computer. -

i just got the new 5s and when i downloaded my contacts from iCloud a lot of them were missing!!!! i tired to make a new backup from my old iphone but it didn´t worked, what can i do to get all my contacts?

I just got got a new phone and want to put my music and pictures on it from my computer. My music is in in itunes and when I sync my phone the music does not come over. What's going on? I'm using itunes ver.11.0.5.5

I would double check to make sure that you have selected the options for syncing. Look over the article below to make sure you have the items that you want selected to sync over.

I just got a new IPAD and transferred everything through the cloud from my old IPAD 2. The new one says "this IPAD is currently being restored. It has been that way for over two hours. Also, I Books opens and then closes right away with no content. Does it take this long, or is there an issue?
I also tried manually underlining a few things on the new iPad and when highlighting a paragraph, it would skip a few lines and the line would go through a few as well. Looks like a major iBooks glitch needs to be addressed here.

authorize iTunes on your new machine for your iTunes store account(s). connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
