HT1296 Unable to synchronise CD music from Ipad to new laptop - anyone any advise?

I have put CD's on my desktop iTunes, synchronised this with my iPad. Now I have bought a new laptop and want to synchronise my iPad music (including CD music so not bought via iTunes) however cannot find a way to do this, can someone please advise?

If you are saying that you want to transfer the music from the iPad onto the laptop because you no longer have the old computer or the CD's, you will need a third party app in order to do that. You cannot transfer non iTunes purchases from the iPad back into iTunes.
Take a look at this application.

If you are asking how to do something different, post back and lease clarify your response a bit.

  • Transfer music from iPad to my laptop

My iTunes has suddenly decided to not accept my iPad2 and is saying I need to restore it to factory settings. I've recently bought a lot of music on my iPad so am keen not to lose that... how can I transfer music from my iPad to my laptop?
I've done lots of searches all of which are saying to download additional software which I'd rather not!
    Thanks in advance

A free app that can also manage music on an iPad is Songbird.

  • Unable to transfer music from ipod to new laptop

I have had to purchase a new laptop and want to transfer my music, etc, from my ipod onto my newly installed itunes, so I can then transfer it onto my ipad.
I can see the music on my ipod, but when I try and drag the music into the library on itunes, a red 'no' symbol is displayed.

The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

  • Transfer Musics from ipad to new itunes

    Hi
I had a problem on my computer and a lost all my libraries from itunes (music)
I've installed the new itunes and tryed to sync all the musics from the ipad to the itunes..
the itunes recovers the buyed music from apple store.. but of course not all my cd's that were in the itunes.
i have them on my ipad if i try to sync i will losse the musics on the ipad (my cd's).
Is there a way so i can transfer my ipad music to the new itunes library?
    regards

When your iPad is plugged in (ignore it if it asks to sync) right/ctrl click the iPad name and select "transfer purchasing..." this will copy anything you have bought from the iTunes store into your iTunes.
However any music you ripped yourself from CD's will not copy over you will need to re-import them into iTunes.
The iTunes setup is so to stop people going to a friends and copying all of their music to the friends iTunes, for example.

  • Transfering music from ipod to new laptop on Windows

I recently got a new windows laptop, because my old one broke. I have installed the most updated itunes to it, turned on the home sharing, and I would like to add my songs from my ipod to this new laptop. Also, it will not let me update my itunes on to my ipod without erasing everything I have purchased?
Where can I find my bought music on my itunes account? Is there a way to transfer everything onto my new laptop without starting fresh? I do not want to buy the same song twice. So I won't use the itunes if I cannot transfer everything into one place, and add new songs from my new itunes onto my ipod.
This has happened before, and I redid my entire ipod. I do not want to spend more money on the same songs.
Is there a list of things I can do that will sync all of my music to my new itunes without erasing my ipod?

1). Connect your iPod to your new computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
Alternatively open iTunes first and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and check the box "Prevent iPods and iPhones from syncing automatically" and choose Ok. Then connect your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are connected and your iPod is safely in manual mode there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. iTunes will only give you the option to copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads etc) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
4). Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

  • Transfer music from iPad to new iMac much too slow

I want to transfer my music and videos, but not my apps, from my 128 GB iPad Air to my new iMac/Mavericks.
I tried to do this by
Connecting the iPad to a USB port on the iMac
    Initiating "Transfer Purchases" from iTunes
Unfortunately, this is ridiculously slow, it would take hours I estimate. For one think I have about 40 gig of apps and that takes forever to transfer. I thought that iMac supported USB 3?
Is there some reasonably quick way to do this? I can't sit around for 8 hours with my iPad hooked up to my Mac, I need it.

There are a lot of complaints about this. The bottleneck seems to be the iPad Air.
Syncing is slower on iPad Air

  • HT1296 How can i transfer music from iphone to new pc?

    is it possible?

if you purchased the music form itunes you can transfer purchased iteams to your itunes library. Or go to itunes store in itunes and under quick links click on purchase and music click on all and down load all on the bottom left. If its music that was imported from cds you will need a third party app.

  • Help needed... Trying to transfer music from ipod to new laptop

I have a 5th generation 30GB ipod with 14GB of music on and I want to transfer the tracks to my new PC rather than having to copy all the CDs to it. I have tried connecting it through itunes and although it show under my devices and I can play the tracks through itunes it won't let me move or copy the tracks to my libary. I have checked the preference and they seem to be all ok.. I am running itunes 7 on the laptop and the ipod software is all up to date. Please can someone help me

If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers has been introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and it won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

  • How to move music from ipad to sdcard

Hi any idea how to move music from ipad to and sdcard without any jailbreaking?
    Thank you.

It is a one way process except for iTunes purchased tracks. For other tracks, and assuming the new computer in a PC use this: http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/index.php

Since updating ios8 I can't synchronise the music from my mac, any ideas?

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?

  • How to transfer music from Ipad to iphone5

Tried to put it in the "cloud", but even if I put the settings the way Apple requires, my itunes do not appear there.  I cannot see any of my music on my iphone5.  I am using the same user id.  Try to upgrade Ipad to ios6 but was unable to do so.  If I cannot transfer the music from ipad, at least I want to open my itunes (purchased itunes) on my iphone5, but I cannot do that either!

You can download music purchased from the iTunes store as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.  If you want to use iCloud to download music that was not purchased from the iTiunes store from iCloud, you will have to subscribe to iTunes Match on your computer. • HT1386 I am unable to synch photo albums from ipad 3 to itunes on my windows pc. In addition to camera roll and ipod cache albums, i have 6 other albums made from pix derived from the camera roll. I have trawled the net for the last 8 hrs in vain!

    Dear Community members,
I am unable to synch photo albums from iPad 3 to iTunes on my Windows 7 pc.
In addition to Camera roll and iPod cache default albums, I have 6 other albums made from pix derived from the camera roll. Eg -  Family pix in a folder, Office pix in another, Plant pixs in another, House architecture pix in another.......all also exist in the camera roll.
I have trawled the net for the last 8 hrs in vain!
I have ios5 on Ipad 3 and the latest Itunes on Windows PC.
As a precaution, I have used the windows "add pictures from...." to keep a copy in a separate folder in the windows desktop, but again it has all the pics mixed up together and not sorted as per the various albums in the ipad!
How to replicate the albums in the windows PC???
    Regards
    Sohal NS

Sync the photos back to the iPad using iTunes. You have to place the photos into a folder from which you sync photos. All photos that you want to sync to the device must be included in the main photos folder and selected to sync each time that you sync.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Click on the Sync Photos From heading in order to select it.
Select the photos folder that you want to sync from.
Select all of the albums or photos within the folder that you want to sync.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
