Have you failed to maintain a backup copy?
You should never update without making sure your backup copy of your computer is up to date.
You can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod to computer:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

Reset and start all over again.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

If you have an iTunes backup that includes the photos you may be able to extract them from the backup using a 3rd party utility such as http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/

  • I just downloaded the new operating system and all my apps are in the App store I cannot move them out and create the icons for them I can just open them

I just downloaded the new operating syaytem and all my apps are STUCK in the app store . I can open them in the app store but can NOT creat icons with them only open them

If they are in your iTunes library, sync them back to your phone.  If not, restore your iCloud backup.  If you don't have one, you'll have to redownload them as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 (however this will not restore your app data).

  • I just downloaded the new operating system and cannot get angry birds friends from Facebook to load.  Any suggestions here?

I just downloaded the latest operating system to my IPad and now cannot access Angry  Birds Friends from Facebook.  Any solutions?

    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
     Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

  • I have lost my Itunes account.. My guess is when i downloaded the new 10.O version that is when it messed my itunes completely up. I have done everything possible to get Itunes back on my computer and it's not working. I have spent 1000$ of dollars and ca

I have had itunes for a couple of years and now all of the sudden I don't. I have submitted several attempts to try and get it back on my Windows XP and no luck. I have purchased a dang Pc 3212 help that just cost me 35$ and that didn't work and I've rebooted, system restore and none of it is working. I'm to mad right now and i just want the darn thing fixed and I am getting so frustrated, this is one thing that I look forward to getting new music and now I have a 25$ Itunes card that I can't even use and why I don't know what else to do. Please fix this Laura

If your library was working on your computer and then popped up empty all of a sudden then this might be what you need...
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • After installing new operating system windows 7 on imac 27, mac stopped working.

We bought new imac 27, late 2012. Installed windows 7, mac stopped working. We restarted mac os, but system cant see hard disk. Cant install mac. What to do?

How did you install Windows 7?  Via Boot Camp, using a Windows 7 system builder disk, or with Parallels or VMWare's Fusion?
If you installed using Boot Camp, it sounds as if you goofed and installed Windows onto the Mac partition instead of the Windows partition.  What happens when you hold down the Option key when you restart the Mac?  Do you see a Mac partition and a Windows partition?
I would suggest seeing if you can use the Recovery mode on your new iMac to reinstall your iMac's operating system if you installed Windows over it by mistake.  Please see this Apple Support document on how to accomplish this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11273?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
If you installed Windows using Parallels or Fusion, I can't help you, as I've zero experience with either.

  • HELP!  may have lost entire iTunes account 1800 songs

My old MacBook just died and will not turn on.  I don't remember what file the songs were saved under, nor do I remember if I enabled the home sharing.  I recently purchased the MacBook Pro and now I can't access my old iTunes account.

The Discussion forum software is operating so poorly at the moment that I can't search for the note posted about 10 days ago responding to a similar situation. When you can, search for the words "tilde backup" in All Categories, posted by Karl Petersen.
It describes how it may be possible to use the backup copy of the project file that iMovie stores inside the project to rescue the project.
If that fails, try importing the Timeline Movie.mov file that's in the project to a NEW iMovie project.
To look inside the package, Control-click on the project icon and choose "Show Package Contents" from the popup menu.
    Karl
PS: the project rescue info suggested at Dan's site is for iMovie 4 and previous, if I recall. It won't work for iMovie HD 5 or 6.

  • Since uploading the new operating system my I messaging wlon't send I've reset it to no avail any suggestions?

    I message won't send!

Without know what troubleshooting steps you've taken, there is a likelihood that people will suggest things that you've already done.
Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?
Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the app?
Have you contacted the app developer?

  • Installed new operating system

I just installed a new operating system and had to re-install itunes. it counted that as one of my "uses" of my music library. how do i reset that so that I am able to use my new ipod?

Hello, Annie, and welcome to the Discussions.
Sorry, but what do you mean by "reset"? You shouldn't have to do anything special, as long as you have your content in iTunes. Just attach your iPod and it should offer to sync to the iTunes library automatically.
You may need to describe more fully what it is you're trying to accomplish.
    Regards.

    Thanks for the quick advice!
Unfortunately, I am still unable to open my core productivity apps, namely Skype and Evernote. Twitter, as well, could not start. But interesting quick fix though, I never knew you could do that.
Here's the error log after the restart:

  • New operating system 7.0.4

Hi, We just had the new operating system put onto my son's Iphone 4.  In the past we had the old 6.0 operating system and in order to see what was running we double clicked on the home button and the running apps would come up at the bottom and we could close out of them .  With this new system, I can't seem to figure out how to see what is running, or how to shut them down.  Help please?

You can double tap the home button the same as before, however to close you swipe upwards on the thumbnail of the app to close. Most are actually not running, they are just a group of your most currently used apps. Only some can still run in the background.

Your post is abit confusing, especially on getting those weird messages and emails,( assumed in your Windows machine.)
Most likely you have Restored the iPod using the new Macbook pro, using the same name as that in your Windows machine, hence the duplicate name warning, as it is trying to sync Automatically.
If you are syncing your iPod to both the Mac and Windows, you must set it to Manually Manage Music, in the first machine that you setup iTunes with the iPod. Read thsi Apple Support Article
In iTunes, Preference, tick on Prevent devices syncing automatically
Hopefully your music are still in both your iTunes library,
Connect the iPod to the Mac
Restore it (just to fix any filesystem corruption by the Windows end)
Set it to Manually Manage Music
Sync your selected songs in your library.
    Whern sync complete, Eject it
Connect it to your Windows PC.
Select the song in the library
    Sync it.
It should work if your ipod Hardisk is not giving any problem.
    Good luck!
