and

Hope this helps,

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Since installing the latest itunes to windows 8 my iphone and ipod touch is not being recognized in itunes, therefore i can't change playlists or add songs etc. Is this a fault with itunes as it was fine with the older version or is there something i can do. I'm not on IOS yet but would like to backup my phone first but can't do that atm due to not being able to view my phone on itunes!
ThanksHi, jodie_0182.

Hi... I really need some help from you guys. My ipod touch is not responding whenever I connect it to my PC. It gives no feedback. The battery image that is shown when I charge my ipod touch doesn't show up unlike if I charge it using the wall charger. I have used different kinds of ports and I ended up with similar things. No response! . However, I can still use my ipod and play music with it. The only problem is its syncing ability is gone. I have only used it for a year now and the warranty that came with it is expired. I hope I can get a good answer from you guys. ThanKs!!!
I am afraid that the solution did not work... the ipod touch of mine seems really not functioning. It receives an electric isgnal from the computer but it doesnt sync at all... Whenever I put my ipod touch off and plug it to my computer it turns on but it doesnt sync... .. Moreover, I have used different PCs so as to try it syncing.. I have used mac book pro and windows 7 laptops but it gives similar feedback, which is NO FEEDBACK at all...

Brand new iPod Touch is not being recognized by my computer
Hello,
I just bought a brand new iPod Touch. I had iTunes installed since this is a replacement to a very old iPod. When I plugged my new iPod Touch to start the very first sync, iTunes crashed and started giving me a Windows 7 error (999). After many frustrated attempts to reinstall iTunes (and a few blue screens in between), I followed a recommendation in one of the postings to delete all the Apple programs in a certain order. It worked and I was able to reinstall iTunes. The problem now? My USB, which at one point kept asking for the software to install the iPod, won´t recognized it anymore. Period. I´ve rebooted several times and whenever I plug my iPod in any of the four USB ports, absoluletely nothing happens, as if nothing had ever been plugged in. I tested the USB with my blackberry and it recognized it. Please help!! Thanks!Ok, I just figured out so I´ll post it here in case someone has the same issue. I turned off my iPod while connected to the computer. Afterwards, the "other" connection showed up again in the device manager but this time it stayed there without disappearing and with the exclamation point on. I then proceed with one of the instructions in this posting to install the driver for the apple mobile which then showed up in the USB section of the hardware (it was never there until now). Bingo! I got my iPod Touch to connect for the first time! But seriously, why should it be so hard???? I'm concerned with the number of postings here. It looks as if Apple is selling the hottest toys but not be the best ones in terms of quality...

My new 4th gen. iPod touch is not being recognized by my PC
When I plug in my new 4th gen iPod touch, the computer just says that it is a USB device that is not recognized, what can I do? My operating system is Windos Vista.
Does the iPod work OK?
Have you tied resetting the iPod? Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Next would be to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore via iTunes. If iTunes does not see the iPod then the iPod is not usable. For recovery mode:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore -
IPod Touch 1g not being recognized after installing iTunes.
Win 7 Ultimate
itunes 9.0.2 64 bit
With iTunes or any Apple software uninstalled the iPod is recognized in device manager under portable devices> Apple iPod. I can browse to it within Win Explorer. All looks normal.
Once I install iTunes and I plug in the iPod a popup informs me that it's imstalling Apple Mobile Device USB driver (and is ready to use). Then iTunes starts up and another popup informs me that device driver was not successfully installed. This time MTP USB Device. It then switches to device unplugged, without touching it. Itunes then reports an error (iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000065). Device manger then reports a warning for Portable devices > MTP USB Devices. The device status reports This device cannot start (Code 10) (Apple iPod went away)
I have tried uninstalling several times. Different iPods. iPod and cable work just fine on another laptop. Updated MB BIOS.
I need some more clues on what might be wrong. Anybody!!Hi, jodie_0182.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -

My iPod shuffle is not being recognized by my computer. It is flashing orange and when plugged in with the original USB cable nothing happens to show the computer recognizes it.
Flashing orange usually means it is being recognized by the computer. The flashing means do not disconnected, because the shuffle's "disk" is mounted.
In iTunes (with the shuffle connected), when you look in the sidebar (left side of window), under DEVICES, the iPod is not shown there? Does it say DEVICES in the sidebar?
