HT1338 click on updates and now have message close safaribto continue I do that but it remains frozen on screen and updates do not finish?

i was asked to do updates and i clicked now i then went on safari  message appeared and said close safari to continue updates idi installation allert remains on screen and updates appear stalled ?

Is there a continue button?
If there is not, try quitting the installer and then try updating again.
