Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases. -
i have just bought a macbook pro and i want to use an ext hard drive with it which i previously used on a windows computer, but when i plug it in it doesn't show up on my macbook pro, I've wiped it and just need to format it but don't know how, any help would be much appreciated
Try the other USB port. If it still doesn't show up in Disk Utility then there may be something wrong with your Mac. Try something else in each USB port and see if it is seen. If the other thing, like a USB thumb drive, does show up in disk utiltiy then the USB ports are fine.
Power down the system and restart with the drive connected, go to DU and see it it is seen. -
I just bought a MacBook Pro today and when I try to open iPhoto, it tells me "You can't open the application on iPhoto because it may be damaged or incomplete." Please assist me.

I subscribe to creative cloud. I run creative cloud on a new dustbin mac pro. I want to know if I can use creative cloud also on my old macpro 1,1 2006 machine - it is running 10.7.5 lion. I will not be running the software at the same time.

The easiest way is to copy the iTunes folder from your old PC to your MB (put it in the Music folder as a subfolder), along with the other valuable data on the old PC. Or restore it from a backup of your old PC. Then authorize iTunes on the MB to the same account you had on the PC. When you sync it will warn you that your content will be deleted, but it will be replaced with the same content from the MB. Before syncing you should also make sure there is at least one entry in iCal and Address book on the MB (assuming you sync to Outlook or equivalent on the PC) to assure that your contacts and calendar entries will move over correctly.
Al alternative that is less effective is to connect the iPhone to the MB without syncing, and choose "Transfer Purchases" from the iTunes File menu. This willl copy purchases music, videos and apps, but not ripped tracks from the iPhone to the MB. -

Are you inserting the redeem code in the App Store or in the iTunes Store? You've received two emails, one with the password to open the file and another one with the file with the code. Are you typing the redeem code or the password in the App Store? -
Well no one out there. I hate to have to take this 13" Mac Book Pro back , get my money back . Seems I'll have to. This is about the third time I have asked for help from Mac (APPLE) and I never hear back from them..
Does that problem happen with some applications? If so, the problem is that you are using applications that are not designed for Retina display. The developer should have done that months ago.
If that's your problem, first check that your applications are updated. If you want to make them look better, you can decrease resolution in System Preferences > Displays, but do not worry, because this does not mean that your MacBook Pro is damaged.
However, if you cannot use your Mac because the GPU is not working correctly, you have to return it and get another one -

I would like to find out i can connect 2 iphones to my new macbook pro. They were both synced with my PC. I have transfered my libary from the PC to the mac but dsont want to lose everything from iphone.
This is always fun.
In iTunes you will need to take some steps.
First connect to the device to the computer.
Click the Store button at the top - Click Authorize this Computer- enter in your Credentials for your AppleID
Once your computer is authorized
Click File at the top left of the screen and then click Transfer Purchases.
Once that is finished
Click on the name of the iPhone under device
Click the Info tab above the phone in the middle of the screen.
Check the box's for the content you want to sync,
Contacts- Addressbook
Calendars iCal Calendars.
Dont need to do mail,
Sync notes - if you want.
Anything in the Advanced section DO NOT TOUCH.
Click apply at the bottom right,
Once that is complete you should be able to sync with this comptuer***
***Note***
Any music that was not purchased from the iTunes store will not transfer only Music Purchased from the iTunes store will transfer.. - so no CD's or Torrented, Downloaded from the interwebz,,
If you want those types of music to transfer you will have to setup a Wireless shared Folder, or a USB/External drive to transfer it over. -
I just bought a Macbook pro with renal display and it failed.
I just got home from the local Apple store with my new Macbook but within 15 minutes of startup the renal screen failed. Is this a common problem?
No - take it back to the Apple Store and have them take a look at it. WIthin 14 days of purchase you can choose to exchange for another machine or get a full refund.

It looks like the strains are unwrapping in its isolating sleeve. By twisting the cord you can get the lump out, but when you then want to store it and wrap it around the charger the lumps come back because the cable is twisted in an other direction.
IMHO the worst way to store, transport, any Mac notebook charger is to wrap the cord around the transformer block as described on the Apple website and documentation. This only leads to the cord braking and as you have noticed some lumps.
I wrap the cord around my hand loosely in big loops never putting any strain on either end of it. I also let the cord hang loose before I start wrapping it around my hand. This allows the cord to twist naturally as I wrap. When un-wrapping I also hold it up to let all the twists work there way out. This has worked for me with all the AC adapters for Mac computers I've owned. -
I just bought a Macbook Pro with Retina and I cant' seem to connect my HTC One X+ cell phone to it. It seems that I have to download the HTC software for the phone called HTC Sync Manager, but app won't open on the Macbook Pro because it's "unidentified." PLEASE HELP! OK Folks i believe i have actually found the solution. I know i am a bit slow but i only got my New HTC One 32gb today (it was free from Three). Like you it would not connect to my Mac or work PC. So here is the way i got it to work. Download Android File Transfer if you have not already got it. Make sure you have USB Debugging setup etc. Now you need to download a free programme called SyncMate. I used SyncMate 4 because i am running OS X 10.7. There is a paid for version of Syncmate but we just want the free version as it seems to contain some drivers that will make Android File Transfer see you phone. Download SyncMate, install it as per usual and hey presto when you plug in your HTC One Android File Transfer should open automatically...BINGO!!! It worked for me which i am really chuffed about as i was just about to ring Three back up to get the phone returned. Let me know if it worked for you too :-)
