HT1338 I am an existing purchaser of Logic Pro 9, is there an upgrade price for Logic Pro X?

Do I need to pay full price to upgrade?

Yes. See this thread... https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5175613?start=30&tstart=0

They will work side by side.

Also, there is no battery percentage. The battery drains quicker than in iOS 6. The high power consumption may be fixed in the next update.

  • Upgrade price for logic X from logic 9

    Hi guys.
I just Bought Logic 9 3 Months ago.
Since i knew where were no news about logic x, no release date or such i expected it to be out at least a year from the time i'd buy it.
Now the new version came out of the blue and i just realized that i threw my money for nothing.
Because of this i think i deserve to get the new logic for free or at least a decent discount price on it.
is there a mail or something that i could contact someone from apple?
    Thanks in advance.
    Alex.

    Fuzz...
I would use the above links to try v.s. MAS feedback.
Try explaining that you just bought it (if you did), the window of time will be key here.
This is how all things work in our economy/market, you woudln't buy a new Car then 2 months later the new model comes out, and go screaming at them for a refund or upgrade. It's just business. If LX hadn't just came out, would you still want your money back for L9? Does it not perform the job/function you bought it for?
The absolute best thing, especially in the world of computers/software, is to research the release history, comments/opinions and so forth, and you can generally get an idea of a new version/products surfacing. Example: Logic X this year was a no-brainer by using Wikipedia, Macrumors, Comments from Apple themselves etc.
As for demanding your rights, you absolutley can demand and will/should have that respect from Apple, read the licenesing and purchasing info, I'm sure your rights haven't been violated, but If they have, then you have an easy case, simply document them and discuss with Apple (provide clear precise docuementation and be professional). Again, if they haven't been violated, then you need to approach it differently (IMHO).
Please don't let the shiny new object obscure your vision, there will be a long road of patches/updates, plugins that are only 32bit being converted to 64bit etc. etc. etc. Honestly, you might want to really look at keeping 9.x for that possibly ugly transition. While 9 still has issues lingering, it's very very stable and training, books, etc. exist right now. However, with that being said, if you don't have any 32bit plugs, you purchased 9 within a resonable timeframe before X came out, then yes, I would agree, try to get the new one.
Example: A few months ago, I purchased the iRig Mini Keyboard while under the special where the more people buy, the more software you get. I got all the iK VI's!!! However, with LX, I can't use any of them. Thankfully, I have L9! There is work in progress to bring iK's SampleTank 3 out soon as 64bit, which will supposedly be able to read all the others sounds etc., but.....progress can be a pain. This is why I decided NOT to purchase LX until I see the updated plugs and at least the 1st patch from Apple, until then I can happily keep playing/tracking my VI's etc. I'm not saying this is your case too, just saying from my perspective.
As for upgrade price: IMHO, the main folks that should get that are the ones that purchased the boxed copies of 9 studio, I know people that purchased it for $500.00 just before MAS released it for $199.00, this was the real kick in the *****. The normal past upgrade pricing was $99.00 (i think) from one to another, maybe that's the key here?
Anyway, that's just my two cents.

  • THIS is why there is no upgrade price for Logic Pro X

Because it's time for people stop stop convincing themselves that software manufacturers somehow 'owe them', just because they've used previous versions.
I've been using Logic in its various forms since 1995 - that's 18 years, kids - upgrading every time, and I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with their being no upgrade price.
    Reasons?
    1. At the full price, Logic X is markedly cheaper than any ProTools upgrade.
    2. It is a very powerful piece of software which can do things I could only dream of being able to do - or afford to do - for many, many years.*
Apple has delivered a piece of powerful, professional level audio production software at the remarkable price of just $200/£139.
Just two days ago people were grizzling about "We haven't seen an upgrade to Logic for years. Has Apple forgotten about it?" Well here it is. And you're still moaning!
Nobody ever said doing professional quality audio was cheap, so for goodness sake let's stop the pathetic 'world owes me a living' snivelling.
If you think it's too much, take up knitting, train spotting/railfanning or something.
No connection with Apple, just a longterm user who  remembers 'the bad old days' only too well and hates the constant whinging about everything!!
    * How many of the moaners actually remember splicing tape or endless analogue bounces to get just 16 or 20 tracks, noticeably losing quality every time?

Absolutely - I've posted the text below in a couple of other threads, but it serves to reinforce your point....
The full price of Logic Pro was reduced during the life of Logic Pro 9 to be only a fraction of the original price.  Thus, the full price today is still cheaper than the old model for upgrade prices.  Net result - just buying the new version when one comes out (e.g. Logic Pro X) costs about the same, if not less than upgrades did in the past, but with the added bonus that if you're a new customer, you pay a far cheaper price first time round.
    Everyone's a winner!
Logic Pro used to cost... $999  After Apple purchased it the price was reduced to $499, once it moved to the App Store the price was reduced to 1/5th of it's original cost at $199... so yes, stop the silly complaining.
I've invested thousands in Logic over the years.
However, I can look at it from a different perspective:
The price whining is a natural development from Apple removing the copy protection, reducing the price and promoting Logic as and upgrade to Garageband. You now have a whole new group of users, many who have never used a DAW and have little respect for the development of this software through the years or the things we used to do as engineers/musicians.... To amateurs the $199 upgrade price is ridiculously expensive to the "entitled" attitudes prevalent today. The fact that Apple isn't offering this upgrade at $50 is reason for storming the gates.
So, place the blame for the whining not so much on the users but on Apple for setting up the conditions that made it possible.

  • APPLE: We Need An Upgrade Price for Logic Pro X!!!

There has always been an Upgrade path for Logic Pro. Where is it???

I've been using Logic since it was Notator 2.5 as well, upgrading every time, and I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with their being no upgrade price.
    Reasons?
    1. Even at the full price, Logic X is cheaper than any ProTools upgrade price.
    2. It is a ridiculously powerful piece of software which can do things I was only dreaming of being able to do 20 years ago. Frankly I think $200/£139 is astonishingly good value for what it can do.
Perhaps people should stop convincing themselves that software manufacturers somehow 'owe them'  just because they're long-term users? Apple has delivered a  piece of professional level software at a remarkable price - for that I'm actually pretty thankful!
Nobody ever said doing professional quality audio was cheap.

  • When looking at my purchased apps within the app store, there is a section for "Not on This iPhone".  How do I permanently delete previously purchased apps that I never want to see/use again?

How do I permamently delete previouly purchased apps from showing up in the "Not on This iPhone" section of the app store?

These apps aren't showing up in iTunes.  They only show up in the purchased list on my iPhone.  But I guess there is no way to hide them in the App Store view?

If you don't want to subscribe to the Creative Cloud & receive all the latest updates, the last perpetually licensed ver is CS6 which you can purchase below.  Unfortunately, CS6 doesn't receive regular updates the way Cloud products do.  Thus you will be using software this is 3 versions back (CS6 Cloud, CC and CC 2014).

  • I got logic pro and i was wondering if possible paying a little less for an upgrade!! or do i have to pay the full price for the pro x?!!!

I got logic pro and i was wondering if possible paying a little less for an upgrade!! or do i have to pay the full price for the pro x?!!!
Or if apple would work around this some way or another?

If you bought Logic 9 less than a month ago then Apple will most likely refund you so that you can buy Logic X instead.
The full (only) price of Logic X is as staed on the App Store. This price (whether people agree or disagree, like it or not like it) is still less than any upgrade price for any other DAW.
A lot of people here are saying they bought Logic 9 6 months or a year ago and want a cheaper price. For me, I started on Logic 5.5. Logic 6, you could pay an upgrade price that was way over what the full app is now but you had to add costs as things like Space Designer were extra. Their serial numbers, once purchased, got added to you XS Key, which was a dongle that never got hacked in 6 and a half years.
Apple, on acquiring Emagic, dropped the price from $1000 to $499, included all the things you had to pay extra for then dropped the price to what it is now once they went over to the App Store. They also dropped the un-cracked dongle.
So myself and a lot of other people here went 5.5 to 6 (added the goodies that were extra) to 7 to 8 and to 9. When there was an upgrade price, the price was around what the app is now.
I'm amazed at how many people see this as a full price and want money off whereas in reality a complete piece of softwaser is being offered for an upgrade price.
My first paragraph will answer your question and you probably won't care about the rest of the post. $199 or £139 IS an upgrade price.

  • How to change an Existing  Purchase Requisition Document in MM.

    Hi Folks,
I want to write a program to change a existing  Purchase Requisition in MM.
I found two BAPI's BAPI_PR_CHANGE and BAPI_REQUISITION_CHANGE , which could be used to change PR document in  ECC.
    I have following question:
    1) why we have two seprate BAPI's for changing PR.
    2) Do we need to use both BAPI's to change PR, depending on what value we are trying to change.
    3) Is it optional to use any of these two BAPI's
Or do we have any other way to implement this PR change process.( Bcoz of when i tried to debug standard PR change process, none of these two BAPI's has been called)
Which FM or method is called when, we try to change and save PR document manually.
I would appriciate, if some one has any sample code to implement this PR change process.

BAPI_REQUISITION_CHANGE is the older BAPI, the one based on the older ERP transaction (ME5x family), while BAPI_PR_CHANGE is the newest one, referring to the "recent" Enjoy transaction (ME5xN family).
They both satisfy you task probably, but if you can chose, I'd go for BAPI_PR_CHANGE.

You can use the first or the second one, it's indifferent. The newest one will also trigger user exits from ME5xN family. Which transactions are used by the users on the ERP? Choose with regards to the transactions used during the normal activity.

Normal PR change operativity doesn't use BAPI. BAPIs are used to create/modify docs from "external" systems (it's not properly true, but let assume it), they provide a simple interface to populate with PR data and the process of creation/modification will trigger every check/userexit already defined for the standard transactions on the ERP.
In example, suppose that in ME51N you defined a custom check in a specific userexit which don't allow an user to create a material item which have odd quantity (odd example, I know ). Then using BAPI_PR_CREATE you will not be able to create a PR with items with odd quantity, because the same check will be executed.

I've tried restarting, clearing all caches, buying and downloading new apps (which works), and also buying and downloading more music from iTunes too (so I update all T&C's etc too, and update all payment info). But nothing seems to solve this. Any ideas?? Thanks a lot, Greg

  • Where can I purchase a Logic Board for a 24" Apple Cinema Display?

My 24" Cinema Display started to flicker and black out shortly after I purchased my most recent MacBook Pro.  Apple felt that the issue was the MacBook Pro so they replaced it.  The problem continued so they suggested I take the Cinema Display to the Genius Bar.  The display was out of warranty and the Apple Genius felt the issue was a bad display even after I told him I smelt silicon burning just before it went out completely.  He said that he could "depot" the unit and have it repaired for ~$600.  Due to the high cost of repair, I chose to purchase a new Thunderbolt Display instead.  Recently, I opened the old Cinema Display and found that the Logic Board is fried.  I have ordered a new board from 2 different Web retailers.  Both accepted the purchase as "in stock" but then stated they could not get the board from Apple.  Where can I purchase the Logic Board for a 24" Apple Cinema Display?
    Many thanks!

I was very interested to read this document.  I think there is a problem with the Cinema Display and that it is frying the computer.
My husband bought each of us a macbook pro.  His was hooked up to the cinema display.  After about a year, his MBP started to suffer intermittent failures where it would suddenly shut off and have to be hard rebooted.  After 2 years, the power or logic board on his MBP completely failed. He bought a new MBP and a Thunderbolt display, and I inherited his Cinema Display for use with my original MBP.
After one month of use with the cinema display, my MBP started to have the same problems.  It has to be hard rebooted almost every time I disconnect or reconnect with the cinema display.  I went to the Genius bar, and they confirmed that my MBP logic board needs to be replaced; I'm just holding out until spring break to take it back in, as they say it may take a week.  Fortunately, I have AppleCare for my MBP.
Our cinema display is 3-4 years old, but it looks like, even though it appears to be working, I should probably get rid of it.  I can't keep frying computers!
I'm posting this because I'm wondering how many others are experiencing this problem.

  • Phone wont sync due to existing purchases

I have been trying to download a prototype app to my phone and keep getting error messages - can't sync due to existing purchases not authorised etc. When I authorise the computer I get a "can't authorise the computer" message. I did this a couple of months ago with no problems.

Have you tried using the reset for network settings? For the wifi to be reset.
And to answer your other question, messages are stored locally and on your iCloud (iCloud uses mobile data to store data) and if you're using a windows pc, use the explorer to navigate to the DCIM of the phone and drag all the folders in there to your desktop (for quick reference).
If its mac then I would use ifunbox or any other similar program that will allow access to the root of the iPhone.

  • Update Supplier details on iSupplier Portal - Impact on existing  Purchasing Documents

I would like to understand the impact of updating Supplier details on iSupplier Portal on the existing Purchasing documents like POs, BPAs.

    Hi,
I think you won't be able to pay for the existing purchasing documents if you end-date a site/address using supplier profile of the iSupplier. Updates to the bank information will have a payment impact as well.
It is always advisable to close the open purchasing documents prior to closing/deactivating a supplier.
You may also perform supplier merge to transfer open purchasing documents to a active supplier and then close/deactivate site, bank etc.
    Thanks,
    PS.

  • Price not picked to  Existing Purchase Order

    Hi,
I have an Issue while converting Purchase requistion to PO Prices are not yet picked.
    1. Cretaed PO with existing Requisition. Prices are picked. For example PO is created on 05/31/2011.
    2. After I have created New Material with Info record Validity periods from 06/01/2011 for same vendor.
    3. Amend this Item to Purchase requisition.
    4. Convert to New PO -Prices are picked, But converting to Existing PO( PO created before Material creation 05/31/2011) Prices not yet picked.
I have analyze the pricing procedure also, no condition record found on Doc date.
Kindly explain why price not yet picked to the existing po.
    Regards,
    Sridhar.

Typically, the prices are taken from the info record rather than the PR. If there is no price is maintained then the system takes from the last PO stored in the info record.
Can you check what is the price date control specified in your info record (this is under purchasing org data 1 view under conditions)? This setting also drives how prices are derived.
