HT1351 I have a new iPod Touch......I was able to successfully set up a new account, but I want it to be separate from the 800 songs I already have in my iTunes library. How do I set up a separate library on the same computer?
I have a new iPod touch; I have an iTunes library of music for an older iPod shuffle. I'd like to set up the iPod touch for my wife with a separate library of music - I was successful in setting up a separte account, but it seems my 800 songs are still there in the library. How do a set up a new account on the same computer without bringing along all the music that will clog up her iPod touch?

New iPod touch, no longer able to add songs via iTunes
Have a new iPod touch, less than a week old. 3.1.2 OS and 9.0.2 iTunes on an iMac.
Was loading songs manually, walked away for a little while, left the iPod connected, now I cannot add songs.
I've restored the iPod, still unable to drop songs onto it from iTunes. I set it to sync checked songs, will not load that way either.
It will load apps, I reloaded the apps, but songs will not go on it. Drive isn't full, after the restore I loaded apps, about 4 gigs worth, and tried songs but nada, zip, zilch.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!Oddness...
Tried adding songs numerous ways, nothing. Walk away for a bit, come back, now I can add songs.
iPod gremlins? Taking it back tomorrow to see if they have any ideas...

I got an iPod for Xmas and it seems to randomly delete some of my apps... Luckily they were all free but I'm scared to buy any I case it happens again.
Are you sure they are not just moved to another screen or folder? Do a Spotlight search for them to confirm thay are actually removed.
All your apps should be kept on your computer, in your iTunes account. You control which apps you want on your touch thru iTunes sync settings. If you have not been syncing to iTunes, and the apps are truly gone, you can re-download them for free from the iTunes Store> Quick Links> Purchases section and then sync back to the touch. -
I just got an ipod touch from my sister yesterday which she has had since October. The battery life went for days with her but as soon as I started checking my email and adding apps the battery doesn't last more than a couple of hours. I deleted some apps but no change. I also kept my email logged in and my notifications turned on so I'm wondering if they are part of the problem. Please let me know what I should do. Thank you so much.

I have thousands of mp3's on my PC. I used to use a Zune, it died I made the move to I pod touch. I downloaded I tunes to my PC and a small amount of my music showed up on the screen. I did a search for an artist for whom I have lots of songs. I tunes can't find him and tries to direct to the I tunes store to buy stuff by him. Unacceptable
So then I went to my windows explorer, opened my folder for the artist, right clicked on a song, chose "play" and I tunes then played it. So now I tunes can find that one song but none of the others in that folder. I don't want to do this drill with all my songs since I have thousands that I tunes can't or won't display. Is this just some cynical move by Apple to get me to re-buy music I already have? -

Anyone know if 3.0 is included on all new ipod touch from now on? If so, does Apple have a history of giving you credit for the software update if say, you just got the ipod a couple days ago? I just bought my first mac and got the 2g ipod touch with it on Friday. Argh. If I had known I would've waited but I was so excited from the WWDC news of the 13" macbook I was stalking for so long that I just bought it! I would like to save that $10 if I could. Anyone know if Apple does such things?
Also, I have a 1g iPod touch that was synced with my windows pc. I figured out how to transfer my paid apps and other apps to the new touch, but it says it can only be linked to one iTunes. Is there a way for me to set it up so I can sync the ipod from my new mac from now on? but keep the apps?
THANKS!Suz, as long as iTunes on both computers are authorized, you should be able to start synching to both. But make sure you do a back-up on your old computer(the one you was synching to all along) before starting to sync your apps to the new one. If you're not sure whether your iTune has been authorized, you can click on 'Store' then go down to the last section where it should say 'View My Account (your e-mail)...'. If not then Authorize it again. Since you may not have all the music files from your previous computer, you should uncheck all sync categories check boxes until you've transfer them by other means to your new pc, otherwise it will erase them from your iPod. The first time you click the sync button(assuming you've already authorized both pcs), a message will pop up asking whether you will want to 'Erase data' or 'Transfer purchases', click on 'Transfer purchases' and iTune will automatically transfer all your iTune purchased songs and apps to your new iTune.

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

I put the wrong birthdate when registering my daughters new iPod Touch. It didn't let me establish a new account because the birthdate was too young. When I went to correct it, it continued the lock her new registration out. Now I can't successfully register her on iTunes with her correct birth year.
i just opened my ipad, started my apple account/I.D. and realized I put the wrong e mail. I was having trouble correcting my I.D on the Ipad so I went to my laptop and make the proper changes/slash e mail address I wanted for my apple ID. I got back to my ipad and try to download an app I can't because I have to sign in my apple account and I can't because it still has the irrelivant I.D/email address..
So, i did what you said.. went to setting>app store> tapped on my e mail.. it asked me to sign in (with my invalid emails address showing). I signed in with the password I had created. It said "incorrect".. I went to reset password. I reset password, tried to sign in and it says again "unvalid password".. this is getting irritating. I have been asking and no one knows what to do. -

There is no "adding" a device. Simply plug the iDevice into the computer. iTunes should automatically detect the device when it is connected.
iTunes can sync/manage as many iDevices as you want... there is no 1 device limit. -
