  • Some ipod songs are not displayed in itunes

I discovered several duplicated songs on my ipod touch, so I connected to itunes (PC), but the duplicated songs were only listed once when viewing the ipod music in itunes. While in itunes, viewing my ipod music, I erased all the music on my ipod and itunes then displayed no listing of any song on my ipod. When I check directly on my ipod, there are still 36 songs on the ipod. These are the ones that are dupilicated when I sync the ipod to itunes. How can I get rid of this duplication, or, How can I completely erase all songs from my ipod?

did you solve the problem? I have the same issue.

  • When I try to sync, it will tell me that some of my songs can not be found, almost 100 of them. Any suggestion how to fix this?

Why when I try to sync to my ipod, it tells me that some of my songs can not be found when they are in my library?

iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

  • My synced bookmarks are not correctly corresponding to what they should be after syncing, how do I correct this?

Hi, I have been trying to sync my bookmarks/tabs from my laptop to a new PC running windows 8 on my laptop and windows 7 on the PC. It took a while for any of the tabs to appear. When the finally appeared on the PC in Firefox, I checked the bookmarks but they do not correspond to the right website ans many are missing. Will this correct itself in time while the data is being synced, or is this a permanent error?
I've transferred the bookmarks many times over the years quite simply in the past, but this time, it has taken ages to work it out and see anything actually appearing on the new device (My PC). I don't know if this is normal or if I should I expect it to take a few days or hours! Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Sorry but I don't use sync. Only one computer.
Press the '''Alt''' or '''F10''' key to bring up the tool bar. Then select
'''Bookmarks'''. Hot key is '''<Control>''(Mac:<Command>)''<Shift> B.'''
Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled
'''Import and Backup.''' Select '''Export Bookmarks To HTML,''' and follow
the prompts and save it to a '''HTML''' file. Copy the file to another computer.
Repeat the instructions above, BUT select '''Import Bookmarks From HTML,'''

  • My iPhone 4s 64gb was freezing so I went to rest menu and pressed the reset all settings it says you will not erase media and data but I have lost all my photos these are not backed up as I just come back from holiday how can I find them?

I have iCloud but these pics are not there, why did it erase them?

The photos could/most likely ARE still in photostream. I just did this with my ipad yesterday.
Log onto iCloud from a desktop in iPhoto and see if they alreaady synced over photostream first.

I made the mistake of resetting my iPod to factory defaults. Now it will only partially sync to my music library. I continually get an error message saying that certain songs are not authorized for my computer, although they are in the iTunes library on the computer and will play. It's these songs that won't transfer to the iPod. I have deauthorized and re-authorized the computer but no joy. Any ideas?

    Hello there DesertRat71,
I was thinking that some of the songs in your library may have been purchased under a different apple id. You have already done the first thing I would have done by de authorizing and re authorizing. To verify this, highlight one of the songs that will not sync over and use File>Get Info. Here is the help menu link for it if you need it help://bookmark='https://help.apple.com/itunes/mac/11.0/help/index.html?localePa th=English.lproj#itns2937'
In the Summary section there will be an Apple ID entry. If it shows something different than what you are currently using then I recommend signing into the Apple ID it shows and authorizing the computer for that one as well.
    All the best,
    Sterling

I have another computer that a virus may have taken over and I cannot log into it anymore.  I just downloaded Itunes on a new computer but most of my songs are not on there.  Is there a way to still access or find those songs?  Remotely or another way?  Or do I need to take it to a tech to get my files off of my hard drive?

Edit > Preferences > Store check Music under Automatic Downloads.
Open the iTunes Store from left hand column, then select Purchasedfrom the column on the right, click the Not In My Library button and select the tunes you want to download again.
That said, you seem to be under a misapprehension as to how iTunes works, or at least how it has worked in the past. It has, until recently, been up to you take care of your purchases once they have been downloaded. You had a one-time download which you were reminded to back up. With the recent change to this policy you can at least download your store purchases again, but having a personal backup of your iTunes store purchases, stuff purchased elsewhere and files ripped from your CDs will still be preferable to gathering all the stuff together again in the event of a disaster.
For a backup strategy see this User Tip.

  • Brand new nano: iTunes shows songs on the ipod that the ipod thinks are not

I first upgraded the firmware on my new 8GB nano, and upgraded my iTunes version, and then uploaded about 4 GB of music.
But I have this weird bug:
For a few artists, iTunes correctly shows their songs as being on the ipod, but then when I browse to the artist on my ipod, only 1 of the 3 songs are there. 2 songs are missing, even though iTunes definitely thinks they're on the ipod. I've tried deleting them and reuploading, but they still don't show up on the nano.
The missing songs are just standard mp3s, and play fine on my computer. There's no difference between the 2 missing ones and the 1 that does show up that I can tell.
Also, another bug is that the nano is displaying one of my artists twice in the Artist listing, even though the name is exactly identical. This is what is shows:
    The Cruxshadows
    Cruxshadows
    The Cruxshadows
The 2nd entry is because I have one song which has a different artist name in the ID3 tags. But entries 1 and 3 are exactly identical - clicking on them brings me to the same exact set of songs.
I never had these bugs with my iPod mini. Are these known bugs in the nano firmware?
      Windows Vista

"For a few artists, iTunes correctly shows their songs as being on the ipod, but then when I browse to the artist on my ipod,"
There are usually two things that contribute to songs not appearing under Artist on the iPod, both due to information either in or missing from the Get Info>Info tab against the song in iTunes. 1) the song has no album name associated with it or 2) the song is marked as part of a compilation.
If tracks are missing an Album name in the Info tab, this information needs to be filled in. The no album one is a bit quirky as the songs will appear under certain circumstances but the simplest remedy is just add None or Miscellaneous to all the blanks in place of a title. See this link for more detail: I don't see some of my songs when browsing by artist on my iPod
Also if the tracks are ticked in the Get Info>Info tab as part of a compilation, they will not appear under Artist on the iPod. Highlight a song in iTunes that you know is not appearing correctly on your iPod. Right click on it and choose Get Info and click the Info tab (alternatively choose Get Info from the File menu), if "Part of a Compilation" is marked untick it and afterwards update your iPod, you should find it now appears as normal. Compilations are stored in a separate folder in iTunes so the songs don't appear inside the normal Artist>Album folder.

  • My Library has ten more songs than my iPod. How can I find out which songs are not syncing?

My Library has ten more songs than my iPod. How can I find out which songs are not syncing?
I recently had to purchase a new hard drive. Because the size of my music collection exceeds 140 GB, I stored all of my music on a separate external hard drive. When I exported everything back into my new iTunes library, I found that I had about 200 more songs than I had in the previous library. After deleting most of those extraneous songs, I was able to get my library close to where it was before. However, after syncing to my iPod Classic, I noticed that only 34,853 of the 34,863 loaded. How can I figure out which of those ten songs in my library did not sync to my iPod?
    Yellow12

It may be that the 10 songs are unchecked. To find them select songs view.
If there is a column Heading marked with a tick then click on it to sort by this column.
If the Column is not there then View > View Options and select the Checked column which will then display
Check the songs by putting ticks in the empty boxes and resynch. Now those tracks should go over as well

Do you have the right boxes checked to sync the music to your iPod?
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
Do they play in iTunes on the computer?
Have you successfully synced music form this iTunes library/computer before?

  • TS1424 I'm having a hardtime syncing my new ipod shuffle, get a message that says my songs are not found

I'm having a difficult time transfering my songs to my new ipod shuffle 4th generation. A message says that my songs are not found. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure what procedure you are using, but you should do it this way...
First, if the sidebar (along left side of iTunes window) is not visible, from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
In the sidebar, find and select the shuffle under DEVICES.  There is a bar with buttons toward the top, starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This is the shuffle's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the shuffle.
Check the box for Sync Music.  Choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Under Playlists, find and checkmark that 12-song playlist.  Click Apply.
Going forward, you can update that playlist (add/remove songs) in your iTunes library.  The next time you connect the shuffle (or click Sync if already connected), iTunes automatically updates the shuffle with the same changes.

  • ITunes says my iPod is synced but songs are not appearing.

I had to start all over with my iPod because all of my files were erased. I downloaded a bunch of new songs and videos and when I sync my iPod, a message appears saying that three of the files cannot be copied. I used to get that before too, so no big deal. But when I look on my iPod, the songs are not there. It is not telling me that it cannot be synced and the bar at the bottom of the preferences page or w/e says that I have 1.60 GB of music, 795.1 MB of video, and 25.42 MB of 'other'. I have already authorized this computer. Why won't it sync properly?

iTunes can "sync" an iPod, and not transfer any songs.  You may need to set up or update automatic syncing in iTunes for the iPod.  Otherwise, syncing may sync nothing.
First, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  When connected, the iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES.
Second, when you set up automatic syncing, the iPod's existing content is replaced.  Any songs on the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.  Is that OK?  If that's a problem, please post back.
Select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar.  To the right, the iPod's Summary screen is shown.  Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music.  This setting enables automatic syncing.  If your iTunes music library can fit on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Then, "everything" (that is music) syncs to the iPod when you click Apply.  Going forward, any changes to the music library sync automatically to the iPod, at the next opportunity.
Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlist, artists, albums, and genres.  Then, select (checkmark) what you want on the iPod from the lists below.  For example, you can have playlists in your iTunes library with songs you want on the iPod.  On the iPod's Music screen, select those playlists under Playlists.  When you click Apply, the songs in your selections sync to the iPod.  Going forward, to update your iPod, update those playlists in your iTunes library (add/remove songs).  The iPod does not need to be connected.  The next time the iPod is connected (or when you click Sync if already connected), iTunes updates the iPod with the same changes automatically.
