HT1363 i have an ipod classic 120gb. it has a white screen although i can hear the sound of the click wheel and even songs would play.but once dicharged ,my computer cannot recognize it please help
I bought an ipod classic 120gb in 2008. once by mistake it went in along with laundry in washing machine. I kept it under the sun to let it dry and tried to start it but it wouldn't.I kept it for charging and it started normally.after around 1 month when it got fully discharged i again kept it for chargin but it showed white screen.Although i could hear the sound of clickwheel and songs too but the screen remained white..Some suggested to replace the screen. Please help
It's likely that the moisture fried some of the internal components of the device. You'll need to take or send your iPod in for service/repair. Apple will do an out of warranty exchange versus actually repairing the device as a third party service would do.

The High Pending Number, indicates some bad cluster, which Hardisk firmware can't reallocate or remapped. This maybe due to, leaving the iPod in a Hot environment, damaging the Hardisk. -

I would think you can. If you don't want them to be synced the same, create a playlist with your daughters music, and one with yours, and configure iTunes to only sych the selected playlists.

Yes you can still purchase replacement batteries your iPod from third party repair companies. Apple does not offer replacement parts.
Do a Google search for iPod battery replacement and you should get a plethora of results. There are many good deals on Amazon and eBay.

If the problem persits after restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod then you likely have a hardware problem. In that case an appointment at the Genius Bar of an apple store or returing it to Apple is in order.

I am using Tiger, 10.4.11 and have an iPod classic 120 gb working fine with about 7 gb of music on it. I just got another iPod classic 160 gb for my wife, and would like to sync it to the same iTunes file, but I got a message which says I must upgrade to iTunes 9.0 or later. If I upgrade to 9.0, will my 120 gb iPod be o.k. with that? Rumor: I have heard that iTunes 9.0 or later changes the format of the music.
Thanks to all for reviewing my question. I am trying to avoid a possible disaster here, having to load about 90 cd's all over again. If anyone knows, could you tell me what will happen if I download iTunes 9.0, and install it. You should be able to, I mean I have a iPod Touch 5th Genertion, and a iPod Nano 5th generation. Works perfectly fine for me for the both of them, it should for you.

I listened to my ipod last night. My son went to get it and it has a white screen that states ok to disconnect (it is not connected to the computer). It won't let me do anyting to it. I tried to hook it up to the computer and it changes to do not disconnect and then won't let me eject it - it says sync is done but it says I can't disconnect because files are being used somewhere else. Then I pulled it out and it goes back to ok to disconnect.

You might get the alerts when visiting a website that has been hacked. Don't visit the site again. If applicable, notify the site administrator of the problem, but don't send email to an unknown party.
If you get the alerts when visiting well-known websites such as Google, YouTube, or Facebook, then they're almost certainly the result of an attack on your router that has caused you to get false results from looking up the addresses of Internet servers. Requests sent to those sites are redirected to a server controlled by the attacker. It's possible, but less likely, that the DNS server used by your ISP has been attacked, but you should assume that the router is at fault until proven otherwise.
The router's documentation should tell you how to reset it to the factory default state. Usually there's a pinhole switch somewhere in the back. It may be labeled "RESET." Insert the end of a straightened paper clip or a similar tool and press the button inside for perhaps 15 seconds, or as long as the instructions specify.

If you ever connected to a secure site and got a warning from your browser that the identity of the server could not be verified, and you dismissed that warning in order to log in, assume that your credentials for the site have been stolen and that the attacker has control of the account. This warning also applies to all websites on which you saw the fake update alerts.
If you downloaded and installed what you thought was a software update, ask for instructions.
