HT1386 I've been trying to update my iphone 4 to ios7 for five hours

Every time I try to restore it from a backup it says iTunes was unable to load provider data from sync services. Reconnect or try again later. I tried it four times and it's said the same thing. We've had trouble with my syncing my phone since I first got it so it's been stuck on iOS 4 because it doesn't sync properly. I've went to an apple store seeking help but all they did was send me an email with instructions saying the exact thing I had been doing for the past year. Help ASAP please!

Reboot both the phone and the computer, then try again.

Im wondering why my post hasn't been answered yet.  I did file a report with the BBB and I had a rude representative from Verizon call me named Steve. He said I can file all of the reports I want and I will just keep getting calls from him.  I can understand why my phone couldn't be replaced because of the small crack.  I guess I have to eat that one (but it sucks because the lollipop update is what caused the problems)  but what about all of the data overage I had to pay for for trying to fix this phone because of a lollipop update.  I dont think it is fair to have to pay that as well. In addition,  because I have an east coast phone number but live on the west coast, I cannot have tech support after 8pm.  Verizon has cut this off.  Im very dissatisfied and I have been a customer of Verizon for 13 years.  Im hoping for a response this time.

  • HT4623 Have been trying to update my iPhone 4 for the past few month now but is not allowing me.

Have been trying to update my iPhone 4 for the past few month but is not allowing me. The update icon is not showing on the screen. Help is need pls.

To update it all you need to do is connect the phone to iTunes and you can then update it.
If you are using anything less than iOS 5, then you can't update directly on your phone as this is not available and iOS 5 is the first OS where this option was available.

  • HT1338 I've been trying to update my iphoto and Imovie for months and it keeps telling my to sign in to the account you purchase it with? It came with my mac computer. I log with my Apple ID and nothing happens but the same message?

I've been trying to update my Iphoto, Imovie and my Moutain Lion software to 10.8 for months. I keep getting a message to log into you account you purchase it with. THe software came with my computer therefore where do I go from here bc it will not update?

Use the Support link on the App Store. http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/
As cbs20 alludes, if you didn't buy it new, those apps are registered with the previous owner. If you are the original owner, the support people should be able to help.

  • I have been trying to update my iphone 3gs to iso 5 but itunes freezes on backing up my phone

I have tried on a few occasions to update my iphone 3GS to iso 5. Once connected it i click to back it up, a box comes up with a bar in it. It can stay like that for hours, i left it 4 hours & it hadn't moved. I deleted itunes all of it. Then reinstalled it & its still the same. Can anybody help solve this problem?
    thanks Jayne

    You have an iPhone 3G.
Apple stopped support for iPhone 3G after 4.2.1. Therefore the highest software version for the iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2nd generation is 4.2.1
Only iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 3 and iPod touch 4 can go beyond 4.2.1.
Also, there's nothing wrong with iTunes.

  • I've been trying to update iTunes to 10.3 for a while now and I keep getting the following message:

The path 'C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple\Apple Software Update\iTunes.msi' cannot be found.  Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes.
I have iTunes already, I've searched my entire computer, every drive, and there is no 'iTunes.msi' to be found anywhere.  How is it possible to get this file?  And if I'm currently running iTunes, shouldn't it exist on my computer somewhere, or is this something new for the update.  This problem started with the iTunes update to 10.2 blah, blah, blah, and now it continues with the 10.3.1.55 update.  HELP!!!!!!

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • Trying to update my iPhone and iPad but cannot connect to server

I have been trying to update my iPhone and iPad for 2 days but cannot connect to update server despite letting it try forever.  What is the problem?  Never encountered this before.

Have your devices ever been jailbroken?

  • I have been trying to update apps on my iPad to no luck.  I continually get a blank screen.  I can, however, still use the other App Store sites.  This has been going on for at least a week.

I have been trying to update apps on my iPad for the last week.   I get a blank screen under updates.  However the other App Store functions work.  Not sure how to fix this.  iPad updates are up to date.

The update server is down; try this temporary workaround
    App Store>Purchased>Select "All"
Note: Look out for apps that have the word "Update"

Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
    Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.

  • "Verifying updated iPhone software" message for 4 hours now, please help!

I'm trying to update to 1.1.1 for 4 hours now, and after downloading and extracting the "Verifying updated iPhone software . . ." message doesn't disappear, nor does it advance or anything.
my phone has never been hacked in any way nor have there been any 3rd party things installed. I signed up as a new at&t customer on day 2 of the iPhone release and never had any trouble till now.
I'm currently overseas and won't be back for the next month. so I've been using me iPhone as an iPod and mail device (wherever I have wireless access) since at&t isn't working here.
could that be why it is not verifying the software and "stuck" in this mode for more than 4 hours now?
I haven't gotten any of the error messages that are mentioned in the other threads, but I'm afraid to disconnect it, as I'm not sure what's going to happen.
    Please help!

never mind. I disconnected it, had to restore it to factory settings, but it all came back and now it's working with the new udpate!
