HT1390 why is the screen blank when i play my rental

I had a terrible day and was looking forward to watching a film I had prepped and rented at noon. I just clicked play on the rental and the screen is a taupe color with black widescreen banners on the top and bottom. no matter where I click on the time bar below, this is the ONLY DISPLAY. WHAT THE ****. Why is it so hard to find an apple/itunes professional to talk to. If you can take my money, you can sure as **** deliver a non-buggy frigging product. I mean, AMIRITE?????

and why are they asking me to choose a community for "ipod touch" "itunes for windows" "apple TV" "using ipad". NONE OF THIS APPLIES. This is so infuriating.

What film is it? Is it definitely the whole movie and not some weird arty couple of minutes of blank video?
If you give the name of the film you may find someone who has rneted/bought it and can say if they've had an issue too.
I would be tempted to restart AppleTV (either by unpowering or holding menu and down keys on remote together for 6 secs), but it may need to redownload/rebuffer if you don't have fast enough internet.
Also, have you used AppleTV successfully to rent in the past?

Why does the screen unlock when using voice dialer on iphone 5S?

Here's the scenario I'm referring to: my iphone is in my pocket with the screen locked and headphones plugged in. I toggle the mic switch and use voice control to place a phone call. On every other iphone I have owned, the screen stays locked. On the 5S, the screen unlocks when the call begins, making the end call button or other phone buttons able to be activated accidentally by my leg.
Why did they change this feature on the 5S? The iphone 5 stays locked in the same scenario. Just updated to 7.0.4 and it still hasn't been fixed. Is there a way to fix this issue?

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

Have you tried a reset to see if that helps ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Something is wrong. When I am typing along, all of a sudden the screen changes and I am no longer on mail but back to the home page. I have checked the batteries in my wireless keyboard and track pad. They are ok. imac semms very hot. I have shut it down and restarted. Any ideas?

I did have this issue a while back. Mine was solved by navigating to the Camera, then clicking Photos and browsing to another photo, then swapping back to the camera icon.
Hopefully it fixes yours too! Otherwise it could be hardware related (rather than software).

My macbook is running very warm. There is a beep at regular intervals. The screen is blank. Does not repspond to any keys. This happened for the second time this week after the screen started to act up.

TS1205 I try to turn up the sound and nothing shows up on the screen like when I play music nothing comes out of the speaker if I plug my headphones in it works but if I take them out no sound comes out

No sound is coming out of the built in iPhone speaker I try turning it up and nothing shows up on the screen if I plug my headphones in and try to turn it up it will show headphones in Middle of me turning it up or down but if I unplug them and try it doesn't work

Hopefully one of these steps should solve the problem.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
    Highlight Internal Speakers
    Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2. Remove the headphone.
    If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
    in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
    Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.

are you zoomed in too far to see that part of the layer that has content? Does the layer you have selected definitely have content? Try using Ctrl/Cmd 0 to zoom back to fit to screen.

Screen Saver when calling and need to use the Keypad, the screen saver doesn't detect the phone has left the ear and blanks out the screen. Even ending a call is difficult as the screen blanks out within seconds

I have to use the Keypad a lot when making calls. Make the call, the Robot then asks to enter a number for a service, pull the phone down from the ear, the screen may light up for a second, but then the screen saver cuts in, blanking the screen out. Sometimes you hit the Home Key to awaken the sccreen, enter your number and then back to the ear to hear the next set of instructions. Back and forth just trying to enter the options is a pain. Sometimes even trying to end the call, the screen blanks out and you fight to try and end a call.
If I use the Speaker function the keypad works; the speakler phone is not alway appropriate.
It appears that the phone gyro, doesn't detect the phone has moved from the ear to the viewing angle. This wasn't an issue until recently and I can't remeber if it's the iPhone 5 or one of the updates. It definitly wasn't there earlier on, as I threw away an Windows 6.5 phone for the same problem.
I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software (design) issue.

It is not the gyro. This has everything to do with the iPhone's prioximity sensor.
Are you using a case that may be blocking or partially blocking the proximity sensor? If you are using the case, remove the case prior to the next call to see if the same occurs without the case.

If you see a lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen - then the screen orientation is locked.
Try the side switch above the volume rocker first and see if that unlocks the screen. If that doesn't do it, double tap the home button and swipe to the right and look for the lock icon all the way to the left.
If the screen is unlocked but still will not rotate, reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the button

I just bought a new MacBook Air a few days ago. I notice that the screen flickers when I scroll and is not anywhere near as smooth as on my old MacBook Pro.

I've experimented with this a little more. I don't think the screen is flickering necessarily but the scrolling is not always as smooth as I remember it on other computers I have used. The text looks jumpy. Maybe it's the operating system? I think it happens more if there is a lot of information to scroll through.
Is this normal?
