    Hello Rbarnett911
Check out the article below for troubleshooting the error 7 message. If that does not work, then remove iTunes and other Apple Software and then install iTunes again.

    Hello raymedic,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:

    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
    Best of luck,

My PC recently got a virus and wiped the hard drive. I used itunes for my ipod. I would like to know if the music i had on itunes is stored on my computer or on the net? So in other words can i still access my itunes from a different computer?

Your purchased music is availble for download again at no cost.  If you have iTunes match service, you can download your matched music.

Still unable to download itunes to my pc. Tried with IE, Mozilla and Google Chrome. Keep getting an error message :"Windows cannot open itunes.exe the file is corrupt contact support."previous itunes files were wipped out by "disk cleaner." Any help??
    Please!
    Thanks!

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

  • I am unable to download iTunes (10.5.2).

I am unable to download iTunes (10.5.2).
When I attempt to download I get an error message which reads:
    "Apple Software Update
Errors occured while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools>Download Only and try installing manually."
I have done the Tools>Download Only and tried installing manually. When I do this procedure I get an error message which reads:
    "Apple Software Update
iTunes has an invalid signature. The download has been removed."
I went to the "Trouble installing iTunes or Quicktime for Windows" help section and deleted Temp folder and restarted the computer, but I am getting all the same error messages.
I hesitate to uninstall iTunes and reinstall because I am afraid that I will loose all of my music, podcasts and pictures.
My iTunes also will not download my most recent podcasts.
Can you tell me what to do to correct these problems?

I never had to uninstall iTunes to reinstall a new version, that included 10.5.  What happens when you try to download iTunes 10.5?
How are you trying to download it? From the Apple website or the iTunes/Apple software updater?

  • Unable to download iTunes 10.7 on my Macbook (using OSX 10.5.8). Thx

Unable to download iTunes 10.7 on my Macbook, hence, cannot use my iphone 5. How could I upgrade my OSX?( apart from buying a new Macbook, thx)

You need OSX 10.6.8 at least.  Read the link below on getting 10.6 at least, then update online to 10.6.8.  Depending upon your model computer you might be able to go beyond 10.6.
Kappy 08/2012 post on upgrading to Snow Leopard, then Lion or Mountain Lion -  https://discussions.apple.com/message/19401628 - including how to get Snow Leopard and Lion since Apple removed them from their online store.
In the future do not buy new devices until you are sure you can run them on your computer.  Read the 8 point medium gray print on a light gray background Apple uses to tell you on each box what system requirements are for each device.

iOS 6 (which runs on the iPhone 5) requires iTunes 10.7, which requires OS X 10.6.8 or higher.
Upgrade OS X on your Mac.

  • Unable to download itunes using firefox on windows 7

I'm using windows 7 and when I click the download link on http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ it brings up the prompt to save and I click save but there is no download performed - the file does not exist and is not listed in the "Downloads" drop down option.
Apple assumes it's downloaded http://www.apple.com/confirm/itunes/thankyou.html and states "Now that you’ve downloaded iTunes, you’re just a few steps away from starting a digital entertainment collection and enjoying it on your Mac, PC, iPad, iPhone, or iPod."
HELLO the download did not occur.
Most site will offer a link that states - if your download did not begin click here and have a means to start it again but not Apple they are sure it's done.
Any one out there know what's wrong with the download page or a way to get iTunes from another source on apple's site?
    -edit moments later
That "thankyou.html" page loading before the end of me clicking save and selecting where it's saving was causing the download to not initiate properly
I saved it as quickly as I could and surprisingly the download succeeded to begin.
Apple website developers should be notified of that error/behavior so it can be fixed - simply don't load the thankyou.html page until the install is completed maybe

See my response in the I am unable to download iTunes with Windows XP using firefox?  I am told it's a binary file and tells me to "save" it.  Once downloaded it does not open up.  Anyone have any ideas why? thread.

  • I am unable to download itunes on 32 bit Vista home premium

I had an older version 9 of Itunes on my Vista 32 bit home premium windows pc and has acquired the latest ios 6 Ipod touch but Itunes dows not recognise it and I was unable to sync it. The itouch driver installed on pc and a message comes comes up shortly that Ipod touch need to download Itunes versin 6.3,1 but i am unable to dowanload it onto Ipod touch itself as it needs to be sync with Itune on PC, but it does not recognise devices. I tried installing update but it does not want to complete and I followed online instruction to uninstall all Itunes and related software which i had done but now I am unable to download Itunes at all. Is there anyone who has a solution to this problem?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I'm having the same problem. I had previously downloaded an earlier version but it's apparently too old to allow me to activate my new iPhone. I tried disabling Download Manager (holding down the shift key); it was disabled but I still got the immediate "Thank You" without the new version being downloaded. Any suggestions? Anyone using Vista able to download this version?
