Same here. I don't know how to solve the problem, but I figured out a way to close the app without re-starting or resetting the phone. If you click ok and then press the home button twice really fast before the dialog box shows back up, you can put the phone in multi-tasking mode and close the app without having the shut the phone off or reset it. Anxiously awaiting the fix for this since I have several apps I use that I can access at the moment.

The screen you're seeing on your iPhone indicates it is in recovery mode. Now since the device is not appearing in iTunes on your PC, first follow the steps in this article:

Hi, I had a clear up of contacts from my iphone but then when I synced the phone they all came back? how do I overwrite the sync with my updated contacts?
There may be several that were bought with your Apple ID. but somewhere in the updates there must be one associated with that other ID.
You can update one by one, until you find the one that requires the other Apple ID. -
i bought a locked at&t phone....
i sent it to be unlocked... got back a dead iphone 5s...
plugged the charger in the wall, it gives me a black screen then the white screen with the apple logo, then repeat....
i tried the dfu thing and now the phone is saying connect to itunes, when i plug the phone outta the wall, the phone goes dead.....

If disabled because of a passcode, and you have not synced AFTER setting the passcode, you will have to force the phone into recovery mode & restore it as a new device. All data on your phone will be erased:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. In your case, setup as "new" will be your ONLY option. -
IPhone 3GS (iOS 5) will not sync, stuck on *backing up* in iTunes 10.6.3.25
I recently updated iTunes to the latest update for Windows, since then, whenever I connect my phone and try to sync it just gets stuck in *backing up* for ages.. if I leave it it will be in backing up for hours. I cannot sync my phone or add any content now. I've been told to try and click the *X* in the progress window at the top of iTunes - but doing this does nothing but freeze iTunes for a few minutes - then it continues to *back up*... frustrating. Can anyone help?

Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if the problem has been resolved.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

restoring my iphone 3gs is not completing and my phone is not working i took it to my local phone shop they told me that the new itunes will not fit onto the iphone 3gs, how can i get my phone to work.
If your restore is failing, there could be MANY issues... You may need to restore the phone back to "new phone" during the restore... PAY ATTENTION HERE... You will lose ALL contacts, photos, videos, voice memos, etc... But you will be able to re-add your apps< and music through itunes. that is very last resort though. if that doesnt work, I would look into updateing your phone. Personally I wouldn't get the 5, just because I dont need the additonal size screen... I have the 4S and LOVE it!! but, do some research, and see what you can find on the matter. But it sounds like your headed down hill fast with that phone... May be best just to upgrade and save yourself the frustration...

My parents are about to recieve an upgrade to their contract which currently is an iPhone. They asked me to sync their iPhone to iTunes to save the settings, should they get an iPhone again.
When I tried to sync the phone, iTunes prompted a software update (this doesn't suprise me as they wouldn't see the need to connect it to the computer ever!)
Naturally, I accepted this update, only for an error to occr. (I didn't see this, my Dad said it happened but didn't note the error code down.)
Then, when I went to use the phone, it said on the screen, "connect to iTunes". On doing this, neither iTunes or the phone had no response. I set the iPhone into recovery mode to restore it from iTunes, and the phone flashed white for half a second and then cut out. I've had no response from it since, tried charging and leaving it plugged into the computer.
Any ideas?
ThanksOddly, I've now fiddled with it a bit more, and I can manage to get the Apple logo up for a short time, but if I let go of the hold button it cuts out again.
If I continue to hold it, the logo turns into connect to iTunes. I do this, no response from iTunes. -
I have a 2013 Nissan Juke. I was able to use my iphone 4S for both bluetooth phone and to play itunes. I have purchased an iphone 5s. The car will recognize the phone but I cannot play itunes in Aux. What is the fix? EmWest

Somehow my iPad got switched for messaging to showing from my email. There is no option showing to use my phone number. How do I get it back to my phone number? This happened when I upgraded my iPhone today, but the iPhone messaging is using the phone number fine. It's only the iPad messaging that is messed up. Help, pls.

I upgraded my iphone to ios 5, now all the music is gone (despite syncing music w/ computer)
I upgraded my husband's iphone to ios 5 on our mutual PC (Windows Vista). Then all the music content was gone. I called Apple. They said I had to change the apple id on my husband's phone to my apple id- since that is where all the itunes is stored (under my apple ID). I did that, synced specifically music, and still says "No Content" when you press the music tab.
On the computer, it shows that the music is taking up space on the iphone (3-4GB are taken up by music), but still no music on the iphone.

I plug my iPhone in and I have it set to sync on sign in to iTunes. I made spne updates to my library by copying a number of CDs I had recently bought and unticked a couple of albums etc When I went in I got all the usual back etc and then it went through the rest of the steps albeit v quickly yet the new stuff wasn't on and the old stuff wasn't taken off. I tried again same thing. I unchecked sync on plugging iPhone in and I got a new message saying that I was using a different library and as I have a new computer and had created a new library I thought this was the problem even though I was using my I store sign in I'd & password anyhow I said yes. So it went through the steps this time a bit slower. However what it did do was delete all the music from my iPhone and did not copy the new music from my computer! Oh deary deary me! Hope anyone can help.
