See
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
- I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

  • My iPod touch 4th gen does not connect to itunes

Okay, so I never had problems with my iTunes until recently. Whenever I connect my iPod 4th gen into the computer, it connects and charges but doesn't show up in my iTunes. My iPod works and everything, it just won't connect to iTunes. I reinstalled iTunes completely like it said in support, and I have restarted Apple Mobile Device, several times. I have the current iTunes 10.4 too. Does it have anything to do with connecting my iPad 2 into the iTunes? Because it was fine up until I had done so. Also, when I check my services the Apple Mobile Device service is stopped when I connect my iPod. Before it, it says running though. My iPod will also connect to other computers, just not my own. All other computers have also not had the iPad 2 connected to it. Any thoughts? I would really like to sync my games and music to my library again, without having to go to my sibiling's computer.

Did you try to create a new user account in Windows, set up your iTunes account, disable autosync and connect your ipod? Try to transfer your purchases and back up manually before your sync for the first time. And don't forget to set up at least one contact and event in Woindows, to ba able to merge contacts and calendars.
If this works, try to do the same for your ipad. If still ok, you might have to remove all Apple related Software for your other account, as described here: Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
Did you also check your security software settings?
    Additional Information
If the Apple Mobile Device Service still will not start, or if it stops unexpectedly, this could be caused by third-party security software. Please follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.

  • My ipodmy ipod shuffle 4th gen does not play whole songs, only parts then goes on to next song

My recently bought ipod shuffle 4th gen does not play whole songs synced to it, only the beginning then goes on to the next song.  What have I done wrong?

I changed the iPod to Disk mode and it just blinks orange while it is connected to the PC. It says that it is synched on the PC screen but I thought the blinking orange light means that it isn't. I took it back out of disk mode. The original problem still exists...when I turn it on, the green light stays lit for 5 seconds then there's no light at all....when I press play the lights alternate orange and green indicating no music is loaded which is wrong since it shows all my songs that are loaded when it is connected to my PC. What a mess.

  • My I Pod touch 4th gen does not display as connected when I enter i Tunes

My I Pod touch 4th gen does not display as connected when I enter i Tunes, although my battery is being charged and my computer recognizes it, the problem persists. I have also tried the apple troubleshoot for this, but it hasn't worked.

What Apple troubleshooting did you try?  This one?

  • I have a iphone4s and an ipod 4th gen, they both share same itunes acc, the ipod has its own email but when people try to FT it also rings on my phone, how do i stop it ringing both devices

That's because you're using the same Apple ID on both devices. On your phone: Settings>FaceTime>You Can Be Reached at>Remove your Apple ID.

  • My Ipod nano 4th gen DOES NOT sound good.... why? HELP

My new iPod nano 4 GB does not sound good. I have tried everything: reset it, record new differentd CD's, changed the earphones and nothing works. Music sounds with very bad quality. Is it configuration problem?, is it itunes problem?, is it a manufacturing problem?. What can I do?
    I appreciate you help

It takes around 2 weeks to get a replacement, a bit less if it is not personalised. Apparently a lot of the ipods coming out of China have audio/visual problems at the moment. Guess they should work on their quality control process.

  • IPod Touch 4th Gen Does Not Sync

Basically had an black iPod 4th generation for 2 years this christmas. It worked perfectly til September last year and the suddenly out of no where it seemed to stop syncing. I click the sync button and it seems to either do nothing and the sync button becomes unable to click again or it starts to sync and then just stops. My iPod is also does not back up, or sync ANYTHING. Im finding this really stressful as i can't use my iPod to the full ability. Ive done updates with my iPod and my iTunes, everything is up to date and i have also tried many other iPods which worked fine with my iTunes, i did this to make sure it was my iPod which was the problem. Some one please help my dodgy iPod!!!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Ipod Touch 4th Gen will not sync with Itunes 11.1

I upgraded my Itunes to the latest version, now I can't get Ipod touches to sync that are 4th gen. Any help?

I FINALLY got it to sync. I had to unplug and restart my computer 3x's then it worked and went like a charm. It was getting to step 2 of 5 in the sync then just freezing. I let it run for 15+ hours the first day.
I do have to ask though since I have a knowledgable person:
My son's Ipod touch broke so I bought a refurbished one. How can I change the ID on Itunes or his touch to reflect his Ipod?

  • Ipod touch 4th gen stuck on connect to itunes and itunes doesn't detect the ipod. tried all options the wedsite gave me nothing is working

I have tried everything that apple.com has told me. I have watched countless videos. I'm at a complete loss. I just want my ipod to work without destroying my computer.
This "connect to itunes" screen is driving me nuts.
    Please HELP!!!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My kids ipod nano 5th gen does not sync to music and gets error 13019 message.  So far done all the suggestions - and now it has NO music.  It seems to download all the music and then error after the last song.

Kids ipod gets the 13019 error after trying to sync.  I have done all the suggestions online and now it has no music and will not sync.
It seems to download all the music and on the last song clicks out and says unknown error.
    any other suggestions?
Kid is mad now there is NO music on the ipod.  At least before it had the old music and just would not download new songs.
All worked on our iphones, and other ipods.  Just hers is wacked.
    thanks

I've encountered the same problem as this recently, but unfortunately i haven't worked out how to fix it yet.
I tried to fit too many songs on my ipod nano from itunes, and it told me it would create a selection of these (titled my songs) and put them on the nano, which it did. I then went back onto itunes to delete some songs so that they would all fit on the nano. I also deleted the "my songs" playlist, knowing that all the songs were still stored under Music on itunes. When i tried to sync the nano it said that it couldn't be synced as the required disk cannot be found.
    HELP, PLEASE!
