HT1420 More information on "authorizationing your computer".

Click on the "show menu bar" and the menu will show on your itunes. Then you will see store. The "store" drop down box will have "authorization". Hope this helps.

I had this same problem but then I went here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL27
And downloaded quicktime and the problem was solved, but if you don't have leopard you may need to look somewhere else; try searching for "quicktime 7.5.5 for (insert version - ex. tiger)"
The only problem I faced was when I opened iTunes it said I need quicktime 7.6 to watch video, but it works for music now so I'm leaving it

    Hi,
Apple Care Level one responders are very Script Led.
This means they try to fit what you are saying into a Software or Hardware issue and into a Apple Care Period or  not.
If you are having problems convincing them it is an Account/Apple ID problem (even though it only effects the Mac's use of it in iMessages) ask to speak to a Level 2 person who should be more knowledgeable because fixing and Id issue is free and not subject to Apple Care.

  • HT1420 The instructions for authorizing my computer are incorrect.  It says to go to iTunes, then Store, ,then authirze, but the problem is that there are no drop-down chices appearing.  How do I authorize my computer?

The instructions for authorizing my computer are incorrect.  It says to go to "Store" and then "authorize" is supposed to drop down, but it doesn't.  Help!

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • Imessage ; "Apple needs more information to complete your iMessage registration. "

installed on top of a clean snow leapord - now my appleid seems broken; the login failure takes me to a web page that goes: "provide them with the following validation code:" and there is no code.
It says I should call AppleCare at the following number... but there is no number :-)
all working fine on my iphone. If anyone can tell me who i should call (i have no idea what applecare is) i would be most grateful. Is there any way this can be resolved without messing about on the phone?
installing Apps with my appleid works ok
    Thanks

    Hi,
Everyone gets AppleCare for at least 90 days from purchase of new hardware  and in some cases software.
You can also buy extended AppleCare for various periods up to 3 years in some cases.
    Apple Support is technically different.
You can phone up and get support on items that are Apple Care related.
However when phoning Apple Support the Script led person may try to package your issue as either Software or hardware related which Apple Care will then try to charge you for.
Account issues are resolved free of charge.
You need to be clear you have an account issue even though it only effects your Apple ID use in iMessages.
The wording may have changed for Yosemite but this is what a previous error message looked like

song is paid for yet message reads "your computer is not authorized to play this song"

    Hi bboywerx,
For that message you would want to try authorizing your computer again:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
To authorize a computer using your Apple ID
    Open iTunes
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.
    Cheers!

  • Constant 27.0 beta notifications. More information link goes nowhere and install doesn't happen. Notifications are really annoying!

I am constantly presented with an "update available" message (27.0 beta) but the update never downloads and the link to more information goes to your "Ooops" page. I see to be on the Beta update path. My browser is currently 26.0.

You may have been previously using a Firefox beta release and currently have the last Firefox 26.0 beta version and not the Firefox 26.0 release.
Download the full Firefox 26.0 version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean (re)install of this version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox application and save the disk image file to the desktop
    *Firefox 26.0: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
*Trash the current Firefox application (open the Applications folder in the Finder and drag the Firefox application to the Trash) to do a clean (re-)install
*Install the new version that you have downloaded

  • Is there a way to make your ipad audio go through your computer

So today, i got the Novation launchpad App, I would like to play the sound, through my PC's(Windows 8.1). So i could hear it through there since i do not have a pair of Ear Buds. Who knew dogs love them. Is there an app i could get?

In the iTunes Summary screen, select "Encrypt iPhone backup" if you want to encrypt the information stored on your computer when iTunes makes a backup. Encrypted backups are indicated by a padlock icon, and a password is required to restore the information to iPhone. You may want to write down the password for your backup and store it in a safe place. If you use a Mac, when you set a password you can select to store the password in the keychain. With iOS 4 and later, you can transfer the iOS keychain backup to a new device if you encrypt the backup.
Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.
If you cannot remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore, choose set up as a new device.

  • What if itunes won't authorize your computer?

what if itunes wont authorize your computer?

    Hi,
You could try deauthorizing and re-authorizing your computer, this worked for me in the past. You can also unauthorize all devices on your account, but I *think* you can only unauthorize all computers on your account once a year.
    Good luck!
