HT1454 iPad connection to HDMI TV
I have an iPad 3 and Sumsung HD TV with an HDMI input. Is their a cable out there that will allow me to connect my iPad to my TV so I can stream video/pictures, etc. to my nice big screen TV? My iPad has the lightning jack and I don't see any HDMI to lightning connectors to support this connection. Thanks for your help with this.

No. The 30 pin to Lightning Adapter does not support video output as per its description in the online store:

Using the Digital Av Adapter, will let you see your iPads screen on your Tv. whatever is on the iPad's screen will be shown on the TV. -
How can I connect my Powerbook or iPad Retina via HDMI cable to 4K digital video camera to be a "control monitor"
That won't work with the iPad, unless maybe there's a "control monitor" app somewhere.

IPad 2 to HDMI - works then looses connection ... any idea why?
I was able to set up my iPad 2 via HDMI adapter and cable to TV and then change the source to HDMI. The system found the source and plays a video for about 20 seconds and then loses the connection. Can't figure it out. Any help out there?
Thanks.I have a HDMI thing and it disconnects very easilly. Try not moving the iPad around and see if that works.

IPad connected to TV using dim not working with iOS 7.0.2
Since updating my iPad to iOS 7.0.2, connecting my iPad 4 using hdmi to my tv is not working.
In fact, when connected, everything on my iPad is in slow motion. The iPad moves in slow motion. And there is no image being mirrored on the tv. This use to work fine before the update. Any ideas?(A) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

SPDIF output is disabled when connecting a HDMI device

I've got a Toshiba SAT U500 with Realtek audio driver. I want to send the video to the TV (via HDMI) and still send audio via SPDIF to the digital receiver. By some reason it is automatically enabling HDMI audio when I connect the TV, and on the SPDIF output (icon on Windows 7 -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound) a telephone sign appears.
What does that telephone sign mean? How to make the system not to disable SPDIF output when connecting a HDMI device?

I recently connected my new ipad to my itunes, but now itunes will not recognise my ipod classic, and 50gig of music has gone. ipad connects ok but no longer ipod which has been there for two years! help!!!
What happens when the iPod is plugged in? anything? any errors?
Why is 50GB of music gone? All music should exist on the computer. Only a fool would rely on a single device which could easily be lost or stolen to store their content on. -
Can not select TV speakers when connected via HDMI
I have a MBP fully updated connected to a Sony TV vis HDMI/miniport. Up until today this configuration was working fine. Suddenly, I can no longer select the HDMI speakers in my audio preferences. They are recognized and appear on the list but when I select them it has no effect. Before today, when the TV was connected the HDMI output would be automatically selected and I could not access the volume control from the menu bar, which is the way I prefer it.
I have restarted with no success in changing this behaviour. If I open/close the lid, the sound goes to the proper settings for about 2s but then the HDMI speakers are de-selected and the built-in speakers are highlighted. I can manually select the TV speakers but the setting has no effect.
However, I *am* getting audio output through the TV but can not control volume from the mac or any app. I slide the volume slider on the menu bar and the audio output does not change. The sound is also playing from the laptop speakers which is highly annoying.and now there is no audio through the TV at all. TV works fine with other inputs such as PS3. Any help?

Remote App on iPad connects but drops after about 20 mins. Need to turn off wait about 1 minute, then turn on wifi on iMac before it can reconnect. Need some help please.

I got my artwork and saved it to my Desktop
Opened up Microsoft Paint and clicked on "File" and "Open" and found it to get it on the screen to resize it
Clicked "resize" and a box for changing it opened up
Checked the box "Pixels" and "Unchecked maintain aspect ratio"
Set Horizontal for 640 and Vertical for 480
Clicked on "OK" and went back to "File" and did a "Save As" and chose JPEG Picture
It came up "File Already Existed" and clicked "OK" (really did not care about the original artwork I found because wrong size)
Went to iTunes and on the movie right clicked on "Get Info", clicked on "Details", then "Artwork"
Go to the little box on the top left that shows your old artwork and click on it to get the little blue border to appear around it and hit "Delete" to make it gone
Click on "Add Artwork" and find it where you put the one from above on your Desktop and hit "Open" and OK and your new artwork is now there and all good.
Sounds like a lot of steps to follow but after around 5 or so you will fly through it. This worked perfect on my iPhone 6 Plus and I have artwork on my Home Videos now. -
How to connect an HDMI monitor as 2nd display?
I want to connect an HDMI monitor to my MacBook Pro to use as my second monitor. I need to know what type of cable to use? I use iPhoto and iMovie extensively and it would really help to have a second monitor. Which port on the MacBook would I use?
If your MBpro has a MiniDisplay port or Thunderbolt port then you buy a MiniDisplay port to HDMI adapter and a HDMI cable. (The adapter will plug into the Thunderbolt port).

Hi, the day before yesterday I turned on my tv which was connected via HDMI out on the mac mini to HDMI in on my TV. Everything was working fine, however I have been trying to set up dual monitoring on another monitor using an HDMI to VGA adapter to my second monitor but nothing was working. I was about to watch a film from the mac to the TV wen I thought it might be the resolution on the hdmi out why it wasn't working on the monitor but was on the TV so I changed the settings and the hdmi to the TV cut out. My main monitor is connected by thunderbolt to VGA adapter and works fine. I can change all the settings for screen resolution on the main monitor and have tried every setting on it then unplugging and plugging in the hdmi cable from the mac to the TV. I get the blue flash on the screen so I know it is being detected but here is where it gets weird.
I figured I would try the thunderbolt to HDMI converter I originally bought for my iMac and again the blue screen flashes up but there is no blue flash or any sort of detection on the TV.
The whole time there is nothing showing up on the screen, even when I unplug my main display from thunderbolt to VGA (the main monitor) and connect the thunderbolt to hdmi adapter and plug in the hdmi to the TV.
I know it's not the hdmi cable as I have tested it on my youview box to my tv and it worked fine.
I also know its not the tv as iv connected my friends windows laptop to the TV using the same cable so it must be the settings on the mac.
I have tried doing a time machine restore to the day I bought it and have had no problems so far until I changed the settings. Why oh why did I mess about with it!!
If anyone can help please let me know ASAP.
It doesn't show up the HDMI output in audio anymore either, however like I say it flashes blue wen I connect the hdmi but seems to have no idea that the HDMI is connected in the display settings! It's so frustrating. I'm going to call the mac support today but if anyone on here hash as any similar problems n fixed them please let me know.
Btw I'm running Mac OS X 10.8.4. I know I can connect via a long VGA cable but that's not really the point. I, at least would like to get my mirrored desktop on my tv back from HDMI!Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

You cannot transfer content between two accounts. The sooner you make the conversion, the better. Just pick the new one and start using it(buying music etc).
*A lot of people open new accounts when their email changes or they have a new email. You can just access your apple id account and change the primary email that you use to log in along with other details. -
My macbook doesn't connect to the Wi-Fi at home while my iPad connects to the same Wi-Fi. When I try connecting my macbook to my iPhone's personal hotspot, the internet works but the issue is connecting my macbook to the Wi-Fi. Please help!!

IPad connects to free WiFi Hotspots, but NOT on my home WiFi network
First, let me say that I have my iMac and a PC laptop working on my home WiFi network with no problems. My iPad connected to my home WiFi network for several months until about a week ago or so, somewhere around the time that I updated my iPad to OS 4.3.3.
In the General settings section I have reset the NETWORK setting several times to no avail. I changed my network SSID twice, and changed my WAP2 password 3 times. My iMac and PC laptop worked like a charm for each change. But, like I said, my iPad has no issues connecting to free WiFi hotspots like at coffee shops, but "cannot join my Clearwire WiFi network" at home.
My guess is that I have an OS issue, but if anybody knows anything better, please let me know.
Thank you.I think the OS issue is with the password because free WiFi hotspots don't require passwords. So, all of my RF circuits are fine. My password is correct because when I changed it in the Clearwire WiMax modem\router, I was able to connect with the new password on my iMac and PC laptop with no problems.
I have a 3 month old Clearwire 4G modem\router. My iPad worked great from the day I installed it. It stopped working around the time that I updated my iPad OS to 4.3.3.
I am hoping that there is an OS fix because I had Clearwire on the phone for over an hour and we re-booted the modem\router several times and reset it to its default values. Again, I have no problems connecting with my iMac or PC laptop. They work like a charm, just like my iPad used to. -

I could be *very* wrong but did not know you could output from HDMI into displayport consistently with no issues.
Try a mDP to DP cable like this (the mDP end will go directly into the thunderbolt port of your laptop)
