I Was on Instagram and I clicked a link that lead me to safari and when I got there a box kept coming up and saying a b c d e f g.... And so on. It won't let me delete the tab and I can't even use safari, can someone please help!!!!!??????
Quit Safari completely, clear Safari and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the Safari app icon. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up -
I Have tried everything and it still won't let me open anything in Safari. I have reset the Mac and router. It's just not working.
This could be a complicated problem to solve, as there are several possible causes for it.
Back up all data, then take each of the following steps that you haven't already taken. Stop when the problem is resolved.
Step 1
From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences... ▹ Date & Time
Select the Time Zone tab in the preference pane that opens and check that the time zone matches your location. Then select the Date & Time tab. Check that the data and time shown (including the year) are correct, and correct them if not.
Check the box marked
Set date and time automatically
if it's not already checked, and select one of the Apple time servers from the menu next to it.
Step 2
Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
If the problem is not reproducible in safe mode, then it's caused by third-party "anti-virus" or "security" software. If you know what that software is, remove it as directed by the developer after backing up all data. If you don't know what it is, ask for instructions.
Step 3
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/System/Library/Keychains/SystemCACertificates.keychain
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Show Info
from the contextual menu.* An Info dialog should open. The dialog should show "You can only read" in the Sharing & Permissions section.
Repeat with this line:
/System/Library/Keychains/SystemRootCertificates.keychain
If instead of the Info dialog, you get a message that either file can't be found, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Open a TextEdit window and paste into it by pressing command-V. Select the line you just pasted and continue as above.
Step 4
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
In the upper left corner of the window, you should see a list headed Keychains. If not, click the button in the lower left corner that looks like a triangle inside a square.
In the Keychains list, there should be items named System and System Roots. If not, select
File ▹ Add Keychain
from the menu bar and add the following items:
/Library/Keychains/System.keychain
/System/Library/Keychains/SystemRootCertificates.keychain
Open the View menu in the menu bar. If one of the items in the menu is
Show Expired Certificates
select it. Otherwise it will show
Hide Expired Certificates
which is what you want.
From the Category list in the lower left corner of the window, select Certificates. Look carefully at the list of certificates in the right side of the window. If any of them has a blue-and-white plus sign or a red "X" in the icon, double-click it. An inspection window will open. Click the disclosure triangle labeled Trust to disclose the trust settings for the certificate. From the menu labeled
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
select
no value specified
Close the inspection window. You'll be prompted for your administrator password to update the settings.
Now open the same inspection window again, and select
When using this certificate: Use System Defaults
Save the change in the same way as before.
Revert all the certificates with non-default trust settings. Never again change any of those settings.
Step 5
Select My Certificates from the Category list. From the list of certificates shown, delete any that are marked with a red X as expired or invalid.
Export all remaining certificates, delete them from the keychain, and reimport. For instructions, select
Help ▹ Keychain Access Help
from the menu bar and search for the term "export" in the help window. Export each certificate as an individual file; don't combine them into one big file.
Step 6
From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences... ▹ Certificates
There are three menus in the window. Change the selection in the top two to Best attempt, and in the bottom one to CRL.
Step 7
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
/var/db/crls
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
A folder named "crls" should open. Move all the files in that folder to the Trash. You’ll be prompted for your administrator login password.
Restart the computer, empty the Trash, and test.
Step 8
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
open -e /etc/hosts
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in the same way you launched Keychain Access.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting. A TextEdit window should open. At the top of the window, you should see this:
# Host Database
# localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
# when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
::1 localhost
If that's not what you see, post the contents of the window. -

My iPod touch was stolen.. and recovered.. but the kid that stole it cleared my iPod and "made it his own".. it has a password that makes me unable to use it. (He won't give up the password). I have tried to do the restore thru iTunes but the "note" from iTunes says it is unable to restore without the current password.. is there anyway around this... HELP !
You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it. If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.

I purchased the tomtom uk&ireland App on my iphone4s which worked fine now it won't open
I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?
I am running Yosemitie on a iMac.

Whenever I try to open a new window, nothing happens. This includes clicking ctrl+N and through the drop down menu.
Also, whenever I start firefox to browse the internet, it always open with a Session Restore with the previous session listed, even though I closed all the tabs and shut it down normally without any prompts telling me about saving multiple tabs.
Finally, when I tried to troubleshoot this problem, the tab never appeared. The only options that work on the Help Menu are:
- Firefox Help (after a few clicks)
- Report Broken Web Site
- Check for Updates
- About FirefoxStart Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Asking for help getting previous purchases on my ipod touch and iPad... my computer hard drive crashed and I replaced it. My music was a mess. I restored most back but some of my purchased music is saying it is downloaded but it is nowhere to be found. I don't understand why I can't get the music I already paid for back in my library. Any help? would be appreciated...
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Are you doing this?
You have to sign in and download each iTunes account individually. -
Safari won't let me open the bill pay section of my bank
I have tried to pay bills on line with two different banks. Neither one will allow me to open the 'BILL PAY' tab so I can do that. This just recently happened. I have been paying bills this way for over a year. Neither bank knows what the problem is.
Apple suggests I reset Safari...I am timid to do this cause i know it will erase stuff I think I need??!!!
Any thoughts?1. There are no viruses for Mac. There is currently one trojan, but the latest security update from Apple is taking care of that. Additionally, you can take a look at these:
http://www.reedcorner.net/guides/macvirus/
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4650
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4651
I do not have any anti virus software on my Mac; if there is ever a virus, I will use ClamXAV (free). Your computer's worst enemy is, frankly, the user who downloads things they don't know, possibly from questionable sites. Microsoft viruses can't do your Mac any harm since they can't read the Mac OS to do harm; however, you could unwittingly be forwarding one in an email to a PC friend. I don't forward attachments unless I know the source. -
I can't access iCloud on my iPhone 5S. It says it cannot connect to the server.
Try deleting the account, then sign back in.

HT5312 I forgot my security questions and it won't let me open the case
I have the email with the number and when I try to reschedule the call it says incorrect case number
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Iphoto upgrader won't let me open iPhoto library file
I'm sorry in advance if this question has been asked, I've been searching for awhile now, figured it's just faster to ask.
I'm running Yosemite 10.10.3. After updating and having to use the iPhoto Library Upgrader I've been successful with one of my iPhoto libraries being upgraded to the current format. However, I tried to update my last file today with the upgrader and when I try to select the iPhoto library it is greyed out and it cannot be selected for me to open.
Has anyone had this issue or can help? Thanks in advance...Unless the version of iPhoto that you were using was iPhoto 7 or earlier you do not need to run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 on them. Just drag the library package onto the Photos icon in the Dock.

My System Preferences won't let me open accounts?
My System Preferences won't let me open accounts? I really need it to work please help. Hugz and kissez Abbyxoxo1010
Hello Makena Little,
It sounds like you are unable to change your wallpaper background because that section of your System Preferences says that it is loading adn will not finish. I recommend performing a Safe Boot, then leaving it and retesting the issue:
OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564
Starting up in Safe Mode
To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), follow these steps.
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key.
The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
After the logo appears, you should see a progress bar during startup. This indicates that your computer is performing a directory check as part of Safe Mode.
To leave Safe Mode, restart your computer without holding any keys during startup.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
All the best,

Ack! Finder won't let me open anything!
Hey guys! I am having problems. Hope someone here can help!
All of a sudden, the Finder won't let me open any folders. I click on the Hard Drive or folders and the desktop just kind of flashes (the icons disappear) and then it goes right back to normal. I tried opening things from the "Go" menu at the top and restarting the computer. It's still doing it. I can get to the documents through Safari if I "browse" for something, but I can't just double click on anything. It's weird. It just started today. No weird downloads or updates. It just happened.
Any suggestions??morganrocks086 wrote:
Yep, I created a new account and the same thing still happens. What's going on? I don't have a backup yet. I've been looking into external hard drives, but haven't gotten one yet. Are you telling me I'm going to lose my stuff?
don't panic just yet. You do have a more serious problem than I thought if it affects all accounts. BTW, have you repaired permissions? I should have asked that first. repair permissions and verify your hard drive. Once that's done, try booting in safe mode and see if the problem persists. to do that restart and at the chime hold the shift key. boot up will take longer than usual but it should boot you in safe mode eventually. see if finder works normally there.
