I just had this issue. Go into settings and reset the Apple TV after the firmware update. (note just "reset settings" and NOT back to factory settings)

This will fix your problem!
To put the device in DFU mode,
1. Connect the device to iTunes
2. Hold both the power button and the home button down simultaneously
3. After 10 seconds, release the power button but leave the home button pressed
4. iTunes should then recognize that the device has entered DFU mode and ask to restore.
That should get you back on your way.

Your WiFi/Bluetooth chip has failed. Bring the phone (and $199 if outside the warranty period) to Apple for replaceement.

I have tried to restore my old iPhone 3, but when i tried the itunes logo and a pic of a USB cable have come up on my phone and now i cant do anything with my phone.Any ideas how i can fix this? Updated my software when prompted three days ago and as soon as the update was finished the basic screen came up with main menu. However, when I selected "Podcasts", "TV" or "Movies" the screen goes black and the same home screen comes up again. The only things that work are HuluPlus and Netflix and all non-iTunes icons. I can't buy anything from the iStore so if Apple wants me to keep iShopping at the iStore and take my iMoney you might want to make a patch available quickly.
I just did the update to version 5.2 on our ATV2 and now I'm having the exact same problem as the OP- all attempts to access any iTunes services i.e. Movies or TV result in dropping back to the ATV Main menu. Per Winston's suggestion, I logged out of iTunes and then tried to log back in. I am getting a message "the server is not responding- please try again later".
FWIW- all my non-iTunes services on the ATV are working fine- i.e. Netflix and YouTube.
Sounds like the update has overwhelmed the Apple servers.

As I said, It's now frozen and I cannot use my iphone basically. WHen I turn it back on, it goes to the facebook screen. It doesnt go the the lock screen first. I've tried to shut it off but thats kinda hard because my lock button is broken. Please Help!
You need to reset the phone, but that requires a functioning on/off (lock) button. Time to visit Apple.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go
Move the com.apple.PrinterPrefs.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac, restart the printer... -

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device) -

When an iPhone updates, it wipes the whole device clean and then reinstalls the software and then the backup. Obviously you didn't create/couldn't create a backup either via iCloud or iTunes. You can get your apps back when you go to App Store>Updates>Purchased and download the apps you want.

Just updated the Apple TV and the white light is now flashing quickly and nothing is on the screen. Can't access it with the remote from the Ipad.Same problem here. Long time Apple fan, own lots of their products... Greatly disappointed.
Bought a brand new Apple TV, worked fine for 3 days but then the picture went blank (possibly after an auto update?) and I observed a quickly flashing white light on the Apple TV. Manual indicates this means it is "having problems" (no kidding) and recommends restoring the software via a micro-USB cable (cable not provided).
Acquired a cable and attempted this fix but after following the procedure the Apple TV never showed up in iTunes, so I'm unable to perform the restore. Returning the device today, not sure if we want to get another or just give up and save the $100. -
I am constantly being advised that my information has been accessed by a "new" iMac. I only have ONE iMac. What gives? And what is with the constant request to "update" my information? As well, I have had to change my password a number of times since migrating to Yosemite; again: what's this all about? I Apple going the way of Microsoft for some reason? I left the Microsoft community because of constant problems with their OS and the unending string of "security updates"; is Apple and my iMac becoming "just another crap computer"?

I have an IPhone 4 which I just updated with the latest software, which put in it in Recovery Mode. It has the picture of the plug with ITunes, I downloaded it now its saying its in Recovery Mode, how do I save all of my previous data without Restoring?
I updated the phone before backing it up on iTunes, now the update wanted me to connect the phone with iTunes and it says the phones in recovery mode and it must be restored before its used with iTunes. I go to click restore and it says it will reset it to factory default and I'll lose all my current data. I have all my sons pictures and videos along with this notes. I can't lose all of this data! Please help!You have to restore the iPod, no ifs, ands, or buts...
After iOS is installed you will be asked if you what to set it up as a new iPod or if you want to restore from a backup.
If you have a good backup you can restore that and you're good to go.
If you don't have a good backup, then you end up with a "clean" iPod.... -

It sounds like you are trying to find the Personal Hotspot option in your Settings. You were close. The option is directly under Settings, and not in the Cellular section of Settings:
