Had the same problem and spoke with Apple Support. They had me reset the System Management Controller:
Shut down the computer. With the computer off, on the left hand side of the keyboard press shift+control+option along with the power button simultaneously and release. Wait 5-10 seconds and restart the computer.
This solved my problem and I was immediately able to purchase, download, and play an HD movie from iTunes w/o any error message.

If you rented and downloaded it on your computer's iTunes then it should be in the Movies part of your library - is there a Rentals tab in Movies ?
If on an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch then it should be in the Videos app. If you can't find it in there, nor via the device's spotlight search screen, then have you got a film age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding it ?

i downloaded 2 movies to watch on flight, downloaded to computer. Now have iPad with me. I don't see the movies in library/anywhere in iTunes/cloud so tried to re-download, received message that I had already rented. where can I find the movies?

If you rented and downloaded them on your computer's iTunes then did you then connect the iPad to your computer and move them over to it ? If you did then they should be in the Videos app.
Rentals are a one-time only download so they won't appear in the cloud for re-downloading.

How to enable telemetry logs and where can i find the command line for sun

Hi i tried creating the telemetry logs directory but the logs are not being populated. i created the following directory:-
/opt/SUNWmsgsr/data/telemetry/imap/usersns1
where usersns1 is the userid.
Also pl. tell me where can i get the command list for sun one messaging server to use the command line utility to list, delete mailboxes. also can i search for all the mailboxes under one domain name. if yes then which command i have to use.

where usersns1 is the userid.Make sure the permissions (ownership) on the user directory and the sub directory match those that messaging server uses - by default mailsrv:mail. This is the most common cause of the telemetry data not being created. The other thing to verify is that the user's account isn't stored as user@domain, otherwise you may need to create the directory as the entire user@domain (try both just to be sure).

The mboxutil command is used to list/create/delete mailboxes and you can use a pattern to only list those mailboxes in a specific domain.

Where can I find the movie I rented?

I rented a movie on my Mac. Now i can't find it anywhere, but it charged me for it.
It's not on the video app on my IPad either and in the library of my Mac it says, I have no movies.
What do i do?

If you rented and downloaded it on Mac's iTunes then it should be in your Mac's iTunes library - is there a 'rentals'tab in the Movies part of your library ?

Go to settings on your device then select app store. If you tap on the email that is shown it will give you an option to view your apple ID. When you are viewing your apple ID, tap on payment method and it will show a list of credit card options. The one at the bottom should say none. If you then tap none for payment options the credit card will not be connected. If you go on to the app store again you should be able to download free apps with out any issues.
