My computer recently crashed. I had everything on an externa drive. I'm trying to reload my music into itunes from my external drive. I do not have an itunes library document for some reason. How do I get my library back onto itunes?

If you're running Windows 8.1, this seems to be a common theme, or some variation there of at least. Myself, I can't even back-up on my iPhone 4S which has iOS 7.1.2 and I'm running iTunes 11.3.0.54 and have resorted to purchased the iTunes Match service to ensure that music on my primary desktop PC (which is paired to my iPhone) will be available on both the iPhone and my Windows 8.1 laptop. Regarding backing up of the iPhone, I'm thinking about going to a third party solution until either Apple and/or Microsoft can figure out why Windows 8.1 is having so many problems with the current version of iTunes (as of this writing 11.3.0.54).

I had a problem with my computer and my entire iTunes library ended up being erased along with other files. Though I have all of the music on my iPod still and I want to transfer it back to my iTunes library. Is this at all possible since I did not backup my songs in any way before the library was erased? I really dont want to import all of my cd's again since it close to 10,000 songs so any info would help. I was able to get my iPod to show the songs when plugged into iTunes but it wont let me import the songs or playlist other than just playing them. I cant even burn a cd using my iPod files. What can I do to make get my songs back please help?

You can't sync or drag your music back directly from an iPod to iTunes, the transfer of music is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs but not playlists back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

How to move the music from ipod to itunes?

Hi, I have a new computer without any music. I want to save the music I have in my ipod in the computer so I can hear it with itunes but no way. I can't move any file. In "my Pc" when I open Ipod I can see no files of music. In itunes I go to ipod, summary and I can not make the ipod work as a har drive.

I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

if you still have your crashed computer get one of your techie friends to make your old hard drive into an external hard drive- they can get a sleeve for it from new egg or a supplier like that- you hook it up to your new computer, via USB connections, transfer the itunes folder to the new itunes folder in your new computer then import that folder into the itunes library on the internet site...........go to file then import folder and find your folder- mine was itunes music-

Depending upon the available ports on your MBP you will need an adapter and an HDMI cable to connect to your TV (unless it is an older model).

One can find a single cable that combines the two.
Since you have not indicated what MBP you have and the TV connections that are available, these may or may not be applicable in your situation.

iPhoto and File Management
The simplest way is to copy the library to an external drive.
And sure, after testing the copy, you can delete selected events from your original library, then would your backup be no longer the backup, but your only copy of the deleted events. In that case you should use two backups, and preferably on different drives.
Also, do you know what to do, if I want to keep backing up newer, more recent photos I take into the same older library?
iPhoto does not support the merging of libraries. You would have to export the photos from th events and import them into your archive library. Or buy iPhoto Library Manager, that supports merging of Libraries.
Another way to keep your backup in sync with the original would be using clones of your disk as backup or TimeMachine.
