HT1689 Can anything be done if my iPod was stolen, and I still have it registered under my account?

I never unregistered my iPod from my account, and it was recently stolen.. If I still have the serial code, can anything be done? and how do I go about getting it back if I find where it is? All passwords have been changed, and I DID NOT have iCloud on.

Well since you failed to do anything to protect it such as Find My Phone and app and iCloud that doesn't help much either.

My iPod was stolen and now I can't access my iTunes account

My iPod was stolen and within half an hour my iTunes account was locked from an attempted hack.
I reset all the passwords and have since gotten a new iPod but anytime I try to login to my account everything freezes. I can access it online and on this forum, obviously, but my laptop running windows7 freezes instantly and my desktop computer running windows XP freezes as soon as I try to go to the store.
How do I fix this? It happens on both the computers I had authorized for that iPod and I'm not sure what to do.
Do I need to delete my account and start over? If so how would I do that? I've been told it is extremely difficult and usually results in the loss of use of iTunes on any computers you had authorized before.
At this point I don't even care about the money I'll lose on my old account I just want my music back.

No. The only way is if the FindMyiPod feature was already set up and wifi is on. However, that can be defeted by turning the iPod off or restoring it. If they have access to the iPod then can just turn the feature off.
If the iPod off/battery drained how would you expect there t be a way of finding it?
Apple will not help.

What country are you in ? As long as they are still available in the store then apps can be re-downloaded from the store for free, and in a number of countries music can also be re-downloaded : re-downloading.

If you did not configure FindmyIPod on it, I'm afraid you are out of luck. Report the theft to the local authorities and change the passwords to any and all accounts you have may used/accessed or configured on the iPod Touch.

The most immediate thing you need to do is to call your credit card company and report the unauthorized charges. Your card company can contact Apple if they need additional information.
Next, log into your iTunes Store account and see if the purchases are reflected in the Purchase History. If they are, immediately change the password to your iTunes Store account, making sure it's not something easily guessed or looked up. Then go here:
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. Whether or not they'll do anything for you I don't know, particularly if you didn't change the password after your iPod was stolen.
If the charges are not reflected in the Purchase History, then it's most likely a fraudulent charge to your credit card directly rather than an unauthorized purchase through your iTunes Store account in which case it will be up to your bank to handle.

It will only be where you put it.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion..
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can redownload some purchases in some countries:
