HT1695 I am at home and have a wireless router on my DSL line. I have been using the iPad for about a month without difficulty and tonight it will not connect. I do not understand why and yes, I am electronically challenged so be gentle!
I recently purchased an iPad after using a laptop and PC for years. I use a wireless router connected to a DSL line at home and have been using the iPad without difficulty for about a month and tonight it will not connect to the Internet. There is not a problem with the DSL or router. I am using the laptop now. Could someone please give this eectnically challenged individual assistance?
1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

When and where was the iPad/charger purchased? It's covered by a 1-year warranty.

So I have been using my iPad for a few months now and I recently noticed that the time display next to the playlist name in the music app that is supposed to display the total song count and time of a playlist is way off. I have a 25 song playlist that is around 2 hours on my computer appears as 2003 minutes on my iPad. It's a smart playlist limited to 25 songs if that makes any difference. Is this happening to anyone else? Any help would be appreciated!

First make an iCal backup, File > Export > Archive.
Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.

the Wifi storage options are interesting but it seems they only allow to read files from the device on the iPad but not transfer files to the storage device via WiFi.
I'm looking for a possibility to use the iPad for photography while traveling, without the access to a computer.
Shooting photo's in RAW format crates pretty big files that will fill up the iPad's memory pretty fast if you shoot a lot during a (let's say) month long trip.
my idea was to use load the photo's to the iPad so i could view them and sort out any bad ones. then copy them over to the storage device so i can continue using my CF cards for shooting. I have an image thank for copying the photo's directly to the HDD but it would be so sweet to be able to check them on the iPad before hand.
any suggestions?Check out pogo plug device, it allows you to upload camera roll via wifi.

i have been using an ipad for songs, apps, etc, i now am migrating to a mac book, my question is, i have been using my wifes apple id for all of our purchases, sharing, etc. now that i have a laptop, i am wondering, why should i get my own user id or why would i not just continue on using our common id?
she worries about us taking up too much space in the cloud, which i am not using yet but will learni dont know why you would make a separate account either if you have been getting on fine before, unless you need to talk to your wife with iMessage or something
if you do run out of cloud storage it's probably cheaper to just upgrade it than make your own apple id and have to buy everything again -
my iMac has been slow to respond for about 6 months and it is getting worse, beach ball is here a lot I have tried a few different things and nothing works. i am not sure if i need to take to an apple store or what any tips or suggestions would be appreciated

Ugh. How do I get iCloud on my iPhone? I have been using my iPhone for about a year and I have an iCloud account but it is useless since nothing syncs to nothing else. Obviously I don't know what I am doing.

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:

If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

Adobe Bridge shuts down when I try to access files on my external drive. Have been using the drive for several months with no problems.

When I try to turn on my homesharing on apple TV it says that either my apple id doesn't exist or the password is wrong. However, I've been using the id for almost half a year and I even changed my password and it still wouldn't work. What can I do to fix this?

Didn't work in what way. Are you unable to start it up? Does it start but then freezes? Does the screen stay black when you turn it on?

No you don't need a service plan to use wifi. Take special precautions to make sure the seller is the owner. Be sure all their information has been removed properly. If it were me I wouldn't give the person the money until the iPad is registered in my name. I've read too many horror stories of people buying iPads they'll never be able to use because someone else's ID was still on it.
