unfortunatally at the moment when ever i try to join my home network it says unable to join network ! is this because i have a locked network or do i need to do something ??? HELP ME PLEASE.

What type of encryption are you using? Has the iPod ever been able to connect before? Have you worked through each and every suggestion in this Apple support document?

Have you tried standard troubleshooting
ie reboot >> press hold and sleep until Apple logo appears ignoring

Ipad unable to join network

iPad mini, using my network just fine for several weeks now. Was having a problem with online games loading, so went to wi-fi settings and clicked "Renew Lease". Now I can no longer connect. Keeps telling me "unable to join network". Laptop connects fine. Turned iPad off, forgot network, nothing works.

Usually it's because you are not connecting to the internet via wifi.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Wi-fi working on other devices. When trying to connect on ipad it states"unable to join network". Some of my efforts have resulted in short term connection, but then I lose it again.

anybody have any idea what would cause my wi-fi to state "unable to join network when all other devices are haveing no connection problem.?

I am an engineer and I have tried every tweek to my airport router and unles you are standing 10ft from the ruter you get the unable to join network messsage.
naturally it work fine at the Apple Store who preformed a full reset on the phone. Other people are having this issue same a me and apple chooses not to acknowledge it, Maybe they will when I contact the consumer journalists at CNN ABC CBS & NBC news they love to here about Apple problems remember the Iphone 4 antenna issues!

You can troubleshoot this using http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398 as well. If you need to restore your iPhone at all, use http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766?viewlocale=en_US and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414?viewlocale=en_US and set it up as new to see if this still happens. If it does, you might need a replacement

Dingle, I currently share your problem; however... I was able to login to networks ONCE. The first time. The phone was new (just got it a few days ago), and I joined the network at work, and one in another office. Happy connects. Successful connects. Never again though. Now I get the 'unable to join network error' consistently when I try to join these very same networks. I have reset my network settings. Turned off 3G capabilities (since it's another thing that I've noticed changed since those few early days of new phone, that is, I noticed 3G receptivity is on all the time now with high bars, although when I first got the phone I got ATT, E, the dot, and 3G... they all took turns). The error remains. I wonder if it's an app that I may have installed. I also just connected the phone to my Mac for the first time, but that was post 'unable to join network' error. webapp?? Could it be a memory issue? I don't even know how to refresh cache (or if one even exists).

i'm using iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.2 , it was all good . 2 weeks ago i'm start getting weak wifi connection , and if i went a little far from the router ( to my room exmple ) it disconnect from the wifi and when i try to connect it back it says unable to Join network . try reset network , i try to restore it to 6.1.4 and i set it up as a new device , still the same . reset network setting again didn't work also , whenever i get close to the router it got connected by itself . any HELP ? Hi. Bought New IPad and used it on commercial wifi spots like Starbucks, no problem. At home my Linksys sees my wifi network but when I enter password I get "unable to join network" error message. My IPad 2 connects as usual. Same password. No problem.
I rebooted router and then turned on New IPad. Same result. I re-set network settings to factory. Still get "unable to join network". Tried entering Security Key instead of password. No go.

found answer. Choose "other" network. Put Security Key in box asking for Password.
For me, entered WPA and Name of exisitng network.

my ipad 3 32 gb wifi , running latest ios 8.1 is unable to join network . i have tried every single method mentioning below :
1 . reset network setting
2. reset all setting
3. hard reboot
4. itune ios recovery
5. dfu recovery
6. updated from ios7 to latest ios 8.1
7. fail in joining network , even with correct password entered , showing "incorrect password "
8. fail to connect to open network , showing " unable to join network "
9. it cant connect to any wifi router however it can only be conected to internet via bluetooth tethering from my phone .
please guide me with your professional opinion . is this some sort of software glitch or hardware problem ? thanks

I don't know if this will work for you but I bought a new iPad Mini 3 this past week and I have Verizon Mifi. My new iPad mini3 would try to connect but couldn't. I went back to Verizon and the tech selected the option "Forget this network." When she did that, my Mifi came up again by itself. My iPad was searching for a connection and my Mifi showed up. After the connection showed up on it's own again, the tech was able to select the network and then selected the option to put in the password and that fixed the problem. I would have never thought selecting "Forget this network" would have worked but it did. I don't know if that will work for you.

my router is DLink Dir-615, and the iPhone 4(ios5.x),iPad2(ios5.x) and notbooks(windows 7) can connect to the router successfully.
And I tried to reset iPad mini's network, even reset all the settings, but still no luck.
I doubt it is the hardware issue of iPad mini. Pleasesssssssssssssse, HELP ME OUT OF IT.

What do I have to do if they still would refuse the change it? In fact I just searched for the warranty policy of apple.. So I got an problem after an update of apple, they recongized its their fault, their software fault.. In their warranty you can read the following: Cover of breakdown service or replacement with regard to. --> Lacks which arise after supply to the customer. So in fact i should get a new one?! But i can't obey them or can I? What should I do?

IPad 2 can't connect to WiFi/unable to join network

The iPad 2 (WiFi only) initially had no problems whatsoever in the first several months after I bought it. Then I didn't use Internet on the iPad for 2-3 months, as there was no WiFi for that time. Now when I try to connect it to my WiFi, it either temporarily connects with a slow, patchy connection (spinning processing symbol on the top left corner) or the "Unable to join network" message pops up. All my other iDevices connect perfectly at a high speed. I have tried the following to no avail:
Reset network settings
Reset all settings
Turned router off/on
Same room as router
Forget network
Turned WiFi settings off/on
Restored to factory settings 3X
Changed WiFi password
Changed WiFi security
Changed WiFi name

Can't turn off router at the hotel, it hasn't worked at any wifi hotspot. I just never really monkey with it.

Unable to join network error constant at home

IOS6 with latest updates on 1Phone 5. I can never hold wifi at my home on iPhone for more than a few days without getting "unable to join network" Dismissng and resetting with new password never works. Always have to do hard reset to phone & router to eventually reconnect.
Do not have this phone wityh my iPad (laster version & IOS)
Wasn't the last software update supposed to fix this widespread issue?
