HT1923 After uninstalling and reinstalling itunes according to the instructions for Vista, I do not have QuickTime in my programs. Am I supposed to install QuickTime separately? Isnt it supposed to install with Itunes automatically?
After uninstalling and reinstalling itues according to instructions for Vista, QuickTime doesn't appear in my programs, I don't seem to have it anywhere, Isn't QuickTime supposed to be part of the Itunes installation? Is the absence of it why no ipod will function correctly for me?
Let's first try something relatively simple. Download and save a 64-bit version of the iTunes installer (iTunes64Setup.exe) to your hard drive. (Don't run the install on line.)
Now try right-clicking the installer file and selecting "Run as administrator".
Does that get you past the privileges errors?

Ipod is now in the top right corner, last time I clicked on it, it ejected it but by clicking on the actual ipod icon then it brings up your ipod. I restored it to factory settings and synced all my music and it now works again. Hope this can help anyone who ends up with the same problem. -
After uninstalling/reinstalling AdobeAIR I now not only get the Adobe Reader install window but also get the AdobeAIR install window upon bootting up Firefox.
Attached are the two windows I get, Firefox hangs for a couple of minutes while these windows load, a real annoyance.

Tried to upgrade as instructed and after uninstalling and reinstalling (even back to the former iTunes which I was happy with)several times, keep getting message "Procedure entry point could not be located in dynamic link library" followed by "iTunes was not installed properly" "Error 7". Help, please??
Entry point errors can usually be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of from the programs and features control panel. Unfortunately you neglected to include the detail of which dll is mentioned.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account. -

Now I get "The saved printer information is not compatible with this version of Photoshop Elements, or the saved printer is no longer available. You will need to check your printer settings before printing."

It's the same printer driver version. nothing to roll back. I fixed the issue by deleting the %APPDATA%\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\11.0 folder -

JimI have tried all of the suggestions, also removed every reference to Firefox in the registry, no joy, still comes up with the error, does load if run as administrator, this is not satisfactory though, its ok if I am starting Firefox but no good if it tries to start automatically such as clicking a link in an email.

I have uninstalled the itunes by following the instructions in apple website, removing intunes, quicktime and other components in my computer. Then after I reinstalled the itunes 10, it doesnt launch the itunes and gives me a message that "The itunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occured (-50)". I can go into chrome without any issues and watch any video without any problem. the second i get into firefox nothing works. i have had this issue on and off for years. i really do not see why you cannot fix this if everybody else can. i have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox and flash player multiple times. nothing seems to work. I am truly getting really tired of this same problem year after year, i stay with firefox because you are privacy conscience and are being more so consistently. i do not know what other details to tell you other than this just keeps happening and it is making it very tough to do anything on firefox when i cannot use a simple thing such as flash player. as i said, if the other browsers can fix this i see no reason why firefox cannot year after year. i hope there is a simple fix for this problem because it has basically halted a lot of my work on the net as i will no longer use google or microsoft. thank you

Can't get rid of the blue "downloading the latest applications" bar that seems to be just hanging and won't go away. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but the bar is still there after 2 days. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
