But before you to go the effort of trying to downgrade, try these steps, presuming you're referring to iTunes 11:
- Press Control-B to show the menus
- From the View menu, select "Show Sidebar" and "Show Status Bar'
That makes iTunes 11 look much like earlier versions of iTunes and satisfies many people.

You cannot unless you have a full TM or clone backup which you could use to erase your drive and reinstall the earlier version (that would be for your computer, not an iDevice).

Do you still have the old version on the computer that you sync from ? If you do then you can delete the version from the updated iPads (does the app have any content in it that you need to copy off first ?) and then connect them to that computer and sync it back onto them.
If you have the new version on the computer that you sync from then delete it from there, connect one of the iPads that still has the old version on it and do File > Transfer Purchases which should copy it over, and then delete the version from the updated iPads and then connect them and re-sync the old version back onto them.

This new iTunes is the pits. I want the old version back. I deleted iTunes 11 and tried to reinstall an earlier version. It gives me an error that my library cannot be recognized by an older version. So...will i have to delete everything, libraries, etc. in order to get rid of this frankenstein monster and go back to a good version? I have all the components in my computer to match an IMAC yet need to buy their 2200$ computer to have their software legally. Its all about money of course I get that but make something for a better price considering it is software leading not the components. An alienware laptop runs less money than a stupid macbook that is wrong. I hope apple reads this but they will have their fans that will line the streets for bad products. They are behind in technology compared to android and pc. The ipad mini should have been priced like everyone else at 199 not 329 but again fanboys lined the streets for it.

The version of iTunes being referred to is on your MacBook, not on your iPhone. You need to update your MacBook to at least iTunes 10.6.3.

If you had iMovie 9 and upgraded to Mavericks, iMovie 9 should still be in your Applications folder in a folder called imovie 9.0.9. You can still use it and your Events and projects folders should still be present.

A user uploads a new pdf (using Dreamweaver) but still gets the old version back in browser.

She downloads the file from the site, and gets the old version of the file instead of the one she just uploaded. I tried it myself and everything is done correctly: the new file is on the server but download keeps displaying the old version. Dreamweaver ticks off the bytes as they are going upstream. I can RDP to the server and see that the newer version is there (by datetime stamp). She is using IE 8 if relevant.
This only happens with pdf, no caching is turned on in IIS6 - all content updates are instant.
I have gone in to the temp internet files and deleted the cached version of the file and emptied the trash (Win XP) but it still serves the old version.
This issue has been reported by other users, but I thought it was user error until it was staring me in the face.
My final verification was to upload the new document with a new name, delete the old document, and rename the new name to the old name - after that it delivered the new document
How do I tell the (non-tech) user fix this?
I've seen references to this on other sites (now that I know it is real, I dug deeper) but the solutions proposed mostly seem to involve changing the query string by adding somthing to the end of it.
This is out of reach of my user.

Then tell her to uncheck all three boxes (display in browser, allow fast, and allow speculative)
But I don't see how that would fix it - remember that I deleted the pdf from the internet cache and that didn't solve it.

I've faced this before too.
I've tried many different approaches but the most reliable way I've ever found of handling it is to rename the new PDF each time (e.g. adding the revision date into the filename) and update the link in the web page to point to the renamed PDF.
Works every time.

First download a copy of the iTunes 10.7 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.
