Thanks, Eric. I'm not sure what I should be checking using your suggestion--as I said, I'm an utter novice with the iMac. However, I saw a reference to problems with the Library entries, so I checked mine and the iWork files were missing, something confirmed when I checked the crash log. In desperation, I did another software update, and that seems to have fixed the problem completely. Now wondering if I dare upgrade to Lion!

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

Ok, I used to be able to open links up in a new Tab using my middle mouse button. However, I updated firefox with the automatic Updates on the 26th of October and now I no longer can open links with my middle mouse button. Why? I use this feature just about every time I go searching on the internet so I really would like it back. I couldn't find anything that it was related to in the options so I turn this over to you guys.

I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list. The App Store which is required to download 10.7 or 10.8 is part of the 10.6.6 update.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work

Not sure of an answer to your basic question, but it may be that you can run a repair (on Windows --> Control Panel>Programs & Features and run the repair on Acrobat). If that fixes the issue, at least temporarily, at least you will not be reinstalling everything -- a real pain.
Next, open Acrobat and go to the Help to run the updates and be sure you are current. On some OSs, the updates are critical.

You don't. You can't control how other computers or browsers play back the footage. The best you can do is export a master file that plays great on your computer. What youTube does with it, or how other computers play it back is out of your hands.
Just like me with broadcast TV shows. I deliver the most pristine version I can to the network. But then they convert it to a digital file that they then beam out to cable and satellite providers, who then compress it again to play on their systems. And then it arrives at grandma's house and plays on her TV. I have no control how my grandma receives the signal, nor how her TV is set up. Unless I am nice and tweak things when I go visit. Have you got age restrictions set in Settings > General > Restrictions so that the app is being hidden when it's downloaded ?

Try system preferences>desktop,click desktop tab. Click the Apple folders, iPhoto, or folders. Click the pic you want on the icon, it should put the pic as your wallpaper. You can change the picture if you change picture if you click it and the time. Unless I don't understand your question. ATB

Turn off iMessage on the iPhone as should have been done prior to switching devices.
Settings > Messages > iMessage > OFF
