Check your settings. What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It doesn’t affect your data. All of your email accounts will remain intact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages.

I had installed mountain lion on my MBP 13" early 2012, but it has lots of issue, when i tryed to up date to 10.8.1 it shows the error "OS X update cannot be installed on this disk. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update"
if i run the software update nothis is showing, current os version is 10.8This did not work for me.
Note, that at one point the Apple developer knew exactly what the problem was and decided not to let us know. If we were tole what the problem was we woud have an idea of how to proceed. -
When I am typing in a browser window, my browser page shifts slightly, highlights in blue, and does not allow me to continue typing...i have to click in the browser to allow typing to continue...is there a function running that I don't know about?

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2. -
I have been asked several times if I want to redownload ML and answered yes, but nothing appears to happen and nothing installs. Somewhat surprisingly my internet service provider howevere has infrmed me I have exceeded my download limt today ( which suggests I have downloaded multiple copies of ML file, but I cannot find any evidence on my hard drive of where it has gone. Help appreciated.

Problem resolved itself. Turned out that I had ben unable to contact the App store to confirm purchase. Once this resolved itself program downloaded properly and installation went without a hitch.

Why Hp does not find any solution for Noisy Fan systems ?
I got DV6t core i5 6gb ram + 1gb Ati Radeon Graphic Card (6490m) + bluetooth + Bluray
I have to return it because of that noisy fan ; i was a new member of Hp family and i never investigate about that product for Laptop. After it got that gorgeous Laptop , i got this fan issue ; and i research that fan is working normal/anormal ; what i find out is Hp has a Noisy Fan Issue on all of the Video clips , Forum Websites even its own website ; I realy didnt know till i got it. If that is a common issue , Why that big brand HP doesnt solve that problem since many years ? I sincerely doesnt want to return this item because of fan ; because there is no comparative product in others company has .... (Bluetooth + Bluray + Finger print + 1gb (Integrated Graphic) and $749 ; i can not find any brand or product which includes that options in this price ..... So UNFORTUNATELY i am returning that Beautiful Laptop Because of ridiculous fan noise ; is that really hard to install a fan which is really silence ??? I have a Toshiba brand laptop , even the fan is working hard there is no bothering noise at all (Even its 4 years old) . There is no "adding" a device. Simply plug the iDevice into the computer. iTunes should automatically detect the device when it is connected.
iTunes can sync/manage as many iDevices as you want... there is no 1 device limit. -

How do I import jpg, tif, psd files exported from Lightroom 3 into Aperture 3.2? I had no problems before...seems like since I installed Lion, they do not show up in the import folder.
How are you trying to import them (again) ? If you're importing through the Import Window and have RAW only set then that's all you'll get.
Also what's an Import Folder? Not sure how Lightroom fits into this. If you share your workflow with us we might be able to help.

I connected my sons Ipod Touch to my pc and it worked fine. Now, when I try to connect my iPad the following message comes up: One of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message.
I checked the cable. It surely is not the cable. If I connect the iPod again it works fine. If I use the same cable with my pc and ipad at work or my other son’s laptop, it is working perfectly. It is only on my laptop where the iPod was connected. Something tells me it got something to do with the drivers that went corrupt or something when I connected the iPod.
I searched the internet and I see a lot of people gets this message. Still no solved answers yet. Is there a place where I can download the drivers again or any other suggestions?

Under Part 9. Verify that USB drivers are installed, did you try the steps in If only "Unknown Device" appears? That appears to be your situation.
Also, you said that the shuffle initially worked well enough to do a sync, then it had the same problem again. If you can get it to work again initially, before doing anything else, try the following. Select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, go to the Summary tab. By default, the checkbox for Enable disk use should be unchecked. If so, check it and Apply the change. See if that makes any difference.
(If Enable disk use was already checked, try unchecking it and Apply the change. Basically, set it the "other way" and see if there is any improvement.)
NOTE: When disk use is enabled, you have to eject the iPod in iTunes before disconnecting it physically.
If the disk use change makes a difference, that may provide a clue about the actual cause. -

Safari does not using system proxy settings (charles web proxy)
Using OSX 10.7.3 and Safari Version 5.1.3.
I start Charles, the web debugging proxy. On start, Charles adjusts the proxy settings in the Network Panel of System Preferences as expected. But Safari does not / will not honor these settings.
Has anyone else had this problem?
