I tried meny time to update my I phone 4 with the latst virgin, but allways give me a message that the i phone can not contact the software after finishing the backup.
Please let me know how to sort this out.

its looking for you to update on your computer. if your on a windows your want to open up itunes. click on help, and then click check for updates and then that should let you up date it. mac you want to click on itunes up by file and edit then click check for updates

Before updating, import all you photos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and back up your contacts (by syncing them with iCloud or another service such as Google, with a supported application such as Outlook or Address Book, or using an app like My Contacts Backup. Then open iTunes, click on the name of your phone on the left side, go to the Summary tab to the right and click on Check for Update.

There is no password to Thunderbird. The password you need is to the email account. Contact the email provider for password reset.

I'll guess that you've used a page layout document & pasting created a text box. You can add more pages & create linked text boxes, but I think you'd be better of using a word processing document. In word processing documents there is a basic text layer & additional pages will be created as needed to fit the text. Take a look at the toolbar of your document. If it says "sections" for the +page icon it's a word processing document, if it says "pages" it's a page layout document.

HT201210 While trying to update my iphone and itunes, I have messag 1611 and my phone is frozen on a pic of a usb cord w/ an arrow to itunes.. I have removed firewalls and security programs as suggested..still not restored!!

I was on the phone with an apple tech for two hours, we managed to update itune program on computer, but by that time the phone was dead and would not show up as a divice. She told me to let the phone charge, then plug it in and it might recognise my phone, which it did. I followed the directions and now my iphone is a nice paperweight. She also told me she would email a case number and some articles which would guide me through the process if it did not work. I did not receive them!! My iphone cannot be restored (error 1611). I have removed all security ware as it suggested. I even took down the windows firewall... I have tried everything (except of course I cannot try what they suggest I adjust on my phone because it is frozed FOREVER!!! Please help me!!

Try a hard reset. Press the power button on top of the phone and the home button simultaneously. Hold them both for about a minute and hopefully the screen will cut off and then the apple will reappear and proceed to the setup screen.

IPOD touch coming up saying iphone and i don't know how to change it

can anyone please help me i got my mum an ipod touch for her birthday and when we synced it onto the computer it continues to come up with iphone, i have tried restarting, and resetting and restoring but it is not working at all. Could it be that the software in the ipod it incorrect if so is there a way to fix it.

Where do you see iPhone? Is it the name of the device on the left side of iTunes?
If it is, this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3965 will walk you through changing the name of the iPod touch.
If its not the name, try restoring the iPod. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 will walk you through the restore process.

You'll have to keep trying to remember it. Otherwise you have to save as much of your data as you can and restore the phone as a new iPhone (without your backup) and start over.

I have 2 iPhones, from different carries and different numbers. Both with different apple ids and somehow I can still texts sent from both phones to other iPhones and I don't know how to fix it.

You probably activated the new phone will the old phone was still active. That would have linked the two numbers to iMessage. Go into iMessage and turn them off on each phone. Then turn iMessage on for your phone. When it activates, go into Settings>Messages>Send and Receive and see what numbers/email addresses are linked there. It should just be the current phone number and if desired, your Apple ID email address.
Then have the other person turn their iMessage back on and when it activates see if it now only brings their current phone number and again if desired Apple ID email address.

Just had my library transferred to a new PC, attempted to sync my iphone with itunes and there seems to be 5gb of 'other' content on my iphone? I can't work out what this is, or how to manager/reduce it?

I suspect you need to backup and then restore the device as this is generally the only way to clear up such data.
Your library should contain all the media that is on the device. If for some reason that isn't so see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
