HT201210 when i plugged my 3gs in a message said there was an update and now it keeps failing and left my iphone with a picture saying plug into itunes which then says unable to contact the server try later ??? any clues ???
I conected my iphone 3gs to Itunes It says there was an update so i agreed it also recommended I do a back up so I agreed. then half way through the process it failed and a message popped up saying unable to contact server try again later. and alls I have on the phone now is a picture indicating to plug into itunes.
Any Clues ???? as when I plug in it says I need to restore the phone and it fails again. it was working fine before I did the update
Is this phone locked to a cell carrier?

I have a hard time understanding why I can't contact support about THEIR problem. I plugged my iPhone into my pc. iTunes came up. It said there was an update available for the phone. I accepted that. Clicked on the "download only" because I didn't have the time to install it at that point. It downloaded but didn't stop. It continued to the 'backing up your iPhone' segment then froze. I waited at least an hour with no change. Finally I unplugged my phone..iTunes wasn't responding.I rebooted my pc then tried the same thing again. I went to back up my iPhone4 and it said there was an update. So I clicked on 'update and backup' (or something close to that.) It took FOREVER...way longer than usual. When it was done, it showed the power cord w/an arrow to iTunes. ***??? I restarted my computer and tried the whole process again and still...the power cord with an arrow to iTunes. And I know this means I have to go to Apple and get another phone and will lose anything that wasn't backed up. Anyone else have this happen or have a solution so I don't have to do a restore???
Reboot your computer.
Disable your antivirus and firewall.
Connect the phone to a USB port directly on your computer, not to a hub. If your computer is not a laptop and has ports on both front and back use a port on the back.

If it STILL doesn't work open a command window and type:
netsh winsock reset
Then try again. (It seems that a recent Microsoft Windows update may have corrupted network settings; this restores them to the factory default).

I need help, I pluged my iphone to itunes and got a message that said there was an update to download and update, I did but when itunes was rebooting and updating I got an error message. and now the phone is telling me that it cant be activated, to plug it in to itunes or to contact support care.
That message usually indicates that your phone was hacked to unlock it from the original phone carrier, then when you updated or restored it locked back to that carrier.

I could not open my camera raw files from canon mark iii with my photoshop CS5. Tried to update Camera raw 6.7 but failed to install. Message said 'There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later'. How could I open Raw files ?

Microsoft Office 2011 no longer opens because "there is a problem" after updating mountain lion when the app store said there was an update available this morning. Reinstalling did not work. What's the problem?

Have a similar problem. This MacBook opened all MS Office programs in Dec2012 but no longer does in Feb2013. Went to Microsoft/mac/downloads but none of the three updates would run citing a problem "version of software needed to run this update was not found on this volume".

I clicked on iMessage on my Macbook Pro today for the first time, and now NOTES keeps opening up every 5 seconds, with a new note. I cannot stop it from opening. If I close it or force close, it opens again in 5 seconds. I can't get rid of it. I have tried to clear out the iMessage settings I had put in, and I've tried to adjust the Accounts to not include notes to synch. But, Notes will not stop. It opens a new note, and even if you ignore it, it assumes preference every 5 seconds, and the Mac is impossible to use.
Do you have any Boot Camp or other secondary partitions set up on your system? If so then try running a disk verification routine (chkdsk, etc.) in Windows to repair the disk. While I've not heard of it happening recently, in the past errors in these partitions have resulted in stubborn ghost files appearing in OS X.

I've update my iPad to iSO6. Now saying connect to iTunes, which is saying my iPad in recovery & to restore to factory stting & all media & data will be ereased. I DOT NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN. What can I do?
You have no choice now. Unless you want a brick for an iPad. After you restore to factory settings you can restore from your backup ..... And you do backup don't you? I would never update the iOS software without backing up first. After you restore from the backup, sync with iTunes again and you should be OK. Assuming that you do sync with iTunes .....

I tried downloading a movie, at the very end it said there was a problem. No explanation, now it's not in my itunes library and when I try to download again it tells me I have already rented this movie do I want to rent again? I don't want to pay for it a second time, how do I receive a credit?

I just bought a mac book pro - When setting up my computer it told me that I there was updates to my operating sytem - to install the updates. I installed them and then restarted my computer - But it still says that I have an update to do - which is the operating sytem one that I just did??? Do I still need to do something else.

sometimes updates have other updates as prerequisites, so one set of updates can lead to another set of updates. Unless it is asking you to apply the same update over and over again, you should probably accept the new set of updates that Software Update is offering. -

Are you running Leopard on your Mac, Laurie?
If so, try instead updating to iTunes 10.6.3.25. (That supports earlier models of iPhones running iOS 6, even though it can't run the new iPhone 5s.)

From Apple website when I go to itunes update to 10.3 I am not seeing the left column to download itunes 10.3. Does anyone else have this problem? I tried yesterday as well. Today, I threw my itunes 9.1.1 in the trash and emptied it... and then rebooted. What am I doing wrong?
What operating system are you running? I doubt it's an iPhone OS on a Mac Mini, but if you meant to choose 10.4 then you're out of luck. http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ At the bottom of the left hand column on this page, you'll see it requires OS X 10.5 or higher.

tried doing an update now the ipad just says itunes with the usb (charger symbol under it )
I have tried turning on and off but it still doesnt work - it is still connected to my laptop - I disconnected etc and still not good.
What do I do??You probably need to restore your iPad now since the update did not complete properly - and you more than likely need to use recovery mode. This explains how to do that.
