HT201240 what do i do if I don't have a disc for my mac?
I don't believe that i have the Disc for my Mac and need to reset the admin password to load a new version of the operating system.

You do not need a DVD to reset your administrator password in Mountain Lion. You can do it with OS X Recovery.

Not from scratch, no. If you had cloned it to an external firewire drive before you had the problems then you could have created a bootable external drive from which to start the computer. If the hard drive has failed then it's too late to do that now. Similarly, you could have tried [BootCD|http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/7957] with Panther, but too late since it needs something from which to work.
To what extent has this "failed?" Does it boot to a grey screen, or do nothing at all? If it will get to a grey screen then the drive isn't dead but probably the directory is corrupt. Your options then are to try fsk, invest in Diskwarrior to try and repair the directory, or invest in a data rescue program to try and recover files. It is possible to run fsk from the Darwin screen (black screen with text) if it will at least boot that far. fsk won't fix much but it is worth a try and is free.

Try using another computer. I had the same problem, repeated the given solution many times and each time it failed. Then I connected ipad to another computer and it worked immediately. Then I used the first computer to restore a backup.

I was given an App Store gift card (I don't have any devices for apps; I'm just an iTunes/music gal) what to do?
No gift receipt given with card; don’t feel right telling the person “thanks but this is wrong.” Especially since the nature of the thank you gift is from an emotional event for the gift giver.
My assumption is that if I attempt to redeem the App Store gift card that iTunes will apply it to a separate "ledger" for apps only and I will NOT be able to purchase music with the gift money.

need help MacBook 2007 won't start up all of the way it gets the loading circle thing then it just keeps going and a bar thing pops up to load but doesn't and about a few minutes and it shut off. I don't have a disk for the computer or another Mac so what do I do?
I don't have the disk and i tried the shift key and it didn't do anything, i have tried like everything but it won't work and i was givin this computer with a charger and that is all nothing came with it and i don't think that it had the lion thing on it either i never got to that it just won't turn on and i have another mac that was a family members but it won't turn on either at all it won't load anything the screen stays black. so i don't really know at all what to do is there anything else? i don't want to take it anywhere because i have no money for that, and i need this computer for school. You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

How do I get rid of an old icloud account that was hacked and i don't have the password for?
I was hacked awhile back and had to change to a new email. i was able to change my itunes account over but my icloud did not come over to the new account.
I can not delete or change the old icloud account because I don't have the password for it. what can i do to fix this?Use the Settings app to sign out of the old ID and sign in with the new one.
Settings > iTunes and App Store > tap on the Apple ID > Sign Out > then sign in with the correct Apple ID.
Not that all apps purchased or downloaded with the old Apple ID will require the old ID and password in order to be updated. To avoid this delete all apps associated with the old ID and download them again with the new ID. Be aware that you will most likely lose data associated with deleted apps and you will have to pay again for any apps that have a fee. -
My ex-boyfriend stole my email address and credit card information to make purchases with Apple and now my Apple ID has a balance. You need to immediately pull credit reports to see what else he has done. Then "freeze" the credit report at all three agencies. That way even you need to lift the freeze to add credit cards or other credit items to your SSN.

PLEASE HELP. you don't have write access for your itunes media folder or a folder within it
I am using Windows 7. If it makes a difference, my OS and important programs run on an SSD, while eveyrthing else is on a larger HDD. For awhile now I have had this problem anytime I try to do things in iTunes like import a CD, or a blu-ray digital copy. It gives me this error "you don't have write access for your itunes media folder or a folder within it windows 7." I have read tons of articles on how to change file permissions in windows and give full control and all that stuff. I swear I have read and tried anything remotely close to a solution for my issue, and it just wont fix it. Anyone have any out of the box ideas aside from changing permissions on the iTunes folder?

Changing iPod's master computer
