  • IPod touch 3g stuck in recovery mode, but iTunes doesn't detect it.

I tried several times to update the software on my ipod, but each time was interrupted by my computer going to sleep (pc, Windows 7).  Now my ipod is stuck in recovery mode, and itunes doesn't detect it at all.  The ipod also won't turn off.  I have tried all the troubleshooting here:  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 and here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808?viewlocale=en_US.  Please, does anyone else have any ideas?  TIA

Thanks, I'll try it out, and update here.  It might take a little while for the battery to drain without being used.

  • IPod touch 4G stuck in recovery mode- it won't even go into DFU

When I accidentally disconnected my iPod touch 4G during an update yesterday, it automatically went into recovery mode (the screen with the USB cable pointing up towards an iTunes logo). Now it won't turn off, it is recognised by neither my laptop nor by iTunes, it won't even go into DFU, so there's absolutely no way, as far as I can tell, to fix it. I've looked all over the internet, and the only other person I can find who has experienced a similar problem hasn't received an answer in about a year. • My iPod touch is stuck in recovery mode and won't restore?

Okay my Ipod Touch is stuck in recovery mode and will not restore because "the ipod software update server cannot be contacted". I have tried to restart my computer, restart my ipod, tried different computers, and re-intalled AND updated my itunes and it still will not restore. It is stuck on the picture of the usb cable pointing to itunes and won't do anything else. I'm trying to restore it because my memory was full and I wanted to clean it out and now the ipod is useless, please help me restore it!

    Update Server
    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem

  • IPod touch 5g stuck in recovery mode.

    Hi.
I tried to update the software on my ipod touch 5g, for some reason the connection was lost between the ipod and the PC midway through installing the software on the ipod, now im stuck in recovery mode.
I keep losing connection between ipod and pc since trying to update the software. Basically the connection is lost then comes straight back.
My ipod shows the lead with an arrow pointing towards the itunes logo.
Itunes tells me that im in recovery mode and gives me an option to restore.
Whenever I have tried to restore it downloads the latest software then nothing happens, just stays in restore mode.
I have tried putting it into DFU mode but nothing appears to happen after following the steps.
Really annoying as the next available appointment at the Apple store is on Monday and would like to get it fixed a lot sooner than that if poosible.
    Many Thanks

  • My ipod touch is stuck in recovery mode I tried RecBoot and the reiBoot  both fail to get me out of recovery  I get error 28 instad  now what?

My ipod Touch 2nd Gen 8GB is stuck in recovery mode   I tried RecBoot and when that couldn't do it I tried reiBoot  both failed to fix my problem  what do you suggest?

Start off with some basic steps:
    - Make sure iTunes is up to date
    - Try another usb cable
    - Try another usb port
In the article Resolve iOS update and restore errors this is what it says about error 28:
    Check for hardware issues
    Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer may have a hardware issue that's preventing the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

  • My iPod touch is stuck in recovery mode, help?

A few hours ago, I tried updating my 5th generation iPod touch to iOS 8. It ran into an error and couldn't update, which left my iPod touch stuck in recovery mode with a screen showing a USB cord pointing to an iTunes symbol. I tried searching for ways to get my iPod out of recovery mode without restoring it to its factory settings, but after a couple hours of seeking, I decided I might as well just restore it. I clicked the restore button, and when it finished, it said that my iPod touch couldn't be restored either. Now, I have no clue what to do. May I have some help?

    That error is covered here:

  • Ipod touch 3g stuck between recovery mode and apple sign

    Hello everyone,
I was hoping someone could assist me... I have an iPod Touch 3g (32gb) that is stuck in recovery mode.  Once in a while, it'll go to the start up Apple Logo... but then it'll go back to the recovery mode/connect to iTunes screen.  To add to the fun, sometimes it would go into regular iPod mode and I can surf the net, and do regular things.  However, when it goes into that mode... the screen would flicker between the regular screen and a greyish screen.  At that point, I shut the iPod off... but when I do that the iPod will turn itself back on (yes, it's strange).
Anyone with any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have tried to recovery the iPod on iTunes... once it "succeeds", it goes back telling me to recover the iPod again so it's basically looping.  I've tried to recover this device with another computer with iTunes... same result.  I can't get this thing on DFU mode.. as it won't respond to it.  I've also tried various USB cables.
Is there any hope? (or any ideas in terms of what could be causing the issues)
    Thanks a bunch.

Thanks, I'll try it out, and update here.  It might take a little while for the battery to drain without being used.
