It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion. USe your backup copy to put everything on the new computer, then sync.

You need to use the old ID and password to delete the iCloud account. After you delete the old account, you can sign in with the new ID in iCloud.

You can transfer iTunes content and photos from one computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first with a warning message provided beforehand indicating this will occur.

Do you have an installed email program such as Microsoft Outlook? If your email is through an online login, such as Gmail, etc, then one will have to create an email association with a program such as Microsoft Outlook on the PC for this Scan to Email system to function.

We have 1 ipod 5, 2 iphone 4s, one computer. Each have own iTunes acct. How can I sync/or download each one to it's own music? I can't plug in one iPhone because it says it's syncing to my acct.

I need help trying to download music to three different devices. iPod5, 2iPhone 4s, one of which is the main name on account. However when I go to plug one of the 4s' in the computer, it starts to sync to my own "named" device, my itunes acct.(needless to say, I don't have any music on the one iphone.) How can I prevent syncing my daughters' ipod, iPhone to my name. They have their own accounts/emails, but we have one computer. Well not exactly. We've had the same computer for a long time. It started with two ipod 3's. We tried to add a third ipod3 and for some reason were not successful. (it never recognized one of these ipods). Okay, since then we've had an ipod4gen, ( I think I have generations right, not that it matters) anyway, I see in my itunes, that there are three "list" names. However, we now have new devices, an ipod5th gen, and two iphone4s. We don't sync them hardly ever, just plug them into wall for charging. Okay, my daughter(w/ iphone4s) wants music downloaded on hers, and yes as you have already read, when I plug it in it says it's syncing to my iphone. I don't want to mess hers up. So you are saying try to log out of my acct. and log in using her password? I get that part. However at this time I don't have her phone to try this. But like I said, I believe I tried doing that and it still said syncing to my account. So I "pulled the plug". We need three different accounts so they/we can plug in with no hassle from eachothers accounts. This may be a simple fix, but I am not "computer savvy" with this stuff.LOL! Thank you for your help, I truly appreciate your input on this matter!:) (I'll have to try this on hers later today, as far as logging in and out of corrrect itunes accts.).

How can i sync my iphone to a new computer without restoring settings and deleting everything?

I've just gotten a new desktop computer and I'd love to have my iPhone synced to it...but I cannot do that without "restoring" settings or erasing my current library to sync to this new library. The problem is I have absolutely nothing on this new computer and I do not wish to delete anything on my phone... what's the best way to go about this without losing any of my notes, photos, contacts, apps etc? I accidentally restored my iphone last year and it was horrible trying to get everything back on it, I just don't really want to do that again! I'm thinking I could possibly back up to iCloud and then erase my current library and start from there, but I'm very paranoid about losing my contacts and my photos! Also I just visited the iCloud website and I couldn't figure out how to access my photos on there. Any help that anyone could offer would be awesome! Thank you!

On my PC, all my photos are in folders named for topic or year and they used to sync that way onto my I phone and I pad. Now when I sync to my I pad, they are all jumbled up into the wrong folders (albums) - really mixed up in no particular order. Can anyone help with how I can sync and keep them in the folders they're in on the PC?

Thanks - that helped. But when I tried to sync all my photo folders to the I pad 2, I tunes would add some but not all of the ones that were marked to sync, end the sync, then the I pad 2 would hang with the wheel turning, saying it was still syncing photos, and it would not end and the remaining folders of photos never appeared. I finally had to sync and re-sync over and over by adding one folder of photos at a time, then another and another.

In previous iTunes 12 you'd right click and hold shift key and be able to get to it. Anyone figured this out?

The "legacy" metadata editors, for which there was a "back door" in iTunes 12.0, have gone from 12.1. However, the revised editors in 12.1 provide access to (almost) all the metadata elements that were available in iTunes 11, albeit in a different layout and with some additional constraints based on media kind. Some users have / will have an issue with the statement that "Get Info has been completely redesigned in iTunes 12 to focus your attention only on what’s necessary for the selected item" since that removes some metadata elements that people may have been using in creative ways. iTunes 12.1 basically gives you access to the fields that Apple think are necessary ... . Some of the things that have been excluded by this rule:
track and disc number fields for video media kinds
show and episode fields for music
description tab for audiobooks made up of more than one file
Obviously the first two examples can be regarded as "overloading" the metadata elements - i.e., using them in ways that the designers didn't intend - but given that some users do find valid cases for this it's a shame that they've been deprecated in the new UI. There are couple of workarounds:
in songs view (or any of the other columnar views), you can still select any fields to display, independent of media kind, and these can be edited (though only one at a time) by double-clicking in the relevant "cell"
you can (temporarily) change the media kind of an item (or group of items) to get access to metadata elements that would otherwise be inaccessible.
It may be worth submitting an issue via https://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html - I can't see it as a huge development task to have a user preference to switch between "show all fields" and "filter fields based on media kind".
One other oddity/irritation is that some of the tabs don't, by default, show all the available fields - you need to scroll up/down to access them or to expand the window by dragging on one of its corners. Fortunately, the latter seems to be persistent - once you've done this to make all the fields visible the editor will open at the same (larger) size when opened again.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
