HT201302 How to import photos that are imported from itunes back to iphoto?

I had imported photos from Itunes( Iphoto ) to my iphone and i deleted all the photos in Iphoto. Now I wanted to control some of the photos but I can't! If I sync photos again, all the photos will be gone. So I wanted to import the photos in my Iphone back to Iphoto. Anyone knows how?

The iTunes transfer process for photos from your computer is a one way transfer process only. Photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on the iPhone - the original resolution is changed/lowered, which is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported.
There are some 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring these photos in the opposite direction but the original resolution of these photos deleted from your computer will be lost and the 3rd party utilities are not supported by Apple.

To sync photos from a Mac or Windows PC to your device using photo applications
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed.
In iTunes, select your device's icon in the Devices list on the left.
    Click the Photos tab.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Note: Some versions of Photoshop Album and Photoshop Elements don't support collections. You can still use them to sync all your photos.
If you want to sync all your photos, enable the option for "All photos, albums, events, and faces." If you want to sync photos from only some albums, events, or faces, enable the option for "Selected albums, events, and faces" and then select the albums you want. If syncing on a Mac with iPhoto version 6.0.6 or later, you may enable the option to "Include videos" to sync videos directly from iPhoto to your device. (Requires iOS 3.0 or later).
    Click Apply.
To sync photos from a folder on your hard disk to your device
Drag the images you want into a folder on your computer. If you want images to appear in separate photo albums on your device, create folders inside the main folder and drag images into the new folders.
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
Select Choose Folder from the pop-up menu and choose your main image folder.
    Click Apply.

  • Importing playlists that were exported from iTunes as text

I need to re-import playlists that I exported from iTunes. When exporting them I didn't notice the format selector, which defaults to .txt format. iTunes requires .m3u or XML for playlist import. How can the information in these files be imported (including getting it into a compatible format)?

That is indeed the procedure for importing playlists. Been using it a lot, trying to get these playlists to re-import.
iTunes requires .m3u or XML for playlist import. iTunes doesn't import playlists in text (.txt) format, even though that's the default format when you export them.
If I'd run an import immediately after exporting a playlist I'd have caught this. But who would expect that iTunes might not accept its own default playlist export format for playlist import?
The problem: how to extract and use the information in the text files iTunes exported.

  • HT4623 how to delet photos that were downloaded from the computer

How to delet photos that were downloaded from the computer?

Resync the iPad with the computer, but before doing so, click on the device once it is hooked up to iTunes. You will see the Device Profile to the right with several tabs - Photos being one of them. Select the Photos tab, and either uncheck the Sync Photos box at the top (if you don't want any of the photos to be on your device), or uncheck the selected photos you no longer want to sync.

Most intelligent people would not store such sensitive data on a device that could so easily be lost, stolen, or damaged.  Even if they chose to do so, they would use the device as designed and regularly sync and backup that device as described in the User's Guide.
Have you done so?  If you have, all of the data is either in iCloud or iTunes on your computer.  Replace the device and restore the new iDevice with the backup of the old one.

  • IPhoto : how to recover imported photos that are now "*.ipmeta" files

Yesterday I imported photos from my Nikon camera in iPhoto. I imported them in an album. Then I deleted all photos from the camera and empty the trash (mac book).
Today I open iPhoto and I don't find the photos any more : neither in iPhoto nor in My Pictures.
Using the Finder (search on Yesterday), I found is a list of files such as "photo.002723.ipmeta". It looks like these files may correspond to the photos, but I cannot open them with iPhoto.
How can I recover my photos ?
I understand my mistake was to import the photos in iPhoto without first moving them to My Pictures.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
I understand my mistake was to import the photos in iPhoto without first moving them to My Pictures.
It wasn’t, unless you’re running a Referenced Library. Are you?
Then I deleted all photos from the camera
You can probably recover the photos from your camera card with an app like MediaRecover.
Today I open iPhoto and I don't find the photos any more : neither in iPhoto nor in My Pictures.
Are you sure you don’t have a damaged database file?
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    photo.002723.ipmeta
These are database files of about 4kb each. They are not your photos and your pics cannot be recovered from them.

  • IMovie 11 how do I import photos that ARE NOT in iPhoto

If I don't use iPhoto, how can I import photos into an iMovie 2011 project?
As far as I can see, you have to put your photos into iPhoto first. I don;t use iPhoto, I use Lightroom and it would be a pain if the only way that I could get photos into an iMovie project was to have to load them into iPhoto.
    thanks

I finally figured it out myself. You can drag photos from Finder into the project timeline.
I couldn't find this docuemented anywhere and every tutorial only talks about using iphoto.

  • Does the ipad reduce the quality of photos that are imported using the SD to lightning connection kit?

Hi everyone. I'm hoping you can help.
I'm currently travelling and my intention is to take photos using my camera, import them to my iPad using the lightning to SD connector and then upload the photos to cloud storage for safe keeping.
The problem I've found is when I import photos to my iPad the file size, and therefore quality of the photos, is reduced. I know this because I have tested uploading the same photo to Mega.co.nz cloud storage using both the iPad and a Nexus 4 phone - the iPad uploaded the photo at file size 2.9mb and the Nexus uploaded the photo at the original file size of 5.8mb.
    Can this issue be resolved?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ben

    Sorry, issue resolved.
For those that may be having similar problems, the issue is the Mega.co.nz app that was created for apple products. It's possibly a bug that means it either compresses the file or does not accurately record the file size. I will report the fault to Mega.

  • How to delete photos that are "saved images" on iphone 5?

    No iCloud
    Win7 Professional
iPhone says 1631 pix, 88 vids, and 12GB
Camera roll says 773 photos, 9 vids
iTunes says 1719 pix, along with 12 GB used
I have individually deleted massive numbers of pix.  Not a problem; just can't get rid of the "remnants."
For iTunes:  I set up an empty folder under My Pictures, sync/selected and applied, then unchecked sync and applied - nothing.
I also set up a new folder with just the pix that I want on the phone, synced (selected that folder only), hoping to replace all content with those photos.  Nope.
Most of my photos happen to be from emails or pictures that I have taken.
Any suggestions will be gratefully considered.  Thanks in advance!!!  Going berserk here.

    Greetings desertrat8,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you have a lot of saved photos on your iPhone and would like to delete or remove them. Deleting them manually from your device is one way to accomplish this, but a more efficient way to remove them all would be to erase them after importing. The attached article explains how to import your photos to a Windows computer. After the import, you will be given a choice to keep or delete the photos on your iPhone that you have just imported to the computer. Please reference the attached article for further information.

  • How to recover photos that were deleted while restoring back up on my IPhone

Well, today I decider to see if I could recover stuff from my old iPhone 4, so I connected my phone to iTunes and clicked "Restore Backup". Little did I know that it would delete all my photos, which I didn't know it was going to do that:( So, i lost all my photos & it's making me really sad because they were special...
I was wondering if there was a way to restore those photos. Like literally anything I can do, because they were really important to me & I am literally crying at this moment. If I knew that restoring my phone wod delete the photos I had, I would've backed it up first, but it never happened to me before, so I just assumed...
Anyone with any advice PLEASE HELP ME D:

Sorry no.  IF those data weren't backed up, then there is no way to get it back.
Not unless you synced your contacts with a program i.e outlook, google in iTunes. then you could resync your contacts.

  • How to get songs that are in "previous iTunes Libraries" folders ??

I am unable to play scores and scores of songs that were on my iTunes 4.9 playlists now that I have "upgraded" to 7.0 I have a strange icon to the left of the song on my song list and when I go to play the song I get a message that the song cannot be located. The following notes come from iTunes help (see below) and I am wondering if anyone else has lost music and if so.....are they really lost or just misplaced? I would hate to think Apple would insist on an upgrade to buy more iTunes if they are going to scrub away hundreds of your other songs.
    HELP PLEASE
Note: The library file name for versions of iTunes prior to 4.9 was "iTunes 4 Music Library" for Mac OS X and "iTunes 4 Music Library.itl" for Windows. After upgrading to iTunes 4.9 or later, the older library files are moved to a "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder.

If the strange icon you refer to is an exclamation point, the problem is that the song files are not in the location the iTunes Library files are saying they are.
Note that the iTunes Library files do not contain the actual song files but rather a list of references that point iTunes to where the songs are (or rather should be) located.
So the first thing I'd do is find out just where the files are on your computer. Have a look at this article in the Apple Knowledge Base for some ideas on how to do so.
Post back and let us know if you're able to find the song files.

  • I have a apple ipod 3 gen and i need to updat from ios 4.3.3 and i have photos that are important they are on photo library and i cant import them to my computer how do i ?

I;ve been trying to figure this out and i cant it wont let me do anything.

The DropBox import, like regular photo/video import or works for items in the Camera Roll album. Not for photos synced to the iPod like the poster has.
    The poster can:
    - Email them and sync them to the updated iPod
    - Import them via a third-party computer program like TouchCopy or PhoneView. Those are paid apps.

  • Best way to import photos that are already in the book.

    Hi,
I have a huge book with a lot of photos. When I drag the text in, the photos come in also, but they are all moved around. Is there any way to import the text in and have the photos not move around and stay where they're supposed to be?
    Thanks,
    Elaine
