Connect your device to your computer, open iTunes, go to the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings, uncheck the folder containing the photos you want to remove (or to remove them all, uncheck "Sync Photos"), then click Apply at the bottom to sync your device. If you only want to remove individual photos rather than the entire folder, move them out of the folder on your computer, then sync.

You must enable iTunes Match on the new computer. The best way to accomplish what you want to do is to create a new, empty library by launching iTunes while holding down the Option key (Shift on Windows) and choosing "new library." Do not let iTunes scan for new content, but do enable iTunes Match on the empty library. Once the scan is finished you may delete tracks from the cloud. 1. In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)

Synced photos cannot be deleted on the iPad. Only photos taken with the iPad and transferred with the Camera Connection Kit can be deleted.
You need to delete the photos in iTunes and sync again.

Hello, I've only had my ipod for a few weeks now. I've finaly figured out how to rip dvds/encode them, etc. During this trial and error period I was putting all kinds of junk in my itunes library.
My question is how to remove videos from my itunes library.

I've been using a dvd ripper and video converter made by Xilisoft. After I import the movie from my pc to itunes video library and ipod, I've noticed that the audio doesn't match up with the video. Its like watching a poorly dubbed kung fu movie. Has anybody used Xilisoft software and had the same problems? If so, what did you do to recify the problem?

OK, I finally figured it out. I still don't have the clear option available. I had to double click on video, highlight, then press delete.
I'm curious why I don't have a clear option like I do in library.
Oh well, at least I can delete old files from my itunes now.

I was wondering if there is a way to remove items from my itunes library but still keep them on my computer in case I want to put them back in the library later. For instance, I bought the first season of Desperate Housewives, which takes up about 4.5 GB, and since I have the 30 GB ipod and lots of personally ripped DVDs, I'm running out of room. But it seems a waste to trash the files, since I paid for the show. I know I should back up the files to an external source anyway, and I've done that with my purchased music, but I don't have a DVD burner, and I'm not sure how many CDs it would take to back up the show. And I don't want to manually update the ipod because I think it's much easier to just plug it in and let it do its thing. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Go to that File(s) and right-Click to Remove; then it will ask you if you want to send it to the Recyle bin or Keep Files on your computer; Say Keep Files on your computer and should be fine.

Nope I am using the same Photo Library, not the camera roll and by the looks of it you don't have your iphone updated to the newst version because I have an extra field in the bottom bar for photostreaming.
When I go in any of the above folders I can remove pictures as well as you can see in the pictures below!?

Replying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....

Albums are not places to store photos, they're more like "labels" you can apply to photos to better organize them. A single image file can be in multiple albums... they are not copies, it's simply been labelled as being in all those albums. So what you're trying to do doesn't make sense, because it's based on incorrect assumptions.
The iPhoto library will always show all photos that you have added to iPhoto.

"Photo Library" is a place where you can access all photos synced to your iphone. They are not duplicate photos. It is simply another place form which to access the smae photos that are in your folders/albums
Just as a book is in the public library and in the fiction section, your pics are in the Photo Library and in your folder. There is only one pic, simply two places from which to access the same pic.
If you want to delete pics synced to you iphone, then deselect them in itunes and sync.

You can't delete it from your purchased list, as that is permanently maintained by the iTunes store. You can, however, prevent it from appearing in your song list by going to Settings>iTunes & App Store and turning off Music under Show All.

In iOS 8, how can I delete pictures from photos app because I have run out of space, I need to delete at least 6 GB of pics. I deleted many purchased apps but it did not restore space. Were the photos synced to the iPod?
If so you have to unsync them or use a third-party computer program like TouchCopy or PhoneView
